Doug was friendly enough when I met them and when I could get them on the phone. I filed my taxes here in 2021. They were clearly overloaded (they had a software issue that year), and didn't get things filed until the extension date in October. Emails replies were usually "we're working on it."**I would have been much happier if they were honest and said they were too busy and recommended another preparer.**Worse part: I got a new guy in 2022, and when we reviewed the 2021 tax filing, there were many basic errors (that I could catch myself), like missing W-2 entries. So not only were there errors, I had to pay someone else to correct them.I wish I had just gone with TurboTax that year but I had multistate taxes plus a relocation, so I thought a professional would be easier. I was so wrong. I just received another letter for more information on the 1040-X correction we had.

Cool the first time. Nice people, but slow. They tried to blame it on the pandemic, but they misread emails and forgot certain things they did. Had to redo forms and processes. It's taking 3 months to get money back! Not thorough and consistent.

If you're looking for someone with expertise with clergy tax, this place is for you. I was completely lost and terrified trying to do clergy tax on my own for the first time and needed guidance. I emailed in distressed, newly pregnant, afraid of the IRS, and Doug responded in a reasonable time. We scheduled an appointment, gave our info, and Doug and Scott prepared our forms in a timely matter. They use an encrypted email so your info is secure. Totally recommend this honest, reliable business.

At the time of this review, the business is in the process of moving to a new location, so be sure to check on that before making a trip. I have been using Doug Long for my personal tax returns for 8 years now and have never been disappointed. If you are prepared in advance, he is efficient and practical and takes a conservative approach to preparing your return. I am a loyal client.
