My wife and I spent months finding a qualified instructor for our child and without a doubt we made the right decision with Eric. We both highly recommend him and can't say enough!

If you are into rock this place is nothing short of authentic. My son learned bass guitar here and my daughter learned acoustic here as well. Going up a generation I've been learning the electric acoustic and how to put music to my own lyrics. It's been a great experience and Eric is the by far the best guitar instructor I know. He gives clear and practical goals and you learn to put out music faster than you expect. If you are looking for a guitar teacher that knows their stuff and is fun to learn from this is the place hands down.

I love Sac Valley Guitar! Eric has been like family for two generations now. He was my son's electric bass instructor and my daughter's electric acoustic guitar instructor. They loved him and thought he was the most fun music teacher they ever had. Today Eric does my guitar lessons as well as coaching with putting the rurig music to my lyrics. It's always been a pleasure working with Eric and I don't expect to stop anytime soon. Rich is also great, he helped me tune and string a guitar out of nowhere just to be polite whiIe I waited and gave an interesting history lesson as well. Clearly the instructors here know their stuff.

I decided last year to learn Bass Guitar, and Sac Valley guitar was the only place I could find a Bass instructor. Now back in the 70's I played drums and studied piano under a Julliard graduate for a while, and in the 80's I took guitar lessons as well. One of my guitar instructors back then had taught Joe Satrianni, so I've had some good teachers. My Bass instructor has them all beat. Rich Shepherd has taught me more about music and why we play the notes we play, than all of the previous instructors combined. Stuff I didn't even learn in high school music or band class. He's also made the lessons fun and interesting. He has a very deep understanding of music having been a performing (and recorded) artist. He has definitely filled a lot of gaps in my knowledge and improved my studies. And again, it's a heck of a lot of fun going to my Bass lessons he's a great teacher.

Eric Morrison is an amazing guitar teacher. He knows all about guitar theory and knows how to break it down and make it fun for his students. If you really want to learn how to play and understand guitar than you should definitely visit Sac Valley Guitar.

Okay, to start, I have been a student of this man for five years. In response to the previous review, I must say it is not supposed to be a music store. It is a teaching school with a few things that you may need, along with a few guitars. And when I say a few things you may need I mean that if he notices that your strings are old,he will offer to put new ones on. All he has to do is pick some up from his cabinet of products and puts them on. The strings are at a discounted price and, because it takes the whole lesson to restring and tune and stretch the ned strings, he gives you a free lesson. I think the former reviewer didn't stay long enough to get the experience I recieved.

I've been taking my two 9 year olds to Sac Valley Guitar for for guitar lessons for about the past 6 months. I got them guitars and a promise of lessons for Christmas gifts and they have been happy with it ever since. My kids absolutely LOVE Eric (the owner) and have both shown so much improvement and enthusiasm for playing. My daughter plays electric accoustic and my son plays electric guitar. My son likes to play classic rock and my daughter is more into country. I must say that he's done an excellent job at teaching both of them to play music they both like and it's refreshing when we're at home to hear them practice with melodies that I recognize as music I've listened to rather than countless hours of Mary had a little lamb! He does a lot for his kids and seems to genuinely care how well they do. He even does things like booking groups of kids real gigs so they can play in front of audiences which is a fantastic motivator. Honestly, it's not the biggest place, but to me that's great. I'd rather have my children have a 1 on 1 relationship with their instructor than be another number in a crowded overly commercial environment. If you want a music teacher for your kids that will help you feel like you're not just dumping money into another fad your kid's going through I would deffinitely recommend Sac Valley Guitar hands down over any other music teacher my kids have worked with in the past 3 years.

I'm well acquainted with most music stores offering lessons and instruments in Sacramento. This place came to a surprise to me, especially when I heard it had been around for at least 3 years. As a music store, there is nothing here worth stopping in for a visit. Occupying the upstairs of an office complex, the store is sparcely furnished with anything beyond a few folding chairs and one display counter. The "waiting" room for parents had what looked like an abandoned couch to sit on and a water cooler. There are "some" guitars in a small room but nothing interesting and quite honestly, there were only a handful of them. I came there to get drum lessons for my son and only remained for three lessons. The lesson room was very inadequate for the purpose. Only one drum kit and two chairs. It didn't even have a music stand! The teacher was nice but not sure he understood how to communicate, plan, and teach younger kids. If you need to use the restroom, you have to go out the front door (outside) and down the walkway to a restroom shared with the rest of the tennants. Not the type of room you send your kid to alone. The organization of the place felt chaotic and lacked the polish you experience in other music stores in town. Parking is available but the spots nearest the business are all marked with signs reserving them for the other businesses in the complex. When asked if I would get towed if using them after 5pm, the answer was "you should be okay". The website maybe out-of-date. If you're looking for a music teacher, chances are that whoever you see on the website may not actually be teaching there. I wonder if the owner(s) can see why these type of things would steer a paying-parent away? It's sad. By in large, from Arden to Folsom Blvd there simply aren't many places offering music lessons. Though perfectly positioned, Sac Valley Guitar is far-short of exploiting an area full of potential.
