Rainbow Electronics is awesome! My amp was having some issues, but it was still under warranty. Rainbow was the closest authorized repair shop, so I brought it to them. They were extremely communicative and patient with my questions. They were also extremely fast, getting the work done in half the time they estimated it would take. The best part is that the issue with my amp is now totally fixed and the amp sounds better than ever! I will absolutely be bringing my gear to them from now on, and I don’t even live nearby, but it’s worth the drive - that’s how good they are!

Friendly, knowledgeable service at a reasonable price. I trusted them with an expensive Roland synth, and they came through. They're also an authorized dealer for a number of brand names, so ordering parts is no problem. They're the place to go in Sac!

I have a small problem with an electronic musical device that cost me $75. At 125 per hour plus part cost, plus taxes this place is out of touch financially. 20 years ago places like this would occasionally do a small job like mine is, for free. Unless your rich, steer clear of this place.

Been here 3 times, had repairs done twice - the third was too expensive at the time (Carver A-753x). I give 4 stars because the work is VERY good. Quality techs and they do really understand the electronics they work on. Fair value, and yes they are expensive because they don't hire cheap monkeys with soldering irons. I cringe at the price, but I know professionals are worth the money. I had them repair a very old McIntosh pre-amp years ago in their old location, and the latest repair was a Simaudio Moon Aurora 5- which was expensive, but considering the amp cost more than an entry level car when new - I was ok with the repair and it runs cleanly years later. They even offered to cater the tuning and performance to my preferences. All in all, I feel you can trust their work on vintage and high end audio gear, be prepared to pay for it - and I am very pleased since everything they've worked on for me has lasted - as my Moon Aurora 5 was repaired pre-covid and thankfully so - I had a lot of free time to listen alone. :)

On fender's webpage for warranty repair this location is listed as a place for you to take you're equipment fixed when I called fender to have a new guitar repaired under manufacture warranty ($1500 guitar was missing a screw at the bottom of the guitar string and volume knob was loosen from the side) when I spoke with the fender customer service repair rep he mentioned to contact this location and they will repair it at no cost. I contacted this location and the gentleman over the phone who answered said they only repair Fender Amps/pedals and they do not fix/repair guitars. I understand but if that's the case then this location should not be listed under "guitar warranty repair centers" and more Fender customers should not be sent this location. This company needs to contact Fender and have them take Electronic off the repair list so future customers don't go through this issue. Fender will be getting the same review from me as well.

These old timers lack the business sense and patience to earn any more than 2 stars from me. I really wanted to like this place, as they have been in business for so long and I have alot of work for regular electronics repair and cleaning. However their $110 bench fee that they charge in order to give you a price to do the work is non-refundable and they won't honor the price they give you to complete the work. It cost me almost double what they estimated to clean a piece of equipment, and waited until the job was done before calling to let me know how much more expensive it was going to be. When speaking to the lady on the phone, after the work was done, I was appalled at the price and lack of communication. I told her this felt like highway robbery, to which she responded with sonething like "ya, pretty much".when I returned to pay and pick up my equipment, I felt obligated to politely express my honest opinion and disappointment. but the owner, John, would barely listen to me and persisted to talk over me. I felt like I wasn't being heard, and that he really didn't care. When I said that I felt that customer service should be of higher priority, he replied, "all that matters is the money".The folks here are too close to retirement to really care about customer satisfaction. all they care about is charging their customers as much as possible, as evident by the many other negative reviews I should have paid closer attention to.

I'd like to thank Rainbow Electronics once again for keeping my equipment working. I've had them repair brands such as Halfer, BGW, DBX and most recently one of my Bryston Amplifiers. The team there always communicates the issue that is found, returns the old parts and remains professional. Even if they've had to spend additional time to achieve the necessary results they stay true to the original estimated amount. Thank you John, Robin, Hubert and Robert.

This review may be hard since the lady who works there was very nice and kind every time I interacted with her by phone or in person. But there is a gentleman who is really disrespectful and rude at best. He wore a hat and glasses when I interacted with him, and perhaps my only real contact with him was during this incident. He had no sense in listening to someone's concern and literally told me, "We are done here!" after explaining my concerns. The way he delivered these words was condescending. The whole time, the lady was witnessing this, and I saw her jaw on the floor and could not believe even herself. I have to be honest; I couldn't run to the front door any faster and could not even respond to the lady when she said, "Thank you." I'm not foreign to being disrespected since I work at a hospital. But I don't know if this is a chronic behavior from this particular gentleman because the level of disrespect shown was appalling. Also, my amp sat for two months while waiting for a part. I understand they have no control over shipping, and I was patient with the wait. But for the whole two months, I had no calls from them, at least informing me that the part that needed to be replaced was back-ordered. Zero communication, even the day when I picked up my amp. The whole time, it was me that have to call them and ask about the time frame. Someone's future experience may be a better one. And I hope so because being disrespected when all you need is your amplifier working right after waiting for two months is misplaced from a store that deals with customer service.

I had them give me a quote on fixing a vintage guitar pedal (it was an easy 10 minute solder job) and the price was outrageously high. I am sure they do great work, but holy heck are they expensive.

Huburt did great work on my Mcintosch 6200 integrated amp; smooth work flow also. I blew my neighbor out this AM to test it. (I did warn him though!) tx to Robin too.

Took my small Bose 901 speaker equalizer in for evaluation. I did ask initially if the caps are bad and need to be replaced, how much would that cost? They refused to give me ballpark estimate and told me it would be 4 weeks before they could evaluate the unit (and I paid my $110.00 up front). Nearly 6 weeks later I received a call quoting me $470.00 to replace the capacitors (around 12 of them). That’s massively expensive!!! I can pick up a replacement unit on Ebay for $250.00. I feel I was duped out of my $110.00 evaluation dollars because I firmly believe they CLEARLY knew how much the cap replacements would cost and out of pure greed, would not quote me. I seriously doubt this is the first Bose speaker equalizer they have worked on in the many years in business and how would they not know what they have charged for capacitor replacement in the past. Right? Had they been reasonable and told me the just the caps would be nearly $500.00 dollars to replace, I would NOT have left the unit for repair and shelled out $110.00 for evaluation. However, they didn’t do that! Just scummy practices…..don’t support a business like this! Much better places out there…….
