Besides the great deals you find here and there and decent prices for everyday essentials and certain food items, it's fine. However, their food court is ridiculous! One thing must always be broken, if not soda machine, then soft serve or icee machine. It's silly how you are required to scan your membership just to buy food court items also, like seriously? Service is always SO SLOW at the food court! Need better and faster service! We waited in line for over 15 minutes only to be told hot dogs were out and soda machine was broken, at least put up a sign! Come on management get it together!

We've stopped at this Sam's many times and there are certain things we like to get from Sam's vs Costco. Some examples are their wings (that tend to be bigger), heavy whipping cream (which they sell in smaller containers with a longer shelf life), and their chips and snacks. Of course we always find fun things and if we spot a deal we'll take advantage of it.Our experiences at the store have always been good and the staff on multiple occasions have been friendly and made us feel welcome as shoppers. My last visit I stopped by the gas station here and had the worst time. There's always a line of people so you feel the pressure to get in and out quickly and efficiently. Usually my husband will do the gas, but this visit I was on my own and he warned me sometimes it takes a couple swipes for the card to register. That was an understatement. I swiped the card more than ten times (the way it showed on the display) with it not registering and then started trying other ways, I turned it around, flipped it upside down... it would not work. I pulled out, very frustrated and called my husband who said the reader is just finicky.Round two, I looped back around and tried again, this time I was determined. Fifteen or so swipes in FINALLY! It registered! I didn't do a thing different but I guess their cards or their machines are just not compatible. I gassed up and have vowed to never get gas at Sam's again, I'll let my husband deal with it.

I go to Sam's club usually once a month, I do prefer the snacks they have compared to Costco but I prefer Costco rotisserie chicken it is Bigger and taste better. Sam's club is always good service and clean. Oh and the part where you can check out on your phone is pretty awesome

My rating is more like 3.5 but I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt. This Sam's is the closest one to me and so I frequent here often. Some things I've noticed. The first of the month I recommend coming during the weekdays around midday. If you come on a weekend it's a nightmare. Their gas is always at least a penny cheaper than Costco. Their food court is smaller than others and the line can wrap around the backend of the store so I highly recommend using the scan and go option on their app. You order food from your phone and go straight to pick up. No crazy long lines. Their credit card is pretty legit too, between the cash back percentages and no APR. Staff must have changed a lot cause I've had really pleasant experiences versus some of these other reviews. I also love that they have premade sushi! It makes perfect lunches for the kids and myself. Some downsides....their gas station can be really packed and sometimes pumps are closed off. Today the entire gas station was closed for an inspection. While the store is mostly clean the bathrooms are often not. They do not have an optical area here only hearing aids and pharmacy. And the one that really bums me out is there specialty meats and cheeses. They are really lacking when it comes to selection compared to Costco. Overall since it's literally 5 minutes from my house, I'll continue coming here with just the occasional trip to Costco for my cheeses.

I ordered groceries today via InstaCart from Sam's. What I did not realize is that a package of tomatoes on the vine is three times the size of the package at a regular grocery store. The same for a package of asparagus- for under $8, I got a package of beautiful asparagus large enough to feed a family! Needless to say, I did a lot of meal prepping today! I used Ina Garten's recipe for oven roasted asparagus. I also wanted baby carrots to put into snack baggies for lunch and ended up receiving a giant bag- so I divided them into the snack baggies and have them ready to go in my veggie drawer. The same with the celery stalks- ready for controlled snacking...but wow, this was not what I had planned on doing today but I save a boat load of money!

Good experience at the gas tank, gas prices comparable to Costco. Easier to get into and less lines for the fuel station at Sam's.The store reminds me of a glorified Walmart; I believe they are sister companies. Lots of bane brand snacks, goodies, candy and other food items. Low selection of clothing. Great selection of jewelry with created stones, some real stones and high end purses. I need to go back to check it out during the week, when there is not so many people. It was overwhelming to shop on a weekend. I purchased a membership midday on a Saturday, the wait was about 30 minutes as returns and member services are all in the same area. There were only two employees on the member service area, not enough for a Saturday, likely a very busy day.I'll try again the update my review.

I've never shopped at this Sam's Club. I usually stop for gas when I'm in the area. Getting in and out the parking lot is so chaotic and gasoline pump lines are always long (compared to other locations)This Sam's Club is on the border of South Sac/Elk Grove on Calvine Road. It's a very busy intersection and area... you just have to be extra alert coming and going from this location.Otherwise, can't be too upset when saving money on gas!! LOL.

One of the few Sam's club locations in the sacramento area. This location is not very crowded and always well stocked. The gas station is always decent as far as lines are concerned. Service is friendly and the food court is good too.

Not too far from Costco in the area. Like less than 2 miles. We came here to activate memberships that I didnt for over 6 months! Lol. 6 months of membership elapsed as I dont get out or care to be with crowds these day plus my busy times with my business and how much I need to sell off. At least the membership was basically free or I would care more on the loss of value. $45 membership. $40 GC and bonus welcome package of items = more than $45 paid. Lucky I find these deals. Hehe.Store is as any other. Quiet. Medium traffic on a weekend. Not bad but only will stop if in the area for other things with gas at puking prices.

Oh my.. haven't been back in four years.. I used to shop here frequently because it wasn't as busy as Costco and the lines for gas were never long. Today the son and I came in to specifically get my coffee maker (to keep down here when I'm in town). I also found a great Henckels self sharpening knife set ! Ironic, I always used to see one of the meat dept. employees here and would always say hi.. Now she's at my Sams in Reno too.. Small world..

Their Tire & Battery Center is just awful. Nobody's answering the phone! And if by some luck somebody answers, they will say they will transfer you to the "correct" department even though you selected the correct department when you called! Lazy employees!

I am very late filing this complaint, I guess, as I can't find it in your records. About 2 years ago, I got my eyes examined at Engstrom's Eye in Roswell for glasses. When the glasses arrived at Sam's, they were totally, totally off. I had to argue w/ Sam's optical staff that the glasses were not right! Like I don't know how well I'm seeing?! This would have been Oct. 2019. Optical staff finally listened and returned the scrip. They said if the scrip had been written wrong, they would remake the glasses for free. Turned out the scrip WAS written wrong. Engstrom's rewrote it for me but when I returned to Sam's, the optical dept. gave me a hard time. They refused to make me new glasses immediately. Insisted that I try wearing the original glasses for awhile, even tho they didn't work for me. And even tho I told them I was about to leave town for a 3-week road trip. They didn't care! On the trip, there were a lot of times I couldn't see well. I had constant headaches from trying to. Have never returned to Sam's for my glasses. I get both my exams and my glasses across the street at a PROFESSIONAL practice. Sam's should be ashamed!! This was my first and only trip to CA, and their staff ruined it for me!! I really bear hard feelings over this, over 2 years later.

Easy parking, easy in and out logistics on a weekday morning for order pickup. The customer service exceeded my expectations when the representative there went out of his way to replace my damaged order with a non-damaged item. He even escorted me out so I didnt need to go through the normal exit line. That was awesome. Very easy to find someone for help and very professional customer service.
