Overpriced and won't even do a nail trim without a $65 annual exam even though my cat is up to date with his exam at another facility. Just trying to get your money. My cat was injured at a groomer during his nail trim earlier this year, it was devastating and scary. Because of that I've opted to go to a veterinarian for his regular nail trim. His regular vet (who I changed from you because of your price gouging and all around lower standard of care) did not have an appointment until mid September. Thank you for your condescending advice, but feel free to keep it to yourself and reevaluate your customer service.

It's wonderful to be in a lobby and reception area strictly reserved for cats. The vets and techs are very good with my Calico that doesn't like to be held.

We've been taking our kitties here for years. The staff are all excellent. While it's probably on the pricier side, we know they give our cats the special care they need, especially since both are now senior kitties.

They are simply the best. I've never had a vet give such attentive care!

If you share your life with a cat, River City Cat Clinic should be your choice for care. Like the name states, they only treat cats. Which means they are experts when it comes to diagnosing and treating our feline friends. Additionally, everyone there is friendly and professional. I have had two cats that they have cared for, for everything from a nail trim to end-of-life issues, and I am so grateful to have had their support and expertise. I live in North Natomas and pass several other vet clinics on the way to River City Cat Clinic because my cat is worth it.

Dr. S and her staff are angels and gave our little old Lady Keeper the best care imaginable even though Keeper's kinda spicy. Along with kidney disease, constipation issues, and a myriad of other conditions, Dr. S always respected that Keeper's quality of life was the most important thing to us and always gave us various treatment options and explained which path she felt would maintain or improve Keeper's quality of life which often times meant discouraging us from pursuing the most costly of options. Which brings me to my next point, Dr. S and her staff were so understanding of the financial burden that comes with caring for a chronically ill pet and would frequently apologize for the cost of a test or medication (even though these things are out of her control). Lastly, I so deeply appreciated how all of her recommendations were based on research she'd done and would inform us about what the literature suggested and that was sooo helpful! Unfortunately, we had to leave the Sacramento area and are having the hardest time finding a cat clinic with even half the heart and care River City gave our girl.

Terrible experience here trying to get my cat's skin problem addressed. They prescribed Prednisone pills and it didn't help but they kept wanting to see him for follow up appointments for no reason other to say, yep, not getting better, charging $60 a pop. Finally they refer me to a dermatologist who doesn't return calls to schedule an appointment. Pathetic waste of money. My new vet is performing an allergy blood test and advised that Prednisone should be taken for more than a week or two so why did RCCC have my cat on it for almost six weeks? Why couldn't RCCC do an allergy test or give an anti-inflammatory injection like my new vet? Avoid this place if you care about your cat and/or wallet.

We recently became cat people. We have two cats and the second one came to us as a stray with a clipped ear. We took our new found friend to River City cat clinic. The care at the clinic is just awesome. You make an appointment, you show up, They check in your cat, do the work that they need to do And give you your cat back. For the preventive work that we needed it took about 20 minutes. Even in these times of Covid, They treat their animal customers so well. There is not a lot of stress for the animal, the rates are fair, and the time spent is minimal. I have a friend who goes to Ban-field. Not only do they pay a quarterly subscription, but when they bring their cat in they drop him off at eight in the morning, he is put into a cage and they don't see him again until four or 5 PM. And this is for shots! That is insane. I am very very very very happy with the service at River city, and I would never take my cat for care anywhere else. I highly recommend River city cat clinic.

I have been coming here for check ups and most recently for my cat who was very sick. Thanks to Dr Lara and staff she is doing much better. The staff is always great and the doctors take the time to explain everything and answer any questions I have. I'm very grateful to have a clinic I trust with my cat's health and will continue to come here. I definitely recommend this clinic for your cat if you are looking.

