A friend recommended Catherine to me as I was looking for someone to do my hair and makeup for my wedding. She did such an excellent job that she is the only one I will ever trust to cut and style my hair. Both edgy short cuts and midlenghth professional styles Catherine has seen me through every style imaginable. She is so gifted. when it comes to hair and makeup.

Catherine is a wonderful, funny and lovely person who does a FABULOUS JOB on my curly unruly hair. I'm now a blonde, at her suggestion. Much better than dying my gray hair so often. It was a slow process to do, however people think I'm a natural blonde which is the look I wanted. She has Aveda products so you know they're good. Go! Have her do your do!

I've had falling hair for the past month. My research has shown that treatment begins with a healthy scalp by exfoliating to keep follicales clear along with scalp massage for blood circulation. My tedious search for a solution or treatment led me further to Aveda's Pramasana Scalp Treatment. The website had links to find a location near me and through this I found Total Concern 2. I immediately called the number, left a message and before the end of the day, received a call back from Catherine. I told her my situation regarding my falling hair, that I've been to several salons already where they only offered deep conditioning but these did not meet my need. I wanted to find out if she offers the Pramasana Scalp Treatment. She said other salons don't know what they are doing while she does and the product she uses (Aveda) was THE BOMB. "So can you give me a Pramasana Scalp Treatment?" She said YES and she could take me in on Saturday at 2:30pm. Great! I booked my appintment. She said I MUST NOT flake on her. She usually takes a credit card to confirm my appointment but she won't do it this time. I show up on time, exactly at 2:30pm and just like what other people said, she was running late. She said she was behind schedule and that I should sit back and relax and read her magazines. By 3pm, she was ready for me. She asked me to sit down and without looking at my scalp, she said there was nothing wrong with my scalp and all I needed was to buy "this shampoo". I said, "But I came here for a Pramasana Scalp Treatment. Are you saying you won't give me the Pramasana Scalp Treatment and instead just buy that shampoo?" Yes, she said. "I cleared my schedule so I can come here on time because you said you could do the Pramasana Scalp Treatment. You made me wait 30 minutes...and now you tell me you won't do the treatment?" Catherine, you are a horrible, horrible person. There just aren't enough words to describe how horrid you are.

I tried Total Concern 2 because I love Aveda hair color and the location is convenient. The first time I visited this salon, the owner, Catherine was running an hour and a half behind because she seemed to have triple booked herself with me and two other clients at the same time. I had an open schedule that day, so I decided to be patient and walk across the street to grab lunch while I waited. She was somewhat rude and annoyed when I returned and asked what time she might be ready to start my hair color. However, once the other clients left, she warmed up to me a bit. I found her sarcasm funny and my hair looked great after that first appointment. Catherine is talented and creative. By the end of this initial appointment, it seemed that I was accepted into her small circle of favorites. However this acceptance would be short lived. I had a total of four appointments at this salon before I decided I was sick and tired of the nonsense. Each appointment was similar to the first in that she overbooked herself and did not think twice about the inconvenience to her clients The last time I saw her, my appointment was the first she had on that particular day. She was 30 minutes late and she emailed rather than calling or texting to let me know. Naturally I was driving to the salon myself at the time, so I had no idea that she emailed me. It is close to impossible and dangerous to check email while you are driving. Doesn't everyone know this? That's why most people text upon leaving or call to let someone know they are going to be late. But she explained that she doesn't text clients. Ever. She was actually irritated with me for calling her to ask why the salon was still not open 30 minutes after our appointment time. At the time, I was standing outside her salon near the loud street cleaner that almost ran me over. She was actually annoyed with me when it was she who was late. Yes, the owner of this salon is regularly late to her appointments. So if this sort of thing bothers you, go somewhere else. The final straw for me however, was being treated like garbage throughout that last appointment. First, she refused to answer my question about what she planned to do with my hair that day. Imagine sitting in the chair, with no idea of what someone with scissors and chemicals in their hands plans to do with your hair. It's just scary. I believe that most people would want to decide how they want their hair to look after it is cut, colored and styled. She told me that "I was getting on her nerves" and continually refused to answer my simple question. I should have left then, but I did not. After making it through the appointment, my hair looked awful. She ended up double dying it because she ran out of time to properly rinse my highlights. With so many others waiting for her at that point in time she was increasingly rushed and irritable. My hair was an unflattering jet black and a tangled mess because she left the old hair extensions in. Apparently she ran out of time for that too. Extensions HAVE to be removed and reapplied every six weeks or they will rip your own hair out. She charged me full price for completing only half of the services I booked with her that day but I didn't mention it because I just wanted to get out of there. Last but not least, while I was checking out, she verbally assaulted me in front of her other clients. She apparently was upset because I refused to write my credit card information in her hard copy journal that just sits out open in the salon, all day, every day. She is often so distracted with multiple bookings that it would be incredibly easy for someone to read or steal her journal while she is busy running around. There are also delivery people in and out all day so there's a lot of distraction. As someone who used to work in IT Security, I know that no one should ever, ever write their credit card information on a piece of paper that is unsecured. There was no way I would be manipulated into this. In sum, Catherine is clea

The service is great and Catherine is the best hair stylist in the Bay Area. Call for a constellation and come in and find out how good you can look.

I love Aveda products but, before today had never been to an Aveda salon. Catherine, is a very nice lady and she gave me a whole new look. She knows what she is doing. I have never been so happy leaving a salon. The customer service is excellent and the music was great too. I have found a new salon to go to.
