"This" is supposed to be a "college" bookstore??? In all fairness ... It is seriously understaffed (as far as "intelligence" is concerned) as well as the number of employees that were on hand ... I personally was given a hard time just to pick-up some books ? that I purchased online (which included being misinformed by both a regular employee and a supposed "manager" that my items were not available ... when it turned out that the items were right there on their unorganized shelf the entire time) ... It's a "college bookstore" which translates to being swamped on the first day of classes ... However ... The rude and curt comments from the employees revealed a lack of decorum and professionalism that would (not) be acceptable under any circumstances ... (The last thing that they expected was that their behavior would be publicized in such a manner.)I noticed that their were plenty of (non-educational) merchandise (e.g., t-shirts ... food and beverages) ... Whereas ... half of the shelves for textbooks were empty ...Be aware ... They have the pick-up items categorized by the (order number) ... (not by name) even though the email instructions state to bring an I.D. ... If you do not have the order number ... The staff will tell you that your ? are not there ...

Line is quite slow at times, don't expect to get out fast if you have somewhere to be. I can tell they have a mix of complexities with staff, patrons, and their system. However, based on experience, if there is only 1 staff member at the register and a person comes up with a unique issue they could be there for 5, 10, or even 15+ min. I think the whole process here needs to be rethought or some changes need to be made.

Good luck to anyone who decides to work at that place. There is a very nasty store manager there and she WILL yell at you for the most simplest of questions. Not to mention you will only be there until the "rush" is over and then let go. Schedules do not get sent out until the last minute of Sunday night. You will NOT be fully trained and just expected to know just about everything in that place. They do not pay attention to who comes into work and who does not. You could basically go on break and then never come back. If getting yelled at about a customer question is something you enjoy then sure go ahead and sign up to join the team. Or if you also enjoy not receiving a call or updates on a schedule then this job is also for you.

I personally enjoyed buying stuff from here. I highly highly recommend that if you are going to buy books from here that you sign up for the school’s program EOPS to help you throughout the school year with a bunch of things like classes, book assistance, supplies, and more. Other than that picking up the books were easy and confirmation of pick up only took less than a day to a day through email.

Aweful. The school is overwhelmingly filled with sketchy homeless and people that don't belong. Also a lot of drama ...like people WILL try you here eventually no matter what... A lot of losers only here for fanatical aid... Also it's pretty obvious that a lot of the staff are on hardcore drugs...its sad because I am a former foster youth...went here as my first community college in sac...so I got financial aid, however am actually doing school. I will never forget how embarrassing it was and the way that the financial aid workers were talking CRAP ABOUT STUDENTS ON EOPS RIGHT IN FRONT OF US!!! In my mind : ( I'm basically an orphan...however am academically competent/ more than capable of getting degree...I wouldn't have this option without EOPS / Grants for former foster youth... OF COURSE WE (the poor but hardworking and intelligent) NEED THESE FUNDS. Anyways, YES there was pizza YES they gave away free backpacks with supplies However it was sooooo uncomfortable for me anyways because as I sat at a chair and chatted with another student, I couldn't help but overhear the blonde older fake teeth financial aid lady talking a lot of crap about how the students were basically bottom feeders and to not worry about color just grab a backpack for the freeloaders. In fact it was so awkward after the REQUIRED orientation, I walked off and never came back. I don't care if I'm poor / don't have a family You will NEVER talk s*** about me and other students for attempting to finish my education when I otherwise wouldn't have the resources. Shame on you Sac city for having such low standards and choosing to bombard the library with bums rather than putting student safety first. Very low.

Don't waste your time on the nail tech program. They don't even prepare you properly for state board. The instructors are more concentrated on the cosmetology program and getting them through than nail tech.

Staff have become lazy. No one answers the phone and to speak to a counselor about classes they ask you to book an appointment online and when you go online to book an appointment all the slots are filled and it tells you to check back next time. This has been ongoing since LAST year so don't blame pandemic. LOL WHAT A JOKE.
