Came here for a STAR certified smog check required for my vehicle registration renewal. Arrived at 7:50 AM, got helped by a friendly gentleman and got out after 15 minutes! Highly recommended, and I will come back later for other maintenance stuff.

Fast, Cheap, and Thorough!
I went in for an oil change, but then brought up another issue another my car needed. I went to a different repair shop, and they estimated me $550 to replace my wheel barring, but Auto Express was able to beat that price at $400. I got an oil change, rear wheel barring replaced, and my car smog tested all within half of a day. Highly recommend, especially for people that are looking for quality mechanics that can explain exactly what your vehicle needs

Worked with John for the first time and I was impressed with his laid back, real approach to taking care of the customer with trust. John and Phil worked hard at troubleshooting the issue in my Prius and finally figured it out and did without settling for the easy out. I have found my mechanic for the future and would highly recommend this shop to everyone.

Like many, I found this auto shop while looking for a place to get my car smogged. I now use it for any car issues that come up (oil changes, broken window, broken key fob/lock, A/C maintenance, brake pad replacements) because I really trust the owner and I know he's giving me a fair price and does good work. It's awesome to be able to drop my car here in the morning before work, walk to the office, and then pick it up after work with all the problems fixed!
Warning: Google maps will try to tell you to enter the business from Fat Alley, but that will make it hard for you to get to their parking lot. Instead, have your directions route you to 15th and F Street intersection, then you can simply go south on 15th and easily enter the parking lot on the left side of the street (see photo below). I've had trouble with this more times than I can count!

I’ve been going to John for years. He is my go-to man for all car things, and I always recommend him to my friends. He is honest, fair and no BS type of guy. He does a great job and doesn’t try to upsell you. Highly recommend John and Auto Express.

An honest shop run by a nice guy. Took care of me quickly and did a great job, at a reasonable price. I needed an oil change and a tire rotation. I didn’t need to make an appointment and they had my car ready in less than 2 hours after I dropped it off.

2024 - I wanted to update my post - I have continued to go to Auto Express since my previous post, now having John and staff (Phil) service my 2015 Ford Escape at 90k miles. As usual, John was informative about not just service called for at this point, but also common sense care recommendations going forward now that our Escape is getting older. In addition to the plugs replacement, coolant flush, transmission flush and change, they also diagnosed the problem causing engine vibration - a failed motor mount. Continued 5 stars!
2016 - I have taken my 2002 Jetta and 2002 Ford F150 to Auto Express and have had a good experience both times. John and his staff are great, they are the real deal - no-nonsense car repair at a fair price. John's estimates were considerably less than those I received from other large and small shops. John takes the time to explain the issues. I'm glad to have found Auto Express.

Have 2 vehicles and bought bot into John 2010 Lincoln Mkz had a Evn computer problem…he diagnosed and replace a very difficult computer chip. With My 2005 Ford Taurus had an issue with high idling and was having major issues with. Fuel economy he fixed the issue and replaced wiring with spark plugs. Also diagnosed my AC which had been out over a year and removed excess oil from AC and found the leak
