I've been banking with CB&T for probably 15 years now, Even though there's the normal turnover, as with any bank, the tellers quickly learn my name and make me feel welcome. They will always go the extra mile to look into anything I need or research any questions about my account that come up.

I walked into California Bank & Trust expecting to get treated like a human being. Instead, I left feeling like yesterday's trash. I am a massage therapist and a caregiver. I had just received my caregiver's check from my patient here in San Clemente. His health has declined so badly within the last few weeks, that he could barely hold a pen. He is 88 and has rheumatoid arthritis. His signature was off center and was very poorly written. But California Bank and Trust was his bank, so I thought I could TRUST them. Immediately, the obnoxious banker started questioning his signature and how different it is with the one on file. I explained that my patient is very ill and very aged. He has vision problems and has difficulty grasping objects with his hands, let alone sign his own name anymore. The banker had my driver's license and my patient's check with all his current info on it. He asked if he could call him. I kindly obliged. I thought,'He's hard of hearing. This could get interesting.' Well, he called my patient's home number, which my patient doesn't even use. That's the only one they have on file. So I called his (my patient's) cell and got him on the line immediately and I had to raise my voice for him to hear me. My voice was echoing through the lobby and my banker gave me the look of severe embarrassment. Then I handed him the phone. He verified my patient's information and hung up. He then told me that my phone number and their phone number didn't match up and the signatures were just too far apart. They would not and could not cash the check. I asked why they couldn't understand my predicament. They had mo resolution, nor an ounce of compassion. I was extremely upset when I was walking out, but restrained myself and only called the teller a "****** What ticked me off most was the manager didn't even bother trying to help ME, he just backed up his teller--a middle aged guy who needed new hair plugs. Really? REALLY? Is that how you treat new people coming into your branch? Wow. If I wanted that kind of treatment, I would hang out with my ex. These people treated me like I was a criminal. Like somehow, I had this fraudulent check. Like I was trash. Shame on them! I'm a working class woman and it wasn't fair of them to, I believe, judge the both of us. Ridiculousness. Ps, this really doesn't even get One Star!!!
