I bought a used vehicle from Mr. Rico at Bomarito's. I appreciated the opportunity to explore the various vehicles on the lot without the pressure typically associated with sales personnel. I found an SUV I liked with a decent price tag and proceeded with the purch;ase. Additionally, I opted to acquire a warranty for nearly $1,400 - just in case..
We arrived in the evening, and although it was dark outside, the interior of the vehicle appeared clean and well-maintained by its previous owners. However, i realized I was wrong, very wrong, when I inspected the vehicle in daylight the following morning . Concern about the purchase of the SUV began and escalated from here.
I continued inspecting and discovered that the vehicle had almost no oil ; Perhaps I am wrong to assume oil is included with the purchase of a pre owned vehicle, ( because a buyer would likely want to drive the vehicle home after buying it) . One tire was way overinflated while the other three were way under inflated .
The condition of the interior was, to put it mildly, appalling. To clarify, the interior was not ripped, broken, or damaged - it was disgustingly filthy. Excessively large amounts of animal hair in clumps filled almost every crevice, pocket, and fold inside the vehicle. As an animal lover who frequently travels with pets, I am accustomed to managing pet hair and the occasional mishap. However, the state of this vehicle's interior was something on a whole different level . I can only imagine what couldve happened if I had allergies to animal hair. Thankfully, that isnt the case.
One of the second-row seats had a substantial amount of what looked and smelled like dog feces crusted on to the area where the seat folds. This wasn't merely a small stain, but a mass roughly the size of the palm of my hand. The task of removing and scraping it off was thoroughly unpleasant, and I nearly became nauseated in the process. After cleaning and scrubbing it twice , a large, round brown stain still remained and crusted residue remained on the stitching (see photo ).
Regrettably, the problems with the vehicle didn't stop there. I subsequently discovered that the heater wasn't heating and the air conditioning system failed to start. Instead of activating , it simply blinked six times . Three weeks after buying it, the vehicle overheated during a three-mile drive to a local store. I was grateful for the warranty I had purchased, Until I realized that I had invested nearly $1,400 in a warranty that appeared to be largely ineffective. Only a limited number of repair shops honor the warranty and they aren't located near me . Can't drive a car that's overheating...i would have to pay the cost to tow it there anyway so might as well pay out of pocket and get it fixed locally.
So, less than a month after acquiring the vehicle, I found myself at a local auto repair shop, incurring a repair bill of $661 for the replacement of the heater hose, in addition to labor costs. While there, a mechanic at the shop informed me that sealants are often used as a band-aid to conceal more serious and costly issues in pre owned vehicles. In no way am I implying or accusing Bomarito's of using a sealant on the car I purchased.

Within a month of getting a car here I got a check engine light, so I contacted Noel and he send me to a mechanic named Victor who said nothing is wrong with the car and just rest the code. Not even a day later the light came back so I contacted Noel again and Victor came back just to reset the code again this time he mentioned there was a small leak but nothing major and he can fix it some other day so I agreed. A week after that I tried calling Victor the mechanic multiple times and he just avoided my calls so I contacted Noel to let him know. Noel send me with another mechanic to take care of the issue but this mechanic didn’t me to be around if I take the car, which idk why where I’m supposed to go and wait with no car. I was hoping they had a waiting room or something but no the mechanic insisted I walk back home till the car was ready. Months after that incident I saved some money to go service the car even though I still had a check engine light. I decided to take it to a professional mechanic shop not some random guys that fix but not fix cars Noel knows. At the shop I originally went to just get oil and filter service but while they did that I asked if they can let me know if there’s any other issues but just to service what I came for because I didn’t have enough money. The shops diagnostic showed 9 different codes all related to the leaks, of course I couldn’t afford to pay for the repairs and no dealership wants to trade or buy this car so now I’m stuck with a car that has a check engine light, leaks, oil runs out quick, when trying to accelerate on to the freeway the gears over shift and makes car have a late take off. I tried going to talk to Noel today but he’s no where to be found, I went in the guy told me he’ll be there in an hour came back he still wasn’t there, so waited another hour and nothing so left. Never write bad reviews else they deserve a 1 star. Noel do better thanks

No other dealerships in Salinas wanted to sell me a car. Only Bomarito motors did. This dealership works with you. Don’t go anywhere where else in Salinas. Great looking cars and great service from their employees. They can’t be beat.
