I went to the Safeway store on N Main in Salinas, Ca searching for Le Brea cranberry walnut bread. I had checked a few other Safeways but to no avail.
Emily, an employee was restocking the Safeway signature brand bread and hadn’t heard of the product. Even though she was ensconced in her bread project, she retreated to the back to get info as to whether the store stocked it.
After my waiting for ten minutes or so she emerged with 2 frozen loaves which she had
rummaged for in the cold freezer.
It is rare these days to find someone as helpful as Emily. She went far beyond what most employees would have done. Her customer service was A plus. Thank you Emily.
I don’t often shop at Safeway, but if needing bread, I will definitely have Emily search for this elusive item.
PS:
I learned from a different employee that this bread was not stocked because they didn’t have a tag on the shelf for it. Strange reason. Print a tag.

Store employees are great. But the relocation of products through out the store is horrible. As a shopper there for years we knew where items were located. Now everyone wondering around like zombies. Dumb move

My mom and I buy meat from here all the time. Every time we buy meat, we ask for the service of having it sliced. Which is a service that they “proudly” provide. But every time we ask, the response is always “our machine is broken “. Seems a little strange that it’s “always broken”. One time when they said it was broken, the gentleman acted like he was doing a favor by slicing it by hand but when he took it to the back , we could see him using the machine to slice it. If it’s a service they provide , whether the employees who work there want to do it or not , they should provide it. If not, don’t offer that service to any one across the board!

This store has trended downward for a while. The non-managerial Staff are doing a great job but Management has failed this store for a while. Whoever is in charge of buying at this store obviously doesn't care. Always finding items out of stock, or no longer carried and the selection has narrowed to the point of it being only slightly better than a 7-11. This stores selection reminds one of Pandemic times. Hopefully Safeway will realize that this store is failing its customer base and bring it back from near uselessness. In the meantime, locals will continue to look for a better, more relevant grocer.

Feb 23 ~3:20 pm I was in self checkout and I needed help with re-weighing some zucchini. After being reasonably ignored for a couple minutes I asked the employee for assistance. They were so rude, in my face, and belittling my knees were shaking. It was really embarrassing being in front other people including my fiancé I almost forgot to say thank you. She reminded me of my mom and I understand she may have had a bad day. I am not a punching bag or a therapist and if I see that happening again I'm asking for the manager. I grew up going to this Safeway and I know lots of the awesome people working there over the years. My grandparents and mother still shop here and I will not tolerate this behavior.

My spouse and I alternate pick up for orders we place while at work. Almost 90% of the time pick up times are fast with great alternative subs. Very little do I find bad quality or undesirable subs. I love couponing here and I love the quality of fresh foods and attentive staff.

My go to grocery store. the employees are Super friendly, the store is clean and orderly. They have a large variety of Food, From potato chips to expensive cheeses. they also have a decent deli selection. can you tell this is my regular grocery store??
