This place is a joke. The guy that works at Pet Cottage discriminated against my grandmother who is in a wheelchair could not see the kittens that she was hoping to adopt. Not only did he discriminate against her but he was beyond rude. I will not be going back and do not recommend this place to anyone

Overall a great pet store. They have a huge variety of high quality food. Very friendly Staff and knowledgable. They have rescue kittens up for adoption there. The only thing is the room isn't ventilated well and it smells quite bad. I highly recommend they get an air purifier. It's hard to hang with the kittens because of the smell. Also I feel bad for the kittens because they are in that room with no ventilation. It's a great place and the small tweak to the adoption room would be a huge plus for the kittens and adopters.

Alex is an amazing young person - they helped me and my friend today with our lost pet posters and offered to help hang some up outside of work. It legitimately made my friend I tear up and cry after we left. We adored them and will definitely be coming back and trying to get everything we need from there instead of any corporate pet store (side eye at petco, they don’t let people put up lost pet flyers) It seriously made us feel like there are some good people in the world :,) thank you Alex !!!!!!!

Sandie is the best! Great selection of dog food and treats. The dogs and cats here are the cutest, too!

Amazing local pet store in Marin. They have some higher prices than larger companies stores, but it’s better to support this local business.

Save a kitty. The window is beautiful. If I didn't have 2 cats. I would get another one.

Super wonderful woman lover the owners the place and there are many many kittens to choose from which is awesome. It's very easy to adopt there compared to woodlands pets where they want you to fill out the application even to pet a cat was in trying to adopt and was frustrated and left so trust me go to pet cottage instead

Stood in the store for almost 30 minutes trying to get someone to help my family and I. Came in to discuss adopting a cat, but each time we tried to ask for help she walked by us without eye contact or even once asking if we needed help.I hope all the animals find homes for their sake, but what an insanely odd and bad experience.

These people are angels. So grateful for this place. They are compassionate, patient, generous. Thank you, Pet Cottage Family. I will carry your kindness forward. ❤️

I went in with my latino boyfriend we were going to adopt a kitten, there was an older woman working who completely ignored us, my boyfriend asked to see the kittens she wouldn't let us see them, mind you a customer just exited the room where the cats were and was filling out paperwork. We left and I was insulted because the lady was discriminating against my boyfriend. I will not be going back!

Love love this store and the staff (including the resident doggies)! I always walk out more informed than when I walk in. I recently bought CBD oil for my aging cat and Sandie was so helpful with my questions, etc. She truly loves and cares about animals - it's obvious by her knowledge and passion for their well being. This is a true gem in San Anselmo. So thankful they are close by.

So disappointed and disgusted. Walked in since I saw a "rescue kittens" sign in red and I wanted to ask about the process for adoption etc... I approached the store and walked around and found the kittens. I then hear a woman yell across the store "HEY DONT GO IN THERE ONLY LOOK." Stunned since the store was silent I turned and saw the older woman with her 3 dogs at the register giggling with another woman who was purchasing something. I was looking at the kittens from afar and I then approached the register since I saw the owner alone now and asked "hi I wanted to know the process for adoption of a cat or kitten" she responds with a rude look "well what do you want a cat or kitten?" And I said " I'm not sure I want to get a cat for my mom..." and before I could finish "well then SHE needs to come in for MY application so I can MEET HER. I made the application" with crossed arms like if she was upset or like lecturing me? She seemed pissed as soon as she saw my partner and I walk in but of course being Latinos in "HER" store might have been her problem because she seemed perfectly fine with the customer before us. Wouldn't recommend asking for help here. Taking my business elsewhere which is sad because I love san Anselmo and hate feeling discriminated.

I like this store for my picky Standard Poodle. It's one of 2 places in Marin that Carrie's Shinto's food. People are pleasant too which is nice.

Excellent store, everyone working there was kind and helpful without being overwhelming. I got good recommendations on cat treats and toys when I asked, some simple advice for finicky eaters that worked like a charm.

Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. Great products for both your dogs and cats. It always makes me smile to get a warm welcome from them and feels good to shop in a local non-chain store.
