I spent thousands of dollars over many years for my little fur babies Well being with this vet service. on the day that she was in her final stages of Cushing's disease, which they did not treat or diagnose I was turned away. They told me they didn't have time to treat her nor the medical equipment and staff to deal with her dying. I went to an emergency vet services which gave me great treatment but she succumb to her disease and passed. do not trust your fur babies to Banfield they're all about doing vaccinations and so-called check ups. They are not competent to treat any real illness that you're fur bay might get.

I have a husky shepherd mix who is prone to pit of despair when she goes to the veterinarian. The Banfield employees are incredibly kind and exhibit deep empathy for our furry friends that they care for.

brought my dog in for a drop off bc he had a problem licking his wounds. when we picked him up, he had more wounds than when we brought him in. they clearly weren't monitoring him while he was there. i'd give 0 stars if i could

Agree with the post below. Very tough to get appointments when you and your pet need it. Why we left. Not the staffs fault, just too small of an office to handle the catchment area. VCA is better. MORE IMPORTANT >>> Don't get the wellness plan, or at the very least make sure you cancel it. They'll keep charging even though you can't get appointments. ABSOLUTE WORST.

I don't trust or like anything about Banfield Pet Hospital. The one veterinarian assistant, man- handed, & drug my Emotional Support Companion Service Animal by his harness. Plus I'm afraid of what my dog was subjected to without me present. I was not allowed to go to the examination room with him. So if she's dragging him around by his harness in front of me, I'm completely fearful of what she did behind closed doors. Do not trust anyone here. I have not gone back here since the assistant man- handed, & drug my Emotional Support Companion Service Animal around.

The most incompetent vet ever. If you love your pets, go somewhere else. Our new vet and a vet specialist requested our pets records well over a month ago... Today, at UC Davis and NO records sent (via a referral FROM Banfield). Have now been on the phone with Banfield for over 30 minutes waiting to get the records. We've been unable to book appointment with an Eye Specialist because ...Banfield still hasn't sent them the records (not surprising). To top it all off, as we're in the exam room at UC Davis on hold for 30 mins...the receptionist at Banfield (Sabrina) is giving me attitude about how busy they are. Sorry Sabrina..but you've had over a MONTH to send the records. You should've sent them well before now and at this point it is due to Banfields inaction - so I don't care that you're busy. So rude. Don't go here....they're terrible.

I have loved this place since they finally helped with shaggy. A little rant but mueller vet hospital was just taking my money not helping me at all with shaggys cough at all and then when goofy was limping they just said he licked his leg and limped cause he was bored even tho he was in an accident causing him to limp in the future. However the staff here never belittled me. They have been 100 percent honest with me and nice to me. Some times I need my boyfriend to drop off my dogs and they been so accommodating. Best of all I know goofy is so bad very aggressive because of the accident but according to my boyfriend they treated him so nice. I am so glad my dogs are comfortable with the vet techs and the vets. I am so sorry about goofy by the way he is a very sweet boy when he gets to know people it’s just ever since his accident his been very aggressive with NEW people it took my boyfriend time to get goofys trust

Reasonable prices for quality care. I've always had good experiences with the Vets and all of the Banfield staff. I've been taking my dog to Banfield for around four years now. From speaking with other dog owners, the Banfield tooth care level membership costs are much more reasonable than other local Vet offices. I highly recommend.

Awful. Predatory. Disrespectful. Unkind.DO NOT COME HERE if you are ADA or in need of help or support as a customer. They do not care about you and in fact will pass blame. The receptionist was incredibly rude and disrespectful. She had the nerve to blame my father for not telling me the proper drop off time. Even after showing the txt information I was sent, that I was only operating with the information I had at hand. Still she was RUDE and bratty to me. Like it was my fault. Worst of all she decided not to help me reschedule or anything. We had to cancel my cat's surgery and now have to wait a month for a new vet to see him and start all over!!!I had to pay close to $300 and completely end my payment plan and pull all our record from this office. No understand ot willing to accommodate or work with me to find a new solution. Her snotty comments as I walked out were very petty. She has "won" and got her way. We are no longer customers and will work to make sure none of our friends and family go there.

