Excellent Mexican supermarket chain. I stop it every blue moon if there are meat specials in the ad online. Last time I went to town on Arroz con leche $1.99 lb. Bought 6 lbs. Staff is usually very friendly and it helps my conversational Spanish is pretty good. They also have a section with cakes, pan dulces and a mini food spot (burritos, tacos, dishes, chicharron etc.

Great spot for ingredients if you're making Mexican food. We love chili verde and love to come here for chilis and tomatillos. Great butcher shop, lots of produce. Prices are great - lower than Safeway. The cocina inside is great for cooked meals for a party. The taqueria is excellent also - delicious $2 tacos! No fancy stuff- couldn't find dishwasher pods, only soap. But Safeway is around the corner!

My wife and I partly shopped here because of its proximity to our home, and solely for that reason. Sadly this week will be our last time ever shopping here. In the past we have purchased carne arranchera which when brought and opened at home, it smelled awful; so we tossed it. During a different visit we purchased queso fresco and other goods. Once home my wife notice the torilla packet was expired by a few weeks but we gave the store the benefit of the doubt. This third, and our last visit we purchased queso fresco. Once at home the cheese had a funky smell and was extremely sour, an indication that it was past due. It is such a shame that this goes unnoticed and not held accountable, and partly because the demographic that shops here is conditioned to rarely speak. Raza, take your money elsewhere, they do not deserve our business.

La Superior Mercados is just the place to go to get whatever Mexican food you need/want. We needed to pick up some chili peppers, jalapeno, onions, cilantro, chorizo, pork, tortillas, etc. to make some Mexican food at home. But since it was early morning, we thought to stop in and try some of the breakfast items that they provide in their kitchen. We split a breakfast of Chorizo and eggs. Wow, it was great. A really big hot and delicioso portion, with the eggs and chorizo made on their flat iron grill, a scoop of rice, a scoop of beans, a stick of cheese, and a drink all for just $11. They have other plenty of good hot cooked foods in their deli to take home and/or to eat there. Their small dining area is clean and service is friendly, courteous and prompt. Beat the crowds of La Esperanza and try La Superior for an early morning breakfast before shopping.

I've been to several La Superior Markets and this one is the worst. The carnitas are dry and fatty. The Mexican pastries were very plain, hard, like they were old. The stores in Stockton and Lodi are busy and food is very good. Everything is cooked the day of!

Lucky me got to to experience a very rude employee in the meat department. He was upset that they left him alone in the department and decided to take it out me. Very unprofessional and just plain wrong. Even when I sided with him and told him hey I understand but there is no reason to take it out on me. I was more than patient waiting over 20 min to be helped and he refused to help me and called a manager to help me. This is literally right down the street and I now have to make my way to the La Esperanza and Safeway where they are way nicer to there customers than here. Guess what still waiting to hear from a manager and I'm not holding my breath. Good luck folks

Everytime I get the marinated chicken I tell them I don't want the assorted bell peppers they use in the marinade. I'm buying chicken not veggies. If I don't watch them closely they'll always leave them in and weigh it I've literally paid for a half lb because of how cheap they are. These are large strips that are easily shaken off. I cannot tolerate a cheap aways-trying-to-get-over business especially one as successful with several stores as La Superior

The good: clean, well-stocked, courteous staff, and not busy early on a Sunday morning. Tamales are $21 a dozen. I got a dozen pork tamales and they were fresh and reasonably good. The not so good: menudo had a good flavor but no hominy (grano) and the meat was all undercooked, including the 'pata' which was pretty much inedible. The worst of it was the 'pan dulce' which was clearly old and hard. You are not allowed close to the bread to make your selection so I asked the attendant if the bread was fresh. I asked her if it was from today. She said yes to both questions. I am bilingual, so it is not that she did not understand....she was not honest. I tossed the whole bag of pan dulce once I got home and tried to serve it to the family. La Esperanza a couple of blocks down had very good reviews for their bakery but when I got there at 8:00 am there was a HUGE line of people waiting to get in so I went to La Superior instead. My mistake.

Must Read!! I went there today 08/08/2020, around 1:45 pm. Wanted to order some food. I waited patiently in line for my turn. This other servant was just standing around and decided to help the new customer after me. That customer pointed at me that I was there first. This servant didn't seem like he wanted to help me at all. So I walked to him anyways and told him what I want. He was just standing there and throwing his Tantrum because he wasn't able to open the bag. Suddenly, he just left without notices. And the other servant didn't say anything and continually serving the other customers that was after me. Base on my experience, they are very racists to serve me because I am not Mexican. I am very disappointed of their attitude and behavior when I love Mexican food so much. I will never go back to that store anymore to support them hatred racist people ever again. It seems every time I go there, they will look at me and my husband like we don't belong there. We go there because it's convenient for US to grab some food or ingredients. No one shouldn't be supporting any store that has a problem with other race. Thumbs down for this horrified racists people!! No one shouldn't be treating the way how I experienced with them today!! Ungrateful people don't deserve community support at all!! Btw, they were spraying windex chemical over the hot food to clean the windows and the counter top. Screw them, there's nicer Mexican people on Franklin Blvd.. tons of them.... I wouldn't even rate them 1 star at all. Negative 10 star for sure!! I thought it to myself, "They don't deserve my money here based on their behavior!" I walked away and left...

This place has everything you need; fruits, vegetables, meats and a restaurant inside of there. The one thing that makes this place my go to is their bread. Very fresh and delicious.
