Hire more customer service please. It takes multiple attempts to get someone on the phone.
I moved twice while living in Humboldt and starting and stopping service was very annoying since no one answers phones or replies to the contact us messages on their website. Humboldt is like that overall so it is what it is... but I'm writing this review because before I got the chance to pay my final bill, they sent it off to collections without any notice, and by the time I got the first collections bill, I had already paid the Recology bill. No one to help me. Such a mess.
That said, the actual people I do get to talk to on the phone are very nice. But there needs to be more of them!

I would give a negative 5 if I could. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with in my life. They don't answer the phone they don't call you back. They don't try to help you at all. It's absolutely the worst customer service or lack there of of any company I've ever had to deal with. I would never recommend anybody have to use this company. Unfortunately, we are forced to.

Extremely difficult to reach. Generally pleasant when I finally can get through, but often have to call multiple times to get the promised service. If there were some competition they might be forced to provide better service but they're the only game in town

You're a trash company in a rural area - if you're understaffed enough that callers are facing *hour long* holds, hire more people. Massive wait times every time I've called. Received emails double billing me, trash cans were skipped, attempts to schedule bulky pickups - all of these should be quick calls to get things resolved, but nope.

I would give Recology Arcata 0 stars but that is not an option. My bill recently went up and I'm failing to see why. The trucks seem to come whenever they want and follow no time schedule. My recycling bin simply does not get emptied by the truck most weeks. Nobody answers the phone line. Very unprofessional when you do get a hold of someone. Waste of money. Horrible service.

We have lived at the same residence for 5 years and over the past 2 months, recology has not picked up our trash or recycling but have continued to charge us for the service. We have called multiple times but still have been charged with no service. Today they told us that our bins were not close enough to the pick up spot. We live in an ally and the bins are the same place they have always been. This has never been an issue before. They refuse to give us a refund for the services that were not provided. Customer service was rude and not helpful. Very disappointed but they are the only providers in town.Service: Trash removal & disposal

Since January, we have had to replace 3 $25 combination locks on our trash area. Today, after purchasing the third lock yesterday and putting it on our receptacle area, our trash was collected, and the lock was opened, trash removed, lock replaced, but left unlocked with the code numbers left visible for anyone to open and remove. When I called yesterday, I was told, I sit behind a desk all day, I don't know what our drivers do or what time their routes are. When I called today, I was told, I'll leave a message for your route driver for their next pick up. That's the best they could do. That's sad.....
