I would rate them 0 stars if I could. Horrible service, disrespectful, and deceitful. I have visited and shopped at many ethnic clothing stores and while very few have good customer service chawla has exceptionally bad customer service and thus stands out. I brought family members, two of whom were elderly, and we were all spoken to rudely and dismissed. Out of sheer desperation I purchased an outfit where the pants style was accidentally switched and when I brought it back I was told no because I had purchased a mismatched outfit. I informed the man that his employee had packaged it for me right in front of him which is why I didn't check the outfit against for a second time in store and that I wasn't asking for a refund but was still met with rude words and hand gestures. Disgusted by my experience and by the fact that as I was leaving the second (and last) time the younger man was taking a cash payment from young girls and kept insisting they do not tell anyone he gave them a "deal". Creeped me out.

Horrible service! One of the worst I have seen. They do not ship your items on time nor do they listen to you when you ask for a certain outfit. They will agree and say it is doable but have something completely different at the time of pick up. Colors of our outfits were wrong and a lot of our items did not arrive on time. (Gave them ample time too). Also highly overpriced!! Will not ever return!

I am an African American female. I went into this store looking for shoes. The female that was working around 4:45p on Jan. 1, 2024 who had thick side burns and a beard, did not appreciate my presence. She did not want to show me the shoes and when she did it was with much attitude. I hope the owners see this post and trains her that she is in America. The racist bullshit does not apply. Money is green no matter the race. And why are you here and opened a business if you don't want to service whomever enters your store. I could have bought all five of those beautiful shoes that was in my size but of course decided not too. If the customer service is off in any way - you get nothing from me. I will NEVER go back. And suggest you do not either. Also, if I could give 0 stars I would.

I would like to give zero rating. Chawla is not a faithful businessman. They show you expensive and nice material outfits and take your money but when your order comes it's cheap material and unfitted. Also tells the customers not to take pictures even though they pay fully. Please read reviews, there is lots of bad reviews.Hopefully his business shutdown soon. Evil KARMA.

I visited chawla's store to pick up my groomsmen outfit for a wedding. The outfit came back with cheaper quality than expected. The kurta was very thin and see-through even though this was a custom-made. My pajami would not even fit through my legs because the opening was too small. I brought this to the attention of the semesters and owner, and they offered to adjust it. I also ordered a 6m pagh that requires stiching. When picking up the outfit after the alterations, the pants leg was not stiched properly. There were strings coming out of the seems. I also found my pagh wasn't the correct length. I brought this to the attention of chalwa employees and milan, and they accused me of cutting the pagh short, and it was not their fault. I also showed them the seems of the pants, and they said that for alterations, it costs money. I argue that it is your responsibility to make sure the suit fits the customer like promised. Also, it is your responsibility to cut the pagh the correct length. The owner milan came and diffused the situation. In addition, other employees were rude and accused me of cutting the pagh, and they said to my mom, "If you dont like the stiching, do it yourself." At the end of the day, I would avoid coming back here again and wasting your time and money

We highly recommend Chawla Emporium, as this business represents the highest standard for all Indian clothing, jewelry, and supplies. We purchased several wedding outfits, jewelry, and supplies from Chawla Emporium for our wedding events, including our wedding ceremony, prayer, mendhi, Jaggo, and reception. We are completely satisfied with Chawla Emporium. The owner, Milan Chawla, and his extraordinary staff are very family-friendly, knowledgeable, and experienced to meet your needs. Milan is respectful and courteous, and has created a wonderful and welcoming culture at his business. Chawla Emporium has an excellent selection of clothing that includes new designer styles. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure clothing adjustments are perfect and orders arrive timely for trial and pickup. We highly recommend Chawla Emporium.

My wife really likes the store. Prices are much better then the Bay Area. The sales people can come off aggressive but I think it’s more of a cultural thing. It’s not like an American store with fixed prices, think more haggle/barter system. I requested my shirt to be altered and they were able to do it while I was there so I didn’t have to make a trip back.

This place is very unfriendly and unprofessional. They stitched 1 pajama and charged $80. After a couple weeks checking in the man who’s always standing around doing nothing came up to us and was speaking in a rude manner telling us to stop talking to the seamstress while we were just showing the seamstress how we wanted the attire to be stitched. This place is also racist they follow you around in every corner. My sister bought a $500 dress too and the man behaved very bad with us. Don’t waste your time and money here go somewhere else. Everything is overpriced. I sell the same exact dresses around $100 and here they sell it for like $400. They don’t know how to treat customers right. I hope this place shuts down one day.Note to the rude man: Treat others the way you want to be treated.

Let me start by saying, if I could give zero stars, I would. I have been here a handful of times now and each time I have interacted with a different member of the staff. I can safely say they are all ignorant, rude and disrespectful. My first interaction was when I came wedding shopping. When I come to shop at Indian stores I do not expect any customer service, but the man helping us this day was so ill-mannered it shocked me. I showed him pictures of what I liked and instead of just saying that he doesn't have what I'm looking for in the store he talked over me and told me I have bad taste. I am so glad I did not order any of my wedding outfits from them especially after coming on here now and seeing how many people have been scammed by this place. My next few interactions were regarding outfits I was gifted from this place. The owner had promised the buyer at the time of purchase that he would honor exchanges of the same value. He did not. He will say anything to make the sale but will change it up on you once he's received the money. DO NOT TRUST HIM.Also, the smallest size the store carries is a 38. I am petite and this size is several inches large on me but the staff kept insisting during every visit that I'm not that skinny. Which I didn't take personally. This is just to show the lengths that they will go to make a sale. Overall the selection that they carry is not great either. The sizes they carry are not all inclusive. All of their ready made outfits are made of cheap fabrics and semi pure chunnis but start at around $290 each. Outfits I was gifted from here were missing critical pieces of the garment i.e. a sari was missing the blouse. Come here if you would like to be up-charged and verbally abused.
