Came here with my husband and our newborn to open a joint checking account. Came in around 2pm and the place was empty of customers but the manager told us they were too backed up to open an account for us today so made us an appointment for 9:30am Friday. He was friendly and chatted with us about our baby for 15+ minutes which confused us after the fact since again, they had no customers but said they were backed up.Here we are outside the bank at 9:30am for our appointment- both of us prepared to be late for work to do this and the bank is closed. We called, knocked, no answer. Called and left a message and waited more. No call back. My husband took our baby home and I’m writing this review from MY car and the same manager just opened the door for his Chik fil A door dash order. We’ll be opening an account with a different bank. So disappointed

Golden One itself is excellent. Friendly and efficient staff. The parking lot is a bit difficult to get into when busy.

Went in to open a new checking account and they were very helpful at getting me an appointment. A.J. was very informing when it came to talking about credit and helping me understand new banking terms! I really appreciate it and really excited to start using Golden 1. Thanks everyone! So friendly.

I have really tried to like this bank (credit union). Tellers here are personable and professional, and if you don’t need anything except a teller, you’ll probably be fine. But if you need anything that requires a competent banker, god help you.Ajeet is the manager and he must’ve been hired because he knew someone high up. He can’t do ANYTHING at all without consulting Ray (assistant manager) or pushing it off onto someone else. I needed a signed verification statement from the bank with my name on it less than 30 days after opening my account and depositing tens of thousands of dollars. Nope. Not gonna get it from Ajeet. He can’t even be bothered to call his own G1 customer service number and figure out how to do that. I had issues with sending money. He didn’t know how to fix it so told me nothing could be done. I insisted that’s not how problems are solved. After 10 minutes of arguing, he finally called the customer service number for his own bank. Luckily that person was more interested in solving problems than Ajeet was. Ajeet couldn’t even open a basic account (2nd account, they already had all of my information). I had to make an appointment to come back because Drey (personal banker) wasn’t there. Drey opened a 2nd account in approximately 5 minutes. Ajeet is the MANAGER and doesn’t know how to open an account! He knows NOTHING about banking. He doesn’t listen to customers and can’t understand until he calls someone else who explains it to him like he’s five. How did he get that job? It drives me nuts. I just go to Ray or Drey if I need something because I know Ajeet is a total waste of time.I needed my 2 accounts to be linked so I could transfer money back and forth without physically going in to talk to a teller. Nope. Apparently nobody knows how to do that. So it took me an extra 4 business days waiting for small deposits to hit my account to verify my first Golden1 account with my second Golden1 account. Again, all things that competent bank staff should know how to do instead of a “manager” telling me it can’t be done.I have spent FIVE HOURS at this bank in the last week trying to resolve issues that the bank staff should 1) know how to do and 2) should be able to fix when I bring it to their attention. These issues were not complicated. I addressed them in advance so that it would be done by the end of the month when I needed it to be completed. I communicated to staff what I needed and why in advance and still there are issues that they either created and/or insisted can’t be fixed…only to have someone else fix it later. Each time I have gone to this bank, staff reassure me that my issue is resolved, and I leave only to find that it wasn’t resolved, and in some cases made worse. Then I have to find a way to fix it myself, or by calling customer service and begging them to try. It’s ridiculous. I should just stay home and call customer service, because they can usually help and the bank staff at this location usually can’t.I like that there’s free checking, and that’s the main reason I opened an account there. I thought that a smaller location might provide personalized customer service. It’s not great. I need more than a friendly face—I need someone who can solve problems and set things up properly in the first place. It’s really not worth the frustration, to be honest. Again, if all you need are basic teller services, you’ll be fine. The parking lot here is terrible and the ability of employees to provide services is not great. Another location with competent staff might be the way to go. But don’t waste your time with these clowns, because they really can’t do much except the bare minimum.

Abysmal hidden policies and terrible customer service! Last summer, my car broke down and I had to finance my new one. I pay an extra 10% to each of my payments and often pay them in advance, which, among other methods, is how I maintain an 820 fico for the past 10 years. So, you can imagine my surprise for getting penalized for paying in advance. I received a "courtesy call" yesterday (5/24) that my payment was 6 days past due. I replied: "what do you mean, I'm paid through July." Evidently, according to Golden 1's "policy" despite sending in coupons from my payment book, to take early payments as a principal reduction and because of this, I still owe. Note: I have already given a principal reduction in each payment. The policy (unbeknownst to me) is that early payments (even when accompanied with a payment coupon) are taken as a principal reduction. I asked to speak to a manager and the customer service rep got flat out argumentative. I then restated the scenario and that "if I had known that what was their policy, I would have never financed with them." The rep got more argumentative. I responded empathetically: "I understand that you have to reinforce policy, but I am not going to argue. Again, please have a manager contact me." The rep became even more argumentative, so I had to hang up.I have never seen a Credit Union have such abysmal policies and terrible reps. I have never sued anyone in my life, but I find this scenario so reprehensible that I will pursue whatever legal and consumer reporting means I have at my disposal to challenge, as today's world has far too many big corporate bullies.

I hate this credit union. I've been a member for over 20 years and they stole my PPP Loan out of my account and still have not released it even though my weekly pay is deposited in the account for over two years. They have yet to release it. Anyone experience the same thing please contact me. I've found an attorney willing to help. There's an opportunity for a class action lawsuit

Terrible service. Will hang up the phone on you during a call with bad audio and will not call you back. Juliana hung up on me after a 15 minute wait to have to endure another 15 minute wait. Don't bank with these clowns.

Suitable to satisfy most banking needs, but not a branch I'd go out of the way for. For the most part, I just use their ATM. A not-so-convenient location and inconsistent service work against them. I've been in the door twice now and both experiences were vastly different. On one occasion, I waited in a line of two people forever for the only teller on duty, who was not the friendliest person. On another I came in at what I thought would be a busy time and the place was empty. In and out in less than a minute and a friendly teller to boot. The biggest thing against this branch is the parking. It's a lot on a busy intersection across from a busy hospital with one entrance that makes entering and exiting awkward and somewhat dangerous.
