The female staff member at the passport office was consistently unhelpful and often late in starting her duties. Her lack of engagement made the process unnecessarily difficult and frustrating. Unfortunately, her tardiness can have serious consequences—if she misses your scheduled appointment, you may lose your slot for the day entirely, wasting any time off you've taken to be there.

I had the best possible experience applying for a passport at this location, and renewing my son’s passport. I was helped by Steven who was very patient, diligent, professional and friendly to me and my son. Thank you Steven and USPS San Carlos!

Having been to many post offices in my life, this one consistently ranks in the top 20th percentile across all dimensions. They have some challenging customers here as many post-offices do, and I see the staff here consistently treat those folks with respect and the expediency to keep the place moving, which is a delicate balance. Performance is all relative when it comes to post-offices, but I feel like in this post office it's objectively good, too. Most other complaints I see here are frivolous (e.g. want the stamps placed carefully on your holiday card? Buy the sheet from them and do it yourself there on the counter for a few minutes. This isn't a $400 shutterfly order...)

Our holiday postcards sent from this location were all ruined because a sticker was placed over the front. However, postcards from two other different locations arrived without any issues. We won’t be returning here again.

Worst experience for passport renewal. Cannot understand staffing here. 1 person dedicated to the busiest passport stuff while 3 people just sitting, staring and waiting for general customers to show up! You will also find the slowest folks working here, they just cant get their act together let alone worry about customer service. Spent 2 hours here on a school and work day with my kid. They just dont care is whats really bothering me. Bureaucracy government nonsense at its best.

I just spoke to the nicest guy named Darryl ..I wanted to make sure that after being in the hospital my mailbox still had my mail it because I knew it had gotten pretty full..He went out of his way to contact the carrier and everything is going to be OK ..I'm not gonna lose my government check which is so detrimental!! they have been wonderful to me every time I've called the post office in San Carlos they have gone above and beyond for me!! Highly recommend!!
