We visited St. Helena. As part of this visit we enjoyed seeing the amazing art work at The Christopher Hill Gallery. They focus on contemporary artists.

My wife and I are familiar with many of the better galleries west of the Mississippi and the results hang in our home. We recently stopped by Christopher Hill's gallery and saw several paintings that caught our eyes. We don't impulse buy - over the years our paintings become old friends and we're careful with our selections. We returned two more times and bought not one, but two paintings. Christopher was a marvelous host. No pressure. Relaxing visits. And Woodson, his Samoyed, can be there sometimes to greet you. We highly recommend Christopher's gallery, both for the quality of the works on display but also for his welcoming style.

I, Sandt Litchfield, am one of the artists showing my paintings in the Christopher Hill gallery. I’m glad I landed here since it appears to me to be the best gallery in a town, Saint Helena, CA, of many good galleries.

The staff are so kind and fun, makes the entire experience so refreshing to other art galleries, plus an amazingly broad and beautiful collection of art. Highly recommend.

The art in this gallery is great...innovative but also things you can actually put on your wall. The owner is nice and friendly. We ended up buying a picture which we are really happy with.

As I was walking up the stairs to the gallery; I noticed a cute white dog. I made a little call to the dog as I walked up and the man working the desk (gallery) said not to call the dog down. It was an uninviting experience. If you don't want your dog called, don't have him by the door.

Christopher Hill bills itself as an "urban gallery in the Napa Valley" tho St. Helena isn't that urban. It gives off an urban, sophisticated air in the rural Napa Valley. The traffic&parking in St. Helena can be as problematic as San Francisco, so the comparison kind of fits. When it comes to Christopher Hill, I keep confusing them with the Christopher Queen Galleries in Duncans Mills on the Russian River. The Christopher Hill Gallery, unlike Christopher Queen, is centered on contemporary art. It's up a steep flight of stairs, but the journey is worth it. The gallery owners are friendly&knowledgeable. They have an amazing roster of artists in their collection/exhibitions- They have also been doing exhibitions to benefit wildfire victims, using art as a form of healing. It's an oasis of modern art off St. Helena's Main Street.

This is a very nice 2nd floor gallery in St. Helena that focuses on a number of very good contemporary artists. When my wife and I were there, we enjoyed talking with Mr. Hill and he showed us several very tempting pieces from his stock. I must say that I came dangerously close to dropping almost $3000 on a piece I particularly liked.Unlike many contemporary galleries, I saw a number of pieces that I would be very pleased to have in my collection. I feel that Christopher Hill has very good taste and that the artists he chooses to represent are well worth your time to consider. While this is not a large gallery, it is a stop I would encourage any art lover to make while in St. Helena.
