The staff at Natomas Veterinary Hospital are very friendly and extremely helpful. They make sure I understand and am comfortable with all procedures. They never try to suggest procedures that are unnecessary. They truly care for the wellbeing of my pup.

They are so awesome. My dog is getting the best service and the fees are very reasonable. The ladies in the front are such a joy to talk to while waiting for his appointment. Both Doctors we have seen are so sweet to my pup. Thank you so much.

I took my dog here due to a bump that formed on his paw that he kept licking. I was almost positive it was a foxtail that had gotten stuck in there because it's happened once before and looked the exact same. No other vet was able to see him on such short notice other than this place. The receptionist was friendly. When I arrived and met with Dr. Anna Amend, she told me that it looked like a possible foxtail issue. Rather than putting my dog under anesthesia and getting the foxtail out, her plan of action was to wait and prescribe him 2 weeks worth of antibiotics along with soaking his paw in a water epsom salt mixture. I was apprehensive because in my past experience with a foxtail, the vet had immediately proceeded with doing the procedure to extract the foxtail because they can travel fast and become even bigger problems. Anyway, I was charged $132 for a 5 minute visit with the vet and some antibiotics. A couple days later, I noticed the bump had grown larger despite doing everything the vet said. Concerned, I called the clinic and the receptionist let me know that Dr. Amend was not there but we could be seen by Dr. Teri Pate. When we came in, Dr. Teri Pate looked at his paw and said "yup looks like there's some pus there" and then proceeded to tell me she would not do the procedure and to continue the antibiotics and soaking. She said foxtails do not travel fast at all. She was slouched over the table with her hand on her face, as if she was on break. Very unprofessional. I was charged $45 for her to do absolutely nothing except tell me to continue doing what I've been doing. I was obviously frustrated because my dog was clearly in discomfort and I know for a fact waiting would make matters worse. Either these so called veterinarians are not competent or they are just trying to rip off their clients. I took my dog to another clinic and told the vet what happened. He was shocked at how horribly they handled the situation and informed me that they should have done the procedure the very first time I took my dog there. I would stay far away from this place. They clearly have no clue what they're doing and charge a fortune to do absolutely nothing to help your pet. By far the worst veterinary clinic I've ever encountered by a long shot!

My family has three households. Natomas Veterinary Hospital is where we feel confident to take all our pets to keep them safe and healthy. We trust the staff of the hospital to advise us of our pets need's and comfort. Our pets are family and we love them so much we want the best care we can provide for them all. Thank you NVH for helping to keep our family healthy and happy

In order for myself to come on Google and utilize my time and effort to review a business, there is either one of two things that occurred, the business was absolutely exceptional with amazing service or the business left a foul taste in my mouth. For our family, it was the latter with Natomas Veterinary Hospital. We have been bringing our dog, and more recently our cat that adopted us, for over a year now and it has been a mix of different emotions with trusting them to care for our pets. The staff is generally very friendly, but over the time of bringing our dog in with some health complications she has been suffering from it has become increasingly noticeable that they have more of an interest in financial gain then actually accurately diagnosing.Let me begin with the first example. When we first got our pup, we purchased the puppy plan to ensure all preventatives were taken care of to ensure her healthy. She began to experience GI issues a few months after and there was never any type of urgency to assist in proper diagnosing, and rather an urgency to have us come in to charge us an "emergency same day visit" that would be outside the plan and with no form of discounting even while on the plan. They would perform stool/lab samples at full price, which wouldn't be an issue if there had actually been some guidance or relief in such. In the end, we just continued to switch and experiment with foods that may benefit her until we finally found one. We have avoided them for the most part since this issue, but since there has been report we decided to bring her in for the most recent issue. This issue has been ongoing since May after she spent some time at a doggy daycamp. Understandable that she would catch something, even though she is completely vaccinated for everything under the sun to prevent it, however it happens. The issue is that we have had absolutely no answer into what is actually happening with her and we just continue having to bring her in for misguided diagnosing instead of a sense of aggressive treating to get her to feel better. I had taken her to VCA emergency hospital when it first began and they performed x-rays, blood work, gave her medications all to rule out anything serious and be able to diagnose kennel cough. Well, the issue wasn't relieved and she seemed to be declining, so I took her back to VCA and they performed a more extensive imaging of her ear, nose and throat as well, and due to the first visit not being successful in treating they didn't charge the visit cost and only the cost of the ancillary services (x-rays/stronger medication). At this point the issue was temporarily relieved and all seemed well until last month when she began displaying symptoms again. So, we brought her back to Natomas Veterinary Hospital and she was "examined" with the diagnosis again of kennel cough being given. Fast forward to last week, her symptoms have gotten worse and my wife decided to bring her back as we are trying to get some form of answers as to why after weeks she is not having relief. They went on to finally perform x-rays and give an antibiotic, even though they are saying it's viral, in order to try and help. There was no acknowledging of us having to continuously spend hundreds of dollars every time we are bringing her for them to give absolutely no type of treatment plan or relief to the symptoms she is having. This visit cost us $400+ with the x-rays costing $250, which is just as much as VCA emergency hospital. Please explain to me how a primary Veterinarian charges as much as an emergency/specialty hospital? Or how they continue to think it's okay to price gouge people that have to continue to come in for services that should have already been rendered? This place, unfortunately, is a giant let down and will just continue to milk you of money to profit their private business verses actually caring for your pet.

I appreciate them always being able to get us in quickly! Been here many times with multiple pets and I always get what I need. Seems like they have a lot of different veterinarians working or maybe a high turnover rate but nevertheless, they're always very imformational and helpful and kind!

their attention to detail is lacking . their lack of direction in the treatment options was disappointing. I expect a professional veterinarian to at least suggest what would be the best course of action not leave it me to diagnose and suggest treatment. 69.00 for an office visit and 103.00 for a nausea medication injection ! and then not to be given a suggested course of treatment other than ...call an emergency vet .. no phone numbers or names of "emergency vet clinics "... were offered either. sad attempt at caring for a pet during regular business hours.

My friend recommended this vet as she is close and I needed to vaccinate and chip my frenchie. The online registration is simple, you can even upload your pets previous vet records. The office staff will reach out to take a $69 deposit for new patients which will be applied to the visit fees. They have a 24 hr cancellation policy and if you do not give timely notice the deposit is non-refundable. This all seems pretty reasonable. We saw Dr. Pate our first visit at the end of the day and she was extremely patient with my questions being that it's our first family pet. She gave several food and treats suggestions, training tips, common health issues frenchies develop and how to help prevent them. You can tell she is an animal lover by the way she let our puppy kiss and cuddle her and she never flinched. The front office staff and vet techs are very kind and welcoming as well. We will continue to visit this vet.
