Rico is a stand up and great mechanic. He took a look twice at my trans on my Chevy Colorado. Rather than charge me $500 for a flush and filter change he was able to find the issue with the muffler. He could’ve gone about it many ways but I would highly recommend his shop for transmission needs. He cares about the customers coming through

I purchased a vehicle with a transmission from this shop. Owner would not give me any information about the transmission just trying to see what kind and what they put in the vehicle. They told me I had to be the owner of the truck to get the information even though I am the owner of the vehicle now was very hostile, rude, and mean over the phonewould not recommend anybody purchased or go to this place

We brought in our car for a diagnostic and Peninsula Transmission determined the cause quickly and for free. They were honest about their capabilities and although they couldn't service my car, recommended a great shop to take care of the service. We'll definitely be back for a transmission tune up.

When my "check engine" light turned on, I brought it to Shiva Autobody shop- my normal place. They referred me to Peninsula Transmissions after they diagnosed that my light was on due to issues with the transmission. I had the pleasure to connect and work with Rico there. After looking at my vehicle and transmission, he gave me a thorough explanation of the issues with the transmission. Then, he gave me different options to weigh in how to move forward. I appreciated the way he conducting himself during our interactions; he's professional, respectful and trustworthy. If you're ever having transmission issues, bring your car here!

These guys are amazing — super knowledgeable, very good at explaining technical problems in terms I could understand, and very honest. With a problem they could not fix, they refused to charge me anything even after they spent hours of their time and paid for a part to attempt a repair. Highly recommend!Service: Transmission repair

Can't say enough good things about this shop. Highly knowledgeable, very honest, great communicators. They worked hard to repair my car, explained everything clearly, and when ultimately some of the work could not be completed because of a very backordered part (not at all their fault), they refused to charge me for their time or for another part they had paid for out of their own pockets. Really impressed with them.

The problem is Peninsula Transmission has too many potential customers, so they can afford to treat people like crap. Every business needs a substantial amount of competition in order to drive down cost and improve service. This shop is way too privileged in that regard. Not much accountability at the shop in my opinion. Rude customer service. Dont expect them to cut you a deal. They will attempt to get as much money out of you as possible. They have plenty of sheep to fleece. If a person wants a good price and exceptional service just get rid of them and go to the next one. Weed out all the customers that have higher expectations. Just get the people in that will keep their mouth shut and open their wallets. This is the impression I got at the shop.

On Friday 6/3/22 I spoke to the manager about my 99 Dodge Dakota... That year and many similar Dodge Ram Trucks have a common problem of a Band Keep common loose as is the case with my vehicle. The manager stated that he had just repaired a Dodge with the same issue and gave an estimate over the phone around 850 to 1200 and to bing my truck in for a test drive on Monday. I took of work early to get my to the shop as requested when I arrived he first stated he was to busy to even do a test drive... I reminded him.of our conversation and he made the extreme effort to drive my truck around the block... Upon his return he agreed it was mostly likely the keep and asked what i would like to do... I stated a Transmission service and to replace the keep just as we spoke about on Friday the 3rd... He looked at me and stated " Oh we don't service Transmissions we only do complete rebuilding of Transmissions" I was shocked and upset we had already spoke already gave me possible price for the service... I thanked him very much for wasting my time... and will never refer a friend or family or stranger to this shop nor will i ever return!!! Communication with customers is key this fell amazingly short!!!

I understand nothing about cars so I needed someone trustworthy to inspect my vehicle, do an oil change, etc. A lot of places will overcharge or make up things that your car "needs" (but I wouldn't be able to tell whether the service is necessary). Mr. Rico is super nice, fair, polite and friendly. I knew my car was in good hands and got all the help I needed without anything extra. This is my new go to place, highly recommended!

I took my 2014 Chevy Express van to Rico a few weeks back as he seemed to be most professional in regards to my needs. My van is my only van for my service business. I called a few other reputable shops that were referred over to me and I got responses of "good luck locating a new transmission " or "we are booked out a month etc". Finding Rico on Yelp saved me!! He located my transmission at a California warehouse and I doubled and tripled checked to make sure it was correct one. He knew my van is my bread and butter and he had it ordered it on a Thursday. By Tuesday morning my van was ready and it runs stronger and shifts better than stock one. Thanks Rico for your excellent work.
