I hate to admit how many times I have shopped here. In fact I made my weekly stop in here every Tuesday. My friend said he wanted to go with me. He told me to wait until next month so he could go shopping with me. I had to tell him there is new and different inventory every day, and if you see it, better buy it today because it won't be here next week. I have gotten so many good buys here. I love this place.

A year or so ago, I would have rated 5 stars. I have been coming to this salvation army for 15 years, at least monthly but more often weekly. As you can imagine, I have spent tens of thousands. I have always had a pleasant experience; that is until the mouthy black woman who publicly degrades customers and kicks people out and calls the cops for no reason. She told my boyfriend ( who was in the store) not to come back and I heard her say "that goes for your girlfriend too." I was in the car. She acts like she runs the whole store and she bullies customers and volunteers alike. I wish I knew her name. I have complained to corporate about her yet she is still there.

Since everything is so expensive now. I try to find bargains at seond-hand stores. I am not proud, but I expect to be treated with respect and dignity. Shopped at salvation army in salinas and found some stuff I wanted to buy. I proceeded to the check stand and asked the cashier, how much is this? First he said it was $3.99 then changed it to $4.99. I sort of flipped out, after all a dollar is a dollar. I wasn't very happy and asked to speak to the manager. The manager came out and said we will give it to you for $3.99 so you can pay for it and get out. The supervisor walked in the door at the time and asked what is going on here and made some comments also, do you want to buy it or not? If you do not want to buy it then just leave. I don't know how the corporate office could hire people like this, it is obvious they haven't been trained to there managerial and supervisor duties. They talk like kids in high school skipping class.

Purchased a lamp, 2 movies & a silverware holder all for $4 on 50% off day. 1 movie didn't work, however I would've paid $15-20 for the lamp alone so I am happy.

I have visited the store several times in the past month and I find it off-putting that a large group of ladies sit and converse on the store furniture awaiting the next shopping cart from the backroom to be brought out and they jump to their feet and swarm it (like vultures) to find their treasures before anyone else has a chance to see or purchase items. Also, some of the store employee's use VERY foul language when conversing with each other.I have donated to this store several times in the past. It was always my first donation stop, but in the future I will be donating to the Veteran's site "Last Chance" in Marina.

This is a nice thrift store. The items seemed to be in good shape. I was manly interested in house wears and found several of what I was looking for. The staff seemed really nice. There was a little girl by herself in front of me in line and the person at the register treated her so sweetly. Just for that reason alone I could recommend this thrift store.

The Salvation Army is an honorable organization that is committed to helping the financially challenged by offering merchandise that has been donated at low prices. This store carries on that tradition. It has a devoted knowledgeable staff that is always quick to answer a question or offer whatever assistance you might need. This is a good store.
