READ BEFORE PURCHASING A VEHICLE HERE - STAY AWAY:I strongly encourage you to reconsider purchasing a vehicle from any dealership associated with the Cardinale Auto Group.TLDR; another Cardinale Dealership location accepted (and sold) my trade-in vehicle and now refuses to pay me for it while claiming they have no record of the vehicle. This issue has been escalated to the local police department (in San Bruno, CA where this purchase was made). All of the staff members I worked with during my original purchase, including the GSM of the dealership, no longer work at the dealership. Current staff can not be bothered to help me solve this and have lied to my face on multiple occasions, including insinuating I am personally trying to do something illegal as well as claiming the old dealership staff paid me cash for my vehicle. I wouldn't buy a car from this dealership if it was offered to me for $1.On August 20th, 2023, my wife and I purchased a used vehicle from a Cardinale dealership in San Bruno, CA (a 2022 Honda Accord Hybrid). Our transaction was handled by Salesman Raj (Suraj Vishwakarma), Finance Director/Sales Manager Rob (Roberto Martinez) and briefly by another Sales Manager named Hameed Safi. I also now understand that Rob was working with General Sales Manager Tony Behari on this transaction. ALL OF THESE EMPLOYEES NO LONGER WORK FOR THE DEALERSHIP. During negotiations for this purchase we also expressed interest in trading in our current vehicle. After some back and forth we decided to not include our current car in the core deal (as I didn't have the title with me) but that the dealership would still like to purchase the vehicle from me separately for the same $2,500 we discussed as a trade as soon as I had the title. We were also told it would be totally fine to leave the vehicle at the dealership that day and the already had they keys (common car salesman trick of keeping the keys to the old car in their hand and the new car in your hand). A couple of weeks later (after constant communication with my salesman and the finance manager of the dealership) I brought in the title (wound up having to get it retitled with the DMV causing the delay) and signed a release of liability with the same finance manager Rob who I had continued to communicate with. He was busy, I did not get any paper work in return, receipt, etc. This is 100% my fault and was stupid, I know. But, I'm standing inside of a major car retailer that is a member of a billion dollar a year auto group, I assumed I had at least a TINY bit of trust (wrong) and could leave them in charge of my meager $2,500 trade-in.After I dropped off the title I proceeded to communicate with this same finance manager Rob for approximately 4-5 weeks, he was always "working on it" or "checking with the boss" on something and then finally last Saturday (November 11th) he calls me and tells me he no longer works for the dealership and that I would need to deal with the dealership itself to get my money. In a state of shock, I call the dealership directly and speak with a Sales manager named Liz, she says she will look into this and call me back (she does not). I call again, she says a manager named Ammal will be calling me. Shockingly, Ammal does not call. I call again and talk to Ammal, he assures me he is looking into this. He says he will text me and we'll figure out a time I can come in to speak to him. Nope, no call back. I call him again and ask when we can discuss in person, he suggests Saturday (yesterday November 18). I go in and he makes me wait around for an hour off and on before finally accusing me of doing something improper and telling me there is nothing he can do. The single worst customer service experience I've ever had. I immediately went to the San Bruno Police Department next door. Stay away from these dirt bags.

Buying my car was the easiest part! The sales man's are great at what they do. However I needed the front bumper replaced due to a crack it had prior to purchasing the car. Dealing with the service department is where the trouble began. The repair was only supposed to take a day at most as they already had the new bumper. Here we are on day 10. The service department does not answer their phones and when I was able to speak to someone it was their manager Marlene. All she did was blame their mechanic "Eli" whom I've never spoke too and continued to promise she would call me within hours for updates which never happened. I wish there was a direct way to speak her boss. It's a shame I'm making payments on a vehicle that don't work!

I searched the country for a very specific vehicle. I found multiple but the sales people were gaming and manipulative. When working with other sales persons , if they weren’t lying they weren’t talking. I found the experience at Cardinale refreshingly efficient and reasonable. Orlando and Rolando were professional and available when I needed help with purchase and shipping. Negotiation was quick and reasonable. Highly recommend.

The service team took very good care of me and my car and making sure I knew what exactly was wrong with it , since the place I took my car in to get the brakes done broke a piece of my brake sensor without telling me. They helped me get the information I needed.

Armando has taken care of us since day 1. He has gone above and beyond to make sure our needs have been met. If there's even an issue he's quick to fix it or do the best he can for us. I appreciate it Armando! Thanks for always taking care of us and finding the right cars that tailor to our needs.

