My wife and I were skeptical at first given the cult-like following of Orin Swift. But through the stories and labels, Izabella was very knowledgeable and showed the approachable side to the Orin Swift brand and winemaker Dave Phinney.

I'm a sucker for a great story and experiencing the start of Dave Phinney's career, was a great story to learn. The tasting room is a collection of beautiful selection of his collection, which give a sense into his tongue in cheek humor and approach to winemaking. His story reminds me of the following quote, "Success is always a matter of some luck and timing." -- Kathleen Kennedy

Came in with a group of 5 at 3:45 on Friday. One of the 6 main seating areas was taken and the rest were empty. One of our party wasn't planning on drinking and wanted to sit (he mentioned to the hostesses that he was recovering from major surgery) and we went to the bar to ask about moving the walk-in tasting to one of the empty seating areas (note, they don't accept reservations after 3:30 so these empty tables would be empty the rest of the day). I don't think I can quite capture how rude they were when trying to "explain" why our friend could sit alone but our party couldn't join him if anyone wanted to do a tasting. Ended up having two of us who were going to join the tasting cancel and sit with him. More than that loss, we were really excited to visit here because we used to buy Machete by the case - if this service reflects the values of the winery, we probably won't ever buy another bottle.

Absolutely awful experience. No sense of customer service. Ladies are not welcoming. You can't sit to have a tasting unless you pre-book an experience. The worse experience I've had in a long time. Wine is a service industry. Please either decide to have wine to taste or don't.

Awful service. Half empty store, and the rude host said they could not manage to serve a flight of wine.

A Masterclass in Wine Tasting: An Ode to Ian SeletzkyDuring our recent visit to Orin Swift Wines, we had the immense pleasure of being hosted by Ian Seletzky. From the moment we stepped into the charming world of Orin Swift, Ian greeted us with an infectious warmth that set the stage for an unforgettable experience.Ian is not just a host; he is a master storyteller, weaving tales that bring each wine to life. His knowledge of Orin Swift's products is unparalleled, and he shares it with such passion that you can't help but hang on every word. With each pour, Ian detailed the intricate process of winemaking, the unique characteristics of the grapes, and the rich history behind each bottle. His storytelling transported us to the vineyards, and to Dave’s memories (the origin for all these inspiring wines). What truly sets Ian apart is his ability to connect with his guests. He tailored the experience to our interests, making us feel both valued and understood. His recommendations were spot-on, perfectly aligning with our tastes and preferences. It was evident that for Ian, this is not just a job, but a passion – a passion he shares generously. The wines themselves were a revelation, each sip a testament to Orin Swift's commitment to quality and innovation. But it was Ian's presentation and profound knowledge that elevated the tasting from a simple indulgence to a sensory journey. He has a unique talent for making complex wine concepts accessible and engaging, ensuring that even novices like us could appreciate the depth and nuances of each glass. Our experience at Orin Swift Wines was nothing short of magical, thanks largely to Ian Seletzky. His charisma, expertise, and genuine love for wine and people make him an asset to Orin Swift. We left not only with bottles of exceptional wine but with memories that we will cherish for a lifetime. Ian is more than a host; he is a true ambassador for the art of winemaking and the joy it brings.

Any wine touched by Dave Phinney has and will always be a top prize winner in my book, and the brand new Orin Swift Tasting room in St. Helena is no exception to the perfection of his brands! I travelled from the East Coast and was only in the Bay Area for 30 hours and this was far and away the highlight of the entire trip. Right out of the gate, Izabella made me feel not only at home, but like a long lost friend sitting back down at the table to get lost in stories of the wine and the wonderful people behind it. She went above and beyond to provide me an exceptional experience and showed a deep understanding and passion for the wine, it's history, and it's legacy. I cannot recommend enough a trip down to the tasting room in the gorgeous setting of St. Helena. Set aside a few hours, clear your plate, and open yourself to a wonderful day with friends or a treat to yourself with the finest wines Napa Valley has to offer. A big thank you again to Izabella and the staff at OSC for leaving a great mark on this enthusiastic traveler and lover of wine. I will definitely return and look forward to my next tasting adventure!

Beautiful place, not bad wines, good feel inside, but only until you talk to a lady by the counter. OMG, hospitality most definitely shouldn't be her thing. The responses to few questions were so unwelcoming that we just turned and walked away. Not used to being treated like that in St Helena.

We have been to Napa many times, and this was probably our best tasting experience in a long time! We signed up for the Scissors tasting, which is in a private room and features exclusive wines only available in this tasting. The room decor was fantastic and fit the wines and the art focus perfectly. The winemaker went to painstaking lengths to create a very unique and awesome room. The wines were equally fantastic, as OSC always is. Most importantly, our host, Ian, was excellent. He really knew the history and details of OSC, but he was also a lot of fun. His presentation was perfect, not too serious and never pretentious. He also found the perfect balance of telling us stories and entertaining, but also allowing time for our group to talk and enjoy the wines. We can't recommend OSC and this tasting enough. We also really appreciated how a great host can make or break the experience!

I was disappointed in the wine tasting . We use to love Orin swift but this felt like the cooperate takeover they are! They are not near as friendly and personal as many vineyards in the area are. Also I can buy their same wines in my home town much cheaper . That was very disappointing to me . Why would I pay more here and pay for shipping when I make a journey across the country to patronize them . A lot of vineyards will comp your tasting if you buy there wines . Here they want to to spend $300 per person to comp the tastings. Go some where else on you trip to Napa .

Best wine tasting experience we had in Napa. Beyond the wine being great, our host, Dave I believe, was AN EXPERIENCE. I apologize if that's not his name. He's a skinnier, white male, grayish hair, who's turning 60 this year and worked on July 3rd 2023.I learned so much from him. He was personable and had us laughing while being the most knowledgeable guide about both wine and the company.Due to him and the quality of the wine, I will certainly recommend Orin Swift to my guests dining over 1000 miles away

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Orin Swift yesterday- Ian was amazing and as to be expected, so was the wine. We were excited to try a few of the wines that we'd never hd before and they did not disappoint. I loved all of the stories about each bottles name or label had a cool story - my husband who is a graphic designer was in love with everything and if you ever read this Dave Finney, he would love to have a glass of wine or bourbon with you - thanks for the excellent experience and the excellent wine
