San Onofre State Beach is a favorite place for surfing, walking, and hanging out. It offers a nice beach and a very broad trail with a beautiful view from the top, where dolphins can sometimes be seen. The hike down is easy, though walking back involves hills. The beach features tide pools with creatures when the tide is low. For camping, the spots are roomy with lots of shade, reasonable rates, and well-maintained restrooms and showers. The staff is friendly and helpful. Parking is limited, requiring patience. There is a $15 day use fee. The beach is dog-friendly and has toilets and a picnic area, but no playground. The walk to the beach from the campground is hilly and best done by car or bike.
Amazing spot to catch waves, sunsets and wind down. Dog friendly, great waves

Hidden gem 💎. Surfers paradise. Parking lot is small so you may have to wait as others exit to park because the capacity is small. Otherwise really pretty. Only 4 stars because of parking wait, but really is a nice beach 5 stars

Off the beaten path on a very well beaten path. Beautiful peaceful stretch of beach.