Dr. Bennett, just really, how can you live with yourself every day? How on earth do you extort people's money. I am grieving right now, and won't say as much as I am going to in days to come, but you and your entire team's negligence and inability to diagnose something not only so painfully obvious to 2 other Veterinarians, but was mentioned by me when I brought him him for you to check out.To go so far as take my money, provide a full clean bill of health, and then my beloved pet is euthanized 4 days later is incomprehensible. My dog is not dead because of you, but my dog was in EXRUCIATING PAIN THAT YOU COULD HAVE PREVENTED FURTHER, and ran or scheduled some obviously needed tests when we were there. The gross negligence to not diagnose something 2 other Vets visually determined within one minute of my dog coming into their clinic (prior to testing/confirmation). You are a sadist, or incompetent. You made a very ill, confused animal with a neurological disorder in excruciating pain with obvious severe osteoarthritis; an animal who couldn't sit, move or lay down and with tears in his eyes was left in a crate from 9:30 am until 4:17 pm (the soonest they would let me get him) without the ability to urinate or defecate, or sit down or lay down without assistance left to suffer in extreme pain. In 7 hours not one person thought to assist this poor baby, so he could lie down, but just ignored him the entire day. An exam takes how long??Explain the rationale that an animal sit caged without food or water the entire day? Even with food/water, what is the reason you need to herd these animals like cattle? This is not the sensitivity I need in a Vet office. If pet owners love animals like I do, rethink a corporate Vet Clinic, especially Banfield on Crocker. For this lame office not to not call me knowing my dog was suffering so badly, but to leave him cramped and standing the entire day. That is so disturbing on all levels. If I have known this was the practice, he would never have been left there to be tortured in this inhumane way. Instead of being checked out, then the team calling me to come get him. They expect a dog to pee in tiny cage they're crammed into all day. Poor guy held it all day, then peed a full 2 minutes when I got him outside. Housebroken dogs are expected to pee on a pad and are not taken out to stretch the ENTIRE DAY. He was hurting, he was wincing so badly and was forced to stand that way in pain for several hours with what I found out later; to be with skin that if touched felt like a car hit him. Dr. Bennet sent my dog out worse than when he went in.To not have exceptions for those animals that clearly cannot endure your herding mentality way of processing animals like a slaughter house. In and out like a freaking revolving door. When I went to pick my darling up, not knowing how badly he was treated, right then in front of me, my dog screamed in pain when you touched him, and you merely said, "oh I guess he is sick of me today".Not one of you thought to yourselves, hmmm...something isn't right. For that reason, there isn't one of you who should be in any type of medical field. How did you not see the extensive obvious neuro damage, and 10 freaking obvious signs something was wrong. Signs I brought to your attention and you still did not address. If any of you use the office, please rethink your decision. Animals are locked up and neglected all day, for 5 minutes with your animals. If I had not been asked to go back and get my dog from the crate because he was in pain, I would not have known how badly he suffered and how crammed he was not being able to lay down for 7 hours due to the arthritis they didn't tell me he had.Even a mentally challenged person could see the dog needed help to lay down. You are all pieces of feces. I don't understand the great reviews; I cannot be the only one on the planet whose dog was neglected at Banfield. Animals lovers you've been warned. And Dr. Bennett, the CA Board Of Veterinary Medicine has been notified.

I have been with Banfield since my cattle dog was 6 weeks old, now almost 11. I had the most wonderful experience with the Carmichael location. Staff was great and responsive, doctors trusted, location was clean and it was just easy and a good experience. I felt like it was worth it, they cared. Even during the pandemic. A year ago we moved to the Curtis Park area and it is impossible to speak with anyone, to get anyone to call you back or get an appointment. I would not really know what they are like because I am mostly unable to speak to anyone and have to wait for months for an appointment. If your dog is sick. Forget it. You are out of luck! Huge waste of money. I have never had an experience like this with any business, ever.I did speak with them once, and they said they were having a hard time finding doctors, limited hours, etc... I canceled. It does not work. It is sad after 10 years. They may be great, but I would not know.-----I have edited this three times now. I am actually very upset. You get us in these contacts and then can't service us. My dog needs his rabies shot before his plan expires in 1.5 months. When I call you don't answer. Online, it says appointments are two months out. I want him to get his shot before his plan expires. I am paying a lot each month.

Took my dog Milo in today for dental cleaning and a comprehensive exam and wow I’m impressed by the service the staff provided. I’ve been taking Milo here for a while now and I know how much this place struggled with staff shortage, however it looks like they are finally building a strong team and it’s all coming together. ??

I had an appt scheduled at 10 am to have an itchy spot on my dogs back looked at and thought I'd be sat in a room with someone and my dog. Instead they tell me it's a drop off appt, so I leave my dog. 4.5 hours goes by without a call - why do I have to leave my dog for 4.5 hours to get a spot on his back looked at? So I call, get placed on hold for literally 20 minutes and then get hung up on. I call back and ask about my dog and they said they still haven't looked at his spot. It's been almost 5 hours of my dog sitting there in a cage for what? Two stars because they'll give your dog the care they need but they'll make it frustrating for you

I’ve been a long time Banfield customer and they are certainly not all equal. But unfortunately there are not a whole lot of great vets in certain areas. I would say their services overall are above average. This location in particular is one of my favorite in the area because the most important thing to me is that they seem to truly care about the animals. Minus one star only because this is still a Banfield at the end of the day. Staff is 5 stars though.

WHEN EUTHANIZING AN ANIMAL MAKE SURE TO CALL, ITS A DIFFERENT APPOINTMENT TYPE!!! (and im afraid of phone calls too, I know they suck, but this place is super duper nice <3) I had to euthanize my dearest pupper here, they made the process very straight forward, and when the staff noticed my partner and I were trying to keep spirits light they responded in turn with radiating positivity and jokes. When our card didnt like the charge size, they split it and charged us twice so we didnt have to call our bank snotty nosed and teary-eyed. They all gave Freeway lots of pets, and snacks, and when they euthanized him they did it the IV style, so he didnt have to have any extra shots. The tech was so nice, the front desk persoople were too. The bet was also super sweet. I recommend this place a thousand times over, and will bring any future pet needs here.
