I was headed out for a weekend of camping, truck fully loaded with gear, when my transmission self destructed near the Market Street exit. It was real bad, like a garbage disposal that couldn't quite get into first gear. Then a beam of light came down from heaven and shone down upon Clutches for Le$$ (spelled like Ke$ha). Saint Fernando descended through the beam of light with open arms and was like, "I gotta a couple cars in the queue, but lemme take a quick look" He had our truck on a lift within 20 minutes and drained the remaining one ounce of transmission oil. Reminder to readers: check your transmission oil every 200000 miles or so. Upon disassembly, it was clear that transmission had ground away some critical internal components. Luckily, Fernando's BFF and across-the-street neighbor deals in used transmissions. We got out of Salinas the next morning at 11am with a new (used) transmission plus a couple other components for $1000.

Ok, this is my very first Yelp review. If you are lucky enough to live on the Monterey Peninsula and have clutch issues, look no further! The owner of this out-of-way garage (Fernando) is very knowledgeable (35 years working on every vehicle under the sun), straightforward, honest and reasonably priced. He is the ONLY ONE that said I did not need a new clutch at all. My issue was with the clutch pedal (and the mechanical innards) itself. A new clutch quote went up to $1500. This fix, wait for it...$425!! It may not be in the greatest Salinas locale but you will save a sh*tload of money, trust me!

I would totally recommend this mechanic shop to All people that are looking for someone that will explain & let you decide if extensive work needs to be done prior on doing the job. Mechanics are very knowledgeable & trust worthy!! Please continue to feel free to recommend

I can honestly say that this shop has what it takes to keep my vehicles running smoothly and safely. The personnel took the time to address my concerns and explain the repair process. My last repair was again a success, I needed brakes on my Honda Accord and I was in and out in about and hour. I have been using clutches 4 less for about 7 years and would definitely recommend to anyone.