It was the best car purchase experience we have ever had. No pressure and everyone was more than helpful. Now I just have to get use to all the bells and whistles in this new car.

Best car shopping experience in our lifetime! Tony, our sales representative quickly introduced himself, was so personable and professional. He quickly coordinated a test drive on two different vehicles so we were able to make comparisons. He was was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all our questions. Throughout the process Tony made sure we had all information needed to make a good decision.Armando, the manager was very personable, professional and introduced himself when we first arrived. Rather than the typical sales process where you go back and forth between your sales representative and the manager, everything was so well coordinated and efficient.Luis who was also very personable and professional was so efficient with explaining and completing financial aspects or our purchase.Steve, also very personable and professional provided the most thorough education including demonstration of all features of the vehicle to ensure we were well informed and had no questions. Steve emphasized we should never hesitate to call with any questions. Best and most thorough education we’ve ever had with a new car purchase. This is an outstanding team and we would highly recommend this dealership!

All of your staff I came into contact with were very nice and professional. Your phone system DOES NOT WORK. You need to start over again. It is not possible to call and get anyone to answer the phone. The best it offers is eventual redirection to voicemail boxes that you leave messages that only get answered less than 10% of the time. I left a lot of messages over many different days! I got only one reply. When Marlene called me, she had just gone through all her messages, and she only had the one for me so where all those other messages went to is a mystery.I had brought the car in for recall work on my 2021 ID 4. The car also came with the first two service calls included and I wanted to have the second service call performed. I also was having an issue with one of the front parking sensors and wanted that checked out since it is under warranty. I was told it would take two days. I was given an Uber to the other side of town to get a Hertz rental car at Cardinale's expense. When the car was not ready on the 2nd or 3rd day I was never notified and could not get a live person when calling to inquire. I was called on the 4th day (Friday) at end of business hours. I live 90 minutes from the dealership, so I had to make arrangements to pick up Saturday. They also said I can drop the rental car at the dealership because the local Hertz office is not open on the weekends. When I got into the car I was greeted with the "Service Inspection is Overdue" warning and of course the annoying "Parking Sensor is Faulty" warning that I had hoped would be all taken care of during the four days Cardinale had the car. Marlene nor any other Service Advisor was there on Saturday so I could not ask why I was still getting all the warnings.Marlene called on Monday to let me know she dropped all the paperwork in the mail so to look for that. Also, they did look at the parking sensor, but it is damaged "due to rock or other road debris damage" hitting the sensor. She could have it replaced for I believe $1,187 including all the calibration but it would not be covered under warranty. She also informed me that she would include the paperwork showing that it was damaged by road debris, and I could use it to file a claim with my insurance. My deductible is $500 so it sounds better than almost $1,200!It has been 14 days since she said she mailed the paperwork, but nothing has arrived yet. I have called and left several voicemail messages through your phone system to inquire if it was sent to my physical address instead of our PO Box, where we get our mail, but have yet to be able to get a live person and no voicemail message has been returned.Since no maintenance was performed and I wanted to replace the cabin air filter I found a forum on Facebook and it is simple to replace. I ordered a new one on eBay for around $20. I also looked into the parking sensor issue and found out that this was a common issue and a simple replacement. The parking sensors DO NOT REQUIRE CALIBRATION and I was able to order one on eBay for $14.69 including shipping which was quite a savings from the $1,187 or $500 insurance deductible I was facing.Right now, I will repeat that ALL your staff were friendly and professional, but I am very disillusioned and unsatisfied with Cardinale VW in Salinas. If you care at all you will do a major overhaul with your phone system and procedures in the service department.Best of Luck,Jeffery and Susan

I've been coming here ever since I got my car in 2018. They always take forever just to do an oil change. Recently, I had my car towed to this location. It took them 4 days just to do an inspection!!! Absurd amount of time. They got the inspection done in a few hours but they still did not prioritize my vehicle. They did not send me a video of the inspection either which they are suppose to do and usually do! My total ended up being ridiculously high and the labor cost was more then the actual part I needed replacement on. Which is again absurd. I'm never coming here again I will take my car to a regular car dealership next time. Don't trust them either that they actually preformed the complete inspection.

This entire experience was amazing. Buying a car is always tedious, but Orlando and the finance team made it as seamless as possible. I ran into an issue a few days later with the film not coming off the dash and Orlando replied immediately, I got it over there, and they took care of it. Great customer service and I love my new car!
