I am always looking for a place that has Falafel so when I saw it on the pictures outside I was intrigued. Checking on Yelp assured me I wouldn't be disappointed. I saw the menu that Helen posted but didn't realize it was from 2018. I went in hoping to order a bunch of things that they no longer serve. I did get a falafel, though, and my wife got a gyro, and I also tried a pupusa. The falafel and gyro were just as good as the place in Castroville, without the drive. The pupusa was made in front of me and was excellent! The lady was very accommodating, too. She had almost closed but was only too happy to fire things up again to cook for me. When I showed her the menu I wanted to order off of she just shook her head and said it was old. She did make me a carnitas taco (with a hand made tortilla) to eat while I waited, which was really good. Bottom line, it's nice to have good falafel in town, the food is good, the service nice and sweet. We'll be back. I've attached a photo of the QR Code that will get you to the current menu.

I happened on this place while driving around at lunch, and was surprised and enjoyed this meal. First off, this place is in a strip mall on N. Main in Salinas. The dining area is in the back of a bodega/liquor store, with a countertop where you can dine at. I saw the "Mediterranean food" sign up, so I had to try it, given so few options on the peninsula. The majority of the menu is Mexican fare, so come here for that too. The lamb slices were the star of the show, they were made and cooked perfectly. A little crisp, very meaty and savory. The rice was made like traditional Mexican rice and the salad was made before my eyes, with radishes, cucumbers, broccoli and other vegetables. It's pricey for halal food, but worth it. I'll come back for the baklava! Price: $25 (w/ 20% tip)