(EDIT for the 4 (5? I lost count) responses Wendy has made. My first time posting on Yelp, not sure what I was expecting but it wasn't blood-sport level of interaction. We have 3 toddlers so this response is limited to their patience level) I was on a deployment in January for the military, the dates shifted several times and it's true we were forced to alter our cat's appointment. We really tried having her seen as my wife and I both understood the cat's meds would NOT be refilled without it. I tried explaining the deployment/cancellation aspect to Wendy on our call but she just laughed. Not sure how to read that. Actually I have to laugh, I'm not sure how confrontational one can be during Covid, since you hand your pet through a window and everything else is handled on the phone. Plus her front desk admin (Jayna?) is great, and was very sympathetic when I picked up Tigra. The only other person I interacted with was Wendy...it was not a great conversation. But not so bad I would've told her we are taking our business elsewhere. Especially since our cat is not well, and requires constant medication. We did glance at her other comments though (basically: anything other than a 5) and if you choose to do so, bring water, you'll be there a while. If you question her like we did she judges you and well, does whatever this is. Anyway, this has been an experience. To recap: after several years of decent service we were suddenly asked to leave, had privileged information posted here by the Vet to include the cat's medical records. She removed the medical record after I told her to do so (probably illegal?) But the sensitive personal and financial information is still there, yay. Please, read through the other poor experiences, compare it with ours, draw your own conclusion. ------------------------------------------ Original post This review is painful to write, and I have to admit we don't typically review but felt we should. We live in Land Park and have had our cat, Tigra, a patient here for several years. Over the past year we have declined several extremely costly procedures we felt we were (potentially) unnecessary and not financially realistic. Today, after confirming those decisions "Dr" Salaguinto asked us to leave, and we did not argue. I would not send my worst enemy's pet here. I hate the negativity I'm using here, but I'm also trying to save someone else from the trouble we have faced. We got the feeling, once they knew expensive procedures were not possible, they just wanted us replaced by someone who might pay for them. -Tigra's family

River City Cat Clinic was amazing when my little girl broke a bone in her paw. They took care of her like she was their own. She’s all fixed up now. The cost was very reasonable, at the end of the day. Not to mention, it was all done while social distancing. Would definitely recommend! Big thank you to their wonderful staff! ❤️

River City Cat Clinic is the only place I trust with the health of my cats. Today they were able to help with my cats ear infection. Due to covid 19 they have a safety protocol set in place that allows you to drop your cat off at the office and wait in the parking lot for answers. While it's hard not physically being there with my cat in the exam room, I am calmed by the fact that they will not have to encounter any doggos or other animals while they are inside. I highly recommend River City Cat Clinic to all cat parents.

Recently moved to Sacramento, one of our 2 cats develops symptoms of lethargy, a fever, dehydration, refusing to eat. We took her into the UC Davis Emergency clinic on Sunday morning. They checked her out, and feel that her symptoms are consistent with Pancreatitis and to get her into a vet for care within 2 days. I find River City Cat Clinic online, which is great, as I've taken our girls to an all cat clinic previously. I call the clinic, explain what is going on, that the emergency clinic said to get her into the vet as soon as possible for ongoing care. They refuse to see our sick cat, but they will put me on a wait list, and possibly see her in about 2 months. She says she can give me numbers to emergency clinics. As I told her, we've been there and need a vet. So much for being compassionate, as it states on their website. Stay away from this place!

I brought my cats here today as a new patient and I am not disappointed I am extremely pleased with Dr. Quinley. She was able to answer all my questions And concerns and took the time to explain everything to me. She let me know that I had options based on my cats life style instead of making me feel like I have to over vaccinate my cats. She was not pushy And did not try to sell me on anything like recommended food, supplements or meds. I read previous reviews about River city cat clinic being expensive and I disagree this clinic is actually cheaper than my previous clinic. I hope that my future visit will be as wonderful as my first. I'm happy I made the decision to bring my babies to a feline only clinic.

River city cat clinic has been the primary vet for my household and I’ve never been happier with a pet clinic. My eldest cat had not been to them yet until recently and they do such a good job being thorough, conscious of budget and just all around friendly. I never worry about the well being of my cat when in their care, as they truly treat every pet like one of their own. I’m also horrible with pet stress, as it really makes me anxious. They do a great job answering all my questions and making me feel at ease. There is no cat clinic I would recommend more than River City Cat Clinic.
