Was buying my son’s first car. I trust Sacramento Specialty Automotive 100% to check the car out to see if it is a good purchase. They checked it out in every possible way and told us it was a great car to buy. It was so mentally reassuring to know their knowledge and expertise cleared to car for our purchase. I'll start by saying I honestly didn't want to write a bad review for this place but the owner has been unresponsive to my attempts to contact them regarding my dissatisfaction. I brought my car in for a new transmission and they gave me a quote. I explained to them that we had a trip planned and that I'd only want to sign off on the work if they could assure me it'd be ready in time. They promised it'd be done the week before my trip so I went ahead and paid the deposit. I heard nothing from them the entire next week, and I had to call them on the day before we were set to leave on our trip. They informed me the transmission had been delayed and my car wouldn't be ready in time.
Since this was less than 48 hrs before our trip we were unable to cancel our hotel and other reservations. We were left with the choice of renting a car or wasting the money for the reservations we had already made, and so we rented a car for the weekend. The next week the transmission finally came in and was installed. I asked about getting the cost of our rental covered and was offered $100 off. I asked to speak to the owner and they said they'd talk to them for me, and came back with an offer to pay for half the rental.
To top everything off, when I got my car back, it immediately blew a seal on the freeway and sprayed diff oil everywhere. They towed it back to the shop and redid the seals, but it really does make me wonder about their QC process since I literally drove 5 miles before it happened.
I've since attempted to contact the owner directly with no success. All I've asked for is for them to cover the expense of our rental, $400 off a $4000 work order. Had they been more communicative earlier on, or had they not over-promised the timeline, we could have canceled our trip and wouldn't have had to rent a car. I don't believe what I'm asking for is outrageous, and the bottom line is that I'm dissatisfied with how it all was handled and the owner has been unreachable.

I finally found a Machanic I can trust. I knew what was wrong with my car before I took it to them. They did an inspection on the vehicle and found and fixed everything upon my approval. My car runs like new! I hope I don’t need them soon and I’m sure I I want. But when I need some work done that’s where I’ll be taking my cars.

My family and I were driving from Seattle to Orange County when we noticed something was wrong with our car while passing through Sacramento. The team at Sacramento Specialty Automotive were incredibly helpful and kind. They diagnosed the issue and got us back on the road, and had a comfortable lounge for us to sit in while we waited. Great service and friendly people- would highly recommend!

I was just passing through and needed help checking a few things on my car. I called 8 shops before talking to Alex at Specialty Automotive. He got me in right away and their knowledgeable technician was able to give me piece of mind for the long trip home. I love that they didn't try to pressure me in to any repairs and they were very transparent and honest. I don't trust a lot of people to work on my cars, but I would definitely take my vehicle to Specialty Automotive again!

Best mechanic service I’ve ever got! One person at the front desk could use some work to be honest. Anticipate clients needs, be friendly. We lived very for away and had much more work that needed to be done, we only found out about the other work when we picked up the vehicle. If I knew about all the extra work I would have had it all down here cuz they are so good. When I brought that up the front seat lady looked at me like I fed something up. Your job is customer service! And to get as much business for your company as you can. You missed out on a lot of business and annoyed your customers.

Incredibly helpful staff. Efficient with assessment and labor. Great communication. Able to get in quickly for service. Affordable.
As a Mom living across the country, it is nice to know my young adult son has a place to take his vehicle that can be trusted and helpful.

Excellent customer service. I told them my concerns, they diagnosed and provided their recommendations. So pleased I was referred by a friend. They have drinks and snacks free of charge! They also have a shuttle service! Nothing to complain about! I'll be back!

Excellent service. They get the job done fast. Will come back again. Also, as a person who is hard of hearing, I didn't know that they have email/text message option which I preferred. I was impressed that after their diagnostic, they send me message that listed all of recommended repair along with all of the quotes. Love it.

I have been going to Joe's shop for over 17 years. This is my is my 5th Subaru and I wouldn't trust my cars with anyone else. He and his team know their Subaru cars and how to make them purr. I know when I have work done there it will be done right. Great job guys!

Little background on me - I grew up in Texas. Family immigrated to Austin in 1907. They have their hands in a lot of industry, automotive repair is a good chunk. I can tell you, SSA reminded me of being home. They made me miss home. They were how we all must be - honest. I took in my 2014 Mazda 3 SGT for an eccentric voltage regulation issue. I knew this electrical issue wouldn't be as cut and dry as replacing the alternator+regulator because of the vehicle's proprietary i-ELOOP system - the one time a man doesn't want to be right .The shop tech even reached out to his close friends who are direct Mazda techs and they reassured him models like mine don't come in often and when they do, they are an electrical nightmare. I went out of town the day I dropped it off, they replaced the alternator same day but the issue still presented itself. They spent 3 more days trying to figure out the problem. When I gave them a buzz when I got back in town, they advised me of the situation and tech suggested he put in the old altenator since the new one wasn't the fix. Knowing the car isn't worth much, I agreed to opt out of the other repairs their VERY thorough inspection (with clear, detailed photos) discovered and I requested I pick it up. I was expecting to pay some labor fees but tech, without me asking about dues, mentioned since they didn't fix the issue, they are not charging me....nada. zilch. ***Let this be a lesson to all other shops and businesses alike!*** Their integrity, honesty and determination to fix my problem were stellar. This is how people used to be - dedicated to helping out others in the communities and being honest about it.
He has the car ready shortly after. From here on out, they will be the shop my friends and I will call! And shout-out to Jackie for always be on it and helping facilitating my experience there. ??

You did a great job, you listened to my concerns about the noise I was hearing from my front left wheel and you fixed it in jiffy. Plus you replace some of my lights with led bulbs, what a difference! Now the dear are going to see my coming before I can bring home to fresh venison.
