I've been here a few times before and tried a couple of items. I had a simple avocado ? toast. This Cafe has 3 different Avocado toast options which is great but, it's a distance from my office. I have to be willing to walk around our consistent campus construction to partake of this menu and today's the day. In the past, I wasn't eating meat for a while so, I had the basic avocado toast with everything but, the bagel seasoning. It's good but, definitely something you can make at home for less than the $5 cost. I purchased a tuna melt last time I was there. I should have ordered the tuna sandwich instead because I think I prefer untoasted bread when I eat tuna sandwiches. Soft is better. Today I had the avocado toast upgrade that is topped with a sliced boiled egg, and chopped bacon bits along with nothing but tge bage seasoning as well. I would have loved a breakfast sandwich but, this toast did the trick. A perfect combination. I ended up cutting it in half & making into a very full half sandwich with toasted bread, avocado, bacon, and hard boiled egg.It was a great breakfast for a whopping $6.79 it was definitely worth the price. I am sure I'll have it again 1 day but, not too often. I have been avoiding & minimizing how much delicious bacon I consume for health reasons. So, a little on occasion is absolutely fine with me.If you're ever at the UC Davis Health Sacramento Campus, look for the Scrubs Cafe in the Medical Education Building & try this awesome avocado toast but, MA it your own. ?? Best thing I've had from Scrubs Cafe East.Vegetarian options: Veggie Burritos ?, Veggie Sandwiches, Pastries, and other items.Parking: Parking on-site is horrible and hard to find. You could park at the main medical center structure and be charged for the amount of time that you are on-site. If you park there you have a good 5 minute walk across the street past all fenced off construction diagonal to the medical center tge medical education building sits on the corner across from the grassy field that connects to Shriners Children's Hospital.

I'm surprised there are not lots of 5 star reviews. It's a quick little place to grab a bite. Our pear salads were FANTASTIC. The coffee was great. I looked at the fresh sandwiches they were making and I'm wishing they did not close at 2pm because I'd come back for a sandwich. Im going to recommend they CLAIM their business and post better pictures of their food because people are missing out here.

Horrible customer service. I walked in and was greeted by no one, when I was finally acknowledged all I got was a "go ahead" umm okay, I ordered my and left. Very rude people

Walked in with my wife. No greeting from Elijah the server nor any of the 3 young ladies working. My wife and I waited for someone to ask if they could help us - no one asked. I asked for a Sausage and egg sandwich and was not very politely told by Elijah they stopped serving breakfast at 10;30am. Did not see a sign anywhere posted saying that. My wife and I finally decided on a Santa Fe Turkey for both of us. I must tell that I've sampled food from all over the world, but this sandwich was by far the worst food I've ever eaten. It was tasteless, the bread was not fresh, we were not offered any mayo or mustard or anything else to add to the sandwich. Needless to say we won't be eating here again.

Came here while post call, ordered a double espresso over ice and an egg and cheese breakfast sandwich. Somehow the guy gave me a single espresso (hot) and a sausage egg and cheese sandwich. He recognized the hot/cold drink issue and gave me a cup with ice in it. But by then I was in such a rush I didn't open the sandwich and discovered the meat after I'd gotten to my meeting. Come on people, I was awake all night doing my job, please wake up and do yours.

A very nice, sunny Cafe conveniently.located near the med library. The cashier who was working both times I have been there is also incredibly sweet.

Panini's are delicious! This is great place to stop by & avoid the huge lunch lines. It can get a bit crowded though at some intervals. The staff is very friendly & when you go in a few minutes before closing time, you may get offered free iced tea (since it's thrown out regardless).

Waited in line for 20 minutes while the lady tried to figure out how to make a ham and cheese sandwich for one woman and a mango smoothie for the next guy...... I don't even want to know how long it would take her to make a salad with chicken on top or what I would actually end up with.. Pretty absurd considering the location.. Dunno how you guys who are forced to eat here on a regular basis cope! I left without even ordering. I'M HUNGRY!!!!!!!!!

Me: "Hi, how much is the holiday pumpkin coffee" SEC: "Uh, not sure" Me: "Well...can I still order one?" SEC: "I actually don't know how to make it. The girl that's supposed to know how isn't here" Me: "Alright, nevermind, just a normal latte" SEC: "Oh, so that's not really working" Me: "Just a normal coffee then" *hands over credit card* SEC: "The card reader has been weird lately, this might not work" By far the best thing about Scrubs East Cafe is that they buy their baked goods from somewhere else. The almond croissant here is actually sooo good. It has been part of my pre-exam morning ritual for months now Pro tip: even if you don't see an almond croissant, just ask. They seem to store most of their pastries in a box in their back fridge

Oh Scrubs East, what to even say about you. I appreciate you a lot-- you've saved me when I've been starving and there has been no free food to be found at any lunch time talks, but you would not survive in the real world. I'm sorry, but the fact that you live in the Medical Education Building is probably the only reason why you're even still alive. Why, you ask? - Cost: Your prices are way too high. Salads, sandwiches, paninis-- they're all way overpriced for what you actually serve. The only thing that's maybe cost-effective is the soup. As a result, that's what a lot of my friends/colleagues end up getting-- not because it's delicious soup, but because that's where you get the most bang for your buck. - The cash register: It seems like it's constantly having issues. If you can pay with cash, I would, just to avoid the hassle and extra time spent waiting for the cash register to figure out what the heck it wants to do with your card. - Hours: Closing at six is kind of a bummer sometimes. Other thoughts: - I can get cups and utensils and napkins for free-ninty nine. (And they're compostable!) - Soups are improving in flavor-- the Santa Fe on Mondays used to be completely lacking in flavor. Now the Santa Fe is halfway decent! Keep it up! - Paninis are yummy! (Though still not worth the price) tl;dr: Scrubs East, you're a little pricey for every day eats. But desperate times cause for desperate measures, and I do appreciate that you're in the Med Ed Building. Beggars can't be choosers.
