This Target is pretty small, but it is great for picking up things here and there. Target has great prices on their store brand items, so I specifically go there to buy things like bandaids, ibuprofen, etc.I really appreciate that this location exists because it's conveniently in walking distance if I need something.

What happens when you open a CVS in downtown Sacramento, but you stuff it with everything from Target and use their branding? You get the Midtown Target. It is the smallest Target store I have ever seen (even smaller than the one in Oakland BY FAR)! But make no mistake, this store features almost everything that an ordinary Target has, but in a tiny package. They also offer parking on the building's roof.It manages to keep the same layout and decor of a full sized Target. The only difference is the grocery section is L-shaped and the electronics and toys sections are in the middle, near the toys and home goods, while the overhead signage that tells you the sections are red versions of what you see in the grocery section. They also were able to stuff a full sized CVS section and Starbucks counter. This place is great for the apartments and hotels nearby, where you simply come in, get what you need and leave. The carts are also mini-sized, even though the aisles are slightly smaller, but not as small as the Safeway in downtown SF. The checkout stand is almost like how CVS does theirs, with 3 checkout stands on the right, and a few self-checkouts on the left. The price is what you expect from any other NorCal Target, electronics are expensive and groceries are similar to Safeway. As a visitor to Sac, I haven't noticed any rudeness from employees, and they were eager to help at the checkout, even when they announced they were other self-checkouts.This is such a novelty of a Target, you should check it at least once.

Would be nice if they had more than 3 cats. I only go here if I only need 1 or 2 items because they never have cats or baskets available and only 1 cashier working

Target, even an urban mini Target like this one, has it all. Food, clothing, laundry wash, skin wash, tooth wash, pet shampoo and greeting cards. Even booze. What's more to want?

Prices are sky high at all these bigbox junk dealers, Target is the worst offender. Why pay a premium for slapshod plastic junk, high priced/low quality electronics and cheap threadbare tshirts? All made in the ccp or krapistan or wherever. It'll all be falling apart within a year, and then you must consume some more. And stop putting up the Xmas displays before Halloween for crissakes. Ridiculous. As always at these places, staff are checked out if not outright obnoxious. Bad value. Bad experience. Bad company.

I'm grateful for this Target near downtown, but there are some caveats and shopping here can be a bit stressful. The store is smaller and more cramped than your average Target, but that's understandable given its location. I've also had a few frustrating experiences. For example, once I was looking for a wrap for my sprained ankle, and the shelf was empty even though the app said they had three in stock. I asked customer service if they might have them in the back, but after looking it up, the employee said no, shrugged, and said, "No, they probably got stolen." All three of them? Okay.Another time, I'm pretty sure I heard someone doing drugs in the customer-side chair of the pharmacist booth after the pharmacy had closed. I'm not sure if this is a regular occurrence, but it's definitely something to be watchful for. There are always all kinds of folk in this store and they're not all shopping. I recommend shopping here before dark and/or ordering your items for pickup ahead of time to make sure they're available.Despite the challenges, I still appreciate having this Target nearby. It's convenient and has a decent sized selection of products. Just be prepared for a some chaos given its location on the grid.

It's like they took a regular store and shoved it into a space 1/4 the size. So it has a little bit of every dept. Not all items are available but there is the bonus of having groceries in this neighborhood store. Very convenient.

Options are limited and I haven’t seen much put out for customers. Best time to enjoy the shopping are in the mornings. Other than that, it gets hectic.

great to have permanent stalls for drive up.... Get the application, select, pay, and it's there for you without the hassle.

Went to the midtown store on 17th and J. It's like they took a whole size store and shrunk it down to about a quarter of the normal size but being that it's a neighborhood store it has some groceries and has small clothing section basically most of the other parts of the regular store but just abbreviated that's really nice and clean easy to get in and out of there

Pretty standard small-format Target. All the essentials. The good: very well-kept for an urban Target; zoned properly; clean; good serviceThe bad: the parking lot was easily accessible but the driveway is paved badly. I scraped my car really and when leaving at ~5mph; the wait for the call buttons was really long, even compared to my local Target in Portland that has half the store locked up.

Why can't you just ring me up. I don't work there. self-check out is ridiculous. Why do you pour out my coffee that happened today, September 7 2023 8:34 if you're a customer service person, just say yes sir, and do your job.

It's a Wal-Mart in Target clothing -- poor employee attitudes, a lack of training, and a "not my job" attitude that exemplifies what Target overall has become. It may be in Midtown, but the quality of the customer experience is definitely not what one would expect from an establishment that spends (wastes?) so much money of flashy "we're so cool" advertising. All in all, skip this place because (1) you probably won't find what you need, (2) you'll go through a lot of needless hassle looking for what you need, and (3) have to tolerate employees who believe that their job is to stand around chatting, instead of helping customers, and who, when asked to provide assistance, will give the customer a substandard attitude. Suffice to say that I'm glad I don't own shares in Target anymore.

Just call this "Target Express" or "Target Lite". Went in today since it was close by to get kitty litter but they didn't seem to have any pet supplies at all, so ended up going to the usual larger one. Needless to say there is NO music or movies available here, as you are reminded that The Beat used to be across the street and is now a useless BevMo.
