First off, this is no longer an Albertsons and is now an upscale Pavilions (same company owns both). I have never in my life until this day paid this much for groceries. Of course all stores prices have gone up, but this store has taken it to new heights. They offer little to no "store brand" or "value" products with little to no choices for most items, just one brand or size. Your options are limited to "organic", "premium" or a size so large you buy more than you need. The produce selection was pathetic, unless you want to pay more for organic. They literally did not have regular parsley, cilantro or green onions. If you want those items you need to go to the "organic" section and pay 50% to 100% more than stores less than 2 miles away. And now the layout. Why ate chocolate products divided up into 4 different aisles and so many other products? They are no longer grouped together for convenience but rather divided up to make you go up and down every aisle so the store maximizes sales. This is an old tactic but this store has taken it to new places. lastly, they still require you to give up your phone number and personal contact information in order to get a fair price. That is so wrong and as a younger generation person, I don't shop at stores that require me to sell my identity for a fair price. It's obvious this store is tailored to a much older and richer clientele. As a regular guy making regular money, I simply cannot afford to shop here. This store made me feel poor and unwelcome in my hometown. It has nothing to do with the employees. I talked and interacted with a few of them. The staff was nice and helpful, it's not their fault their company went this direction.

Not accommodating management at all, rude and presumptions san clemente folks, it's disappointing that people don't go out of there way, level of power tripping in so many staff nowadays

Please note store is now Pavilions. It is currently under remodel and should be "stellar" when finished. Don't worry Pavilions, Vons, and Albertsons are under same great ownership!

It's kind of the only store around, so not much in the way of options. Look for the deals, stick to your list and you'll make it out okay. Organic foods are available but expensive, so plan a run to Costco or Trader Joe's for those items. Staff is somewhat friendly, but you can often tell it's a union job, so the customer isn't the most important person there. The store is clean and well stocked, so you'll usually find whatever you're looking for.

this is one of my favorite grocery stores in my home town of San Clemente. I ran into the most disrespectful. Cashier Lali ! 11/27/22 @ 7:15 am . after purchasing iced coffee, and some toiletries, she only raised her voice at me and stated not to place my Coinstar Receipt in a certain location while NOT saying good morning or thank you at all ! I even tried to make her smile & she continued talking to another employee while I was still in the middle of my payment . I will continue coming to this location since I love it so much I hope Lali improves her demeanor, and not to take her personal life to work with her .

Today we witnessed something very sad. An Elderly female cashier ( I won't name any names, let's just call her Karen.) Was unable to Scan the digital coupon QR code on my phone, she became frustrated with everyone in line & Had a full on mental breakdown. She claimed she was unfamiliar was the Albertsons digital coupon app, doesn't know how it works, and would not accept a phone number either. "No discounts here! " she screamed. A very frustrating experience, because the store is actually very nice & has a great meat department, with amazing deals. The elderly employees, give this store a real black eye. I will never return to this particular Albertsons, for this exact reason. I will happily support the other Albertsons at 804 Ave Pico, as all the employees there are friendly & happy to help. Point is, a handful of rude employees at this location, are sour, love to argue, and refuse to accept any kind of digital coupons, discounts, rewards, or a Phone number. So my family & I will not support this store. I hope you will do the same!

YUCK!!! I was at the bank inside of Albertsons and was short on time so ran over and grabbed a whole Rosemary and Garlic roasted chicken. Chicken is over cooked to the point it is almost burnt. Dry and absolutely no flavor of any kind much less rosemary and garlic. Over 8 dollars wasted, starving, and no time for another option. I HATE YOU ALBERTSONS!!!

So I've sat on this for several months, but I have to tell you about SCOTT. SCOTT thinks he knows how to do his job. SCOTT thinks he can treat people with complete disrespect. If it wasn't for union protection, Scott would be shopping for a sugar daddy.I went to my neighborhood Albertsons to load my Chime Card. This is usually a painless process, but on occassion, an employee does not know how to do this. That is fine. It's not my first rodeo. A very nice lady tried to help me (Emily, I believe), but was unfamiliar with the process, so she called for a "manager" to assist. Lucky me, SCOTT answered the call. As SCOTT pranced our way, he said angrily, that because Chime was a subsubsidiary of Green Dot, I had to purchase a Green Dot recharge card. I informed him he was wrong, as I had done this many times, and that was not how this particular product worked, that I had done this MANY times, at this exact location. Scott fiddled at the register for a few seconds and then told me that he had no idea what I was talking about. I again told him that I had done this exact transaction at this location, and at the Albertsons 2 miles down the road. His response was to gesture towards the register and ask me if I would like to show him how to do it.I'm not going to lie, I was completely blown away by this punks attitude. I'm telling him this is a service they perform, and have performed for me many times in the past, and he's treating me like some nut. I repeat that not only has this location performed this SIMPLE transaction for me many times, but their sister store, right down the street has done it many times as well. SCOTT's response was a bitchy "Well you should go there".At this point I figured we needed to take this silliness beyond SCOTT, the arrogant buffoon, so I asked him "Are you THE MANAGER?". His response was yes. I knew he was lying, so I asked again. His response this time was "I'm the best your going to get." At this point I told SCOTT that he was a d*ck. He should thank me for being so kind in my description of him.Fot the record SCOTT, I have returned to your store several times and reloaded my card, even a bagger figured it out for me, but I was not worth the effort for you to LEARN YOUR JOB. "Manager", lol. You are a small, small person, enjoy your weekend frozen food manager position, it's the best you will ever do in life, you rude ahole. SCOTT sucks. He's a bad guy

They could really use a remodel here. The store was clean and well-maintained, though about them. Service is fine and the shelves are well-stocked. I do feel they are pricey, be sure to look for sales and shop seasonally.
