Best service I’ve ever had also the cars are always clean Sam and Bill are always on it, . But All I can say is will be back to rent another car soon. Hopefully a Tesla road trip with my gf next year. Thank you guys

Worst Customer Experience of My LifeI will NEVER AGAIN reserve a car from this location. Last week I was moving my son into University of Utah from San Clemente and reserved a Tahoe sized vehicle for $800+ from this Hertz location (1 month early). My reservation carried a significant cost premium for the extra large vehicle, but due to the amount and size of what I needed to transport, this sized vehicle was required.My pick-up time was at 5:00. At 3:00 I called to confirm they were all set with my rental. When I called they informed me that the only vehicle they had for me was a mid-sized SUV, which wasn't going to meet my needs (plus I'd be paying twice the cost of that size vehicle). The only remedy they gave me was to call the Hertz 800 number and try to find a different vehicle (the size of what I reserved).After 1 hour and 55 minutes of unsuccessfully working to resolve this on the phone with Hertz, we realized we had 5 minutes to show up for our 5:00 pick-up time to pick up the only car we could find. My wife called to give them a heads up that we would be there right at 5:00 or 1-2 minutes late and not to leave. They informed us that they were already closing and that they wouldn't be open at 5:00. When I challenge them leaving and asked to talk with a manager, they put me on hold without saying a word. While we waited on hold we drove 5 minutes to their office and arrived at 5:02. WE WERE STILL ON HOLD AND THEY ALL LEFT FOR THE DAY.Hours later, Enterprise car rental was able to find a car for us. If it wasn't for them coming through for us, I would completely stuck. This was supposed to be an amazing day in my sons college journey and thanks to Hertz, it became a frustrating disaster and their lack of service made it infinitely worse.One week later, I called back to this Hertz location to talk to the owner and tell him about my horrible experience. About 2 minutes into my story with the owner, I was disconnected. I called back and surprisingly asked "Did you just hang up me?", thinking that he probably accidentally disconnected us. He confirmed that he did hang up intentionally and expressed that he didn't have time to listen to my complaints. I am absolutely flabbergasted.NEVER AGAIN!!!!

Absolutely the worst service I have experienced I was referred by state farm insurance after we had a bad accident.I would expect above average service being they contract from State Farm insurance.I was hung up on twice mid sentence told conflicting information in general was a very terrible experience on top of having been in a bad car accident .I called State Farm right away and was referred to enterprise on El Camino real and received excellent service and care from end to end .Terrible experience at Hertz in Pico plaza San Clemente

Obviously sometimes you Hve to try for yourself even if they don't have the best ratings. I'm a hertz member and always try and go with them first. Well this place didn't disappoint! Super friendly and fast service! Give this place a chance and pick up a convertible!

I was a little bit concerned because of the low ratings... But my experience was excellent here. People make assumptions and I feel like that then they complain that they can't get what they wanted. But if you call, if you communicate, well, then you get exactly what you want.the prices are pretty excellent here as well. And the customer service is great. Don't listen to the bad reviews, just be a good customer and you'll get great service. :) thanks ya'll,-Skyler

The customer service is terrible!! I have been trying to confirm a reservation of over 90 min and have called 9 or 10 times. I got 1 guy on the phone and his reply was " I don't know what to tell you". The automated system can not find my reservation number and just passes me from one dead end to another. I am behond frustrated and will never be back!!!!!

March 1, 2023 -- This Hertz location far exceeded our expectations! The staff was friendly, efficient, and helped us in every way possible for our road trip to Arizona! Mr. Bill was our agent, and he made sure we had everything covered -- gas, coverage, safety. 10/10! Will always be coming to this location for making us feel so welcomed and appreciated customers

I reserved a cargo van almost a week ago. Hertz literally called me @ 4:59, 1 minute before the closed to let me know the cargo van I reserved would not be available tomorrow for pick up. That's terrible customer service.

I had a rental for a month and anytime I rent longer then a week I always wash the inside and outside of car-it’s the right thing to do. Upon checking my bank statement I noticed an extra fee charge. I called to notify the manager, he then proceeded to lie and say that I was late returning my rental and that I extended my rental contract and that they already did me a courtesy of waiving those fees, but what’s odd is I dropped my rental off at 3:25pm for a 4pm return( corporate confirmed this) and I never amended my contract once, so Bill aka Jake was straight bold face lying and he’s the manager/owner. When I asked the man on the phone for his name and info to follow up with the manager, he told me he was the manager and his name was Bill. The problem with that is he lied again cause his real name is Jake Herr. I would never rent here again not just because of Jake’s lack of professionalism, customer service and tact but also cause they’ll charge you fees for something you didn’t do and then block your number and lie so they don’t have to deal with it. His last words before he hung up and blocked my number were,” call the 1800 number and have them deal with it.” This is like a scene from High school, don’t know how this thing can run a business like this. Do yourself a favor and stay clear of this location. Any successful business Owner doesn’t behave this way. I honestly think he’s a sociopath, the whole experience was just ridiculous. I never even write reviews, but people need to know. Good luck Jake, oh I mean Bill.
