Responded to an email invitation to meet the mgr Marco last Friday. Waited outside the locked doors with a delivery driver until a member let us in. Was told they were off for the holiday but would "still" honor the $1 down deal which I knew nothing about. Replied a free week (the original offer) might be more proper & was told perhaps I should just sign up online & that, " Life can be busy sometimes." Good thing my life isn't too busy to keep me from my business appts? Just call me Karen or go to Chuze, they seem to value new customers, thier satisfaction & thier TIME...

Trash almost full, trash on the floor, water everywhere, shelves and hooks have been torn out and not replaced, sink dirty and rusted underneath, rubber mats probably have their own lifeforms. No other gym I have visited has been in this condition.

This is for the Point Loma location. I wanted to like this place. I'm not really a gym person but my friend signed us up because of the price and location. I did want to have place to go to get some cardio and weights in too. I used it once or twice then one day I went and the key fob they give you( the only way to get in) wouldn't unlock the door. I almost left, but against the rules, another member let me in. There is no one on site to help with matters like this. The help door bell is broken. I was told by my friend, yeah the door sticks a bit. So I went back this morning ready for a good workout and once again the door would not open. I tried a few different things and still it did not open. Luckily I live close but it's simple things like this that are frustrating. I wish I didn't have to sign a contract with this place, because something as simple as getting in shouldn't be an issue.

Anytime fitness has proven time and time again that you guys suck. I call over and over and never answer. You guys have a dirty gym. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER service. Down hill the last 2 years. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS GYM.

As noted by others the cancellation policy is absurd. they make it as hard to cancel as possible so that they can continue to take your money. there are rarely any employees at the gym so I could not quit in person. no one answers the phone for that same reason. turns out to cancel I now need to sent certified mail. I have never had to send certified mail to cancel something in my life. I have been a member of probably 20+ gyms and fitness studios. This policy is ridiculous. I don't even write reviews but I am LIVID. the gym itself is nice and the "anytime" aspect is of course convenient. but I recommend choosing literally any other gym so that you don't deal with this nonsense. I have also reported this gym to the BBB. Get it together, Anytime Fitness.

This review is for the Point Loma (San Diego) location. The rating is low because of what I was told and the application process/results. Here you go...Membership: you get what you pay for. I pay roughly double what I do for an LA Fitness lifetime membership (that price locked in about ten years ago). One-year contract, paid on a monthly basis, and I will likely cancel it just before the one-year period. I picked this place because there are no lower-priced alternatives on the way/close to my employer, and I like to train before work. The person that took my application got my name and e-mail address wrong. The individual could not correct it on the spot, promised to correct it, and never did. After several phone calls (you can get ahold of someone at corporate, which is good) that was fixed. But the semi-annual fee was wrong and this will necessitate a visit to the club, for which I don't have time.Facility: They have sanitizing wipes which is great. The machines are all newer and in good shape. You park next to the club and go through a lobby. I stopped in on a Thursday mid-morning and it was pretty busy. I told the person on site I would be working out between 5:30 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. Just like I was told at the downtown San Diego location his response was "you're going to be one of only two here". This statement was flat-out wrong. This appears to be a standard answer you get. The place has a minimum of ten people every morning which is bearable. They have two restrooms that are also individual restrooms/showers. Sinks have sensors that go on and off which are annoying, and there are no paper towels. Showers sometimes have hair in the drain. Most of the time you can get a shower, but you can't store a larger gym bag because they have "cubbies" with no locks and they are small. This means you have to go back to your car to get your stuff, come back in, and hope that one of the restrooms are not occupied either by someone taking their shower or getting stunk up by someone doing their business. Similar to the downtown San Diego location, I've been burnt several times like this and had to shower at work. Give yourself time for this. Members: people keep to themselves. Nearly all are cool. Only one or two body-builder type that grunt loudly and drops/slams weights.Overall: again, you get what you pay for. I'll be cancelling after a year.

The bathrooms have mold and every shower room has an inch of water throughout the room. The bathrooms and showers all have a stench that makes me worried to even touch the sink handle.

The water filter has not been replaced in over 1 month. This should have been fixed right away. It's now at filter status red. Anytime Fitness members should have clean water available at all times.

It's been over a month since they replaced the water filter. Please fix it. Not sure why they haven't fixed it

I used to love this gym. Canceled and sent me to collections. They are a nightmare. Canceling this gym is harder than getting out of a time share. Screw you Marco.

I liked this gym until they renewed my contract one month before it expired (after i told the representative that i did not want the auto-renew option). ABC financing is a nightmare of a service and although i like this gym and planned to stay with them through my employer, i will be looking at different options. I don't appreciate the scams.

After canceling my membership with previous management, Marco had informed me that I had an outstanding balance. They refused to cancel over the phone and I even had a 3 way call with ABC fitness who does the accounting and Marco. ABC fitness said they could waive the fees without an authorized managers consent. ABC said they would send a formal to anytime fitness to get the fees waived and get my membership canceled. I told them to keep me posted and if they need to call me I'll be available. Instead Marco thought it was best to just send it to collections. A really nice facility but greedy and dirty business. Marco, you are a horrible

Very unethical company, refusing to cancel my membership despite me following the contract.I tried to cancel 2 years ago. They told me I had to come into the location during business hours. I did so several times, however nobody was even working there.Eventually I was told it was resolved over the phone. Now their new ownership is sending me to collections and claiming it was not properly canceled. They are trying to charge me for 2 years of payments and refuse to cancel me out unless I pay. I am also being sent to a collections group called ABC financial who is constantly calling me demanding money or threatening to rip my credit.Marco the manager claims a lot of other people are experiencing the same issue yet there is nothing they can do... Allegedly the old owner may have committed fraud and the new head of the location just quit. They are claiming there is nothing they can do to cancel out the account unless I pay them for 2 years of a "cancelled membership".The location is owned by a private group out in Texas who he claims they have no communication with.Be very careful with signing anything with this company. The location is a revolving door of management and franchise ownership groups.

This gym is absolutely disgusting.Ive been going to this gym for about 9 months now and each week this gym just seems to get worse and worse. It is extremely cramped inside and so hot that I doubt there is an AC inside. The bathrooms have no paper towels, rarely have soap in the dispensers, and don’t have working locks on the bathroom door which is just straight up evil of the owners to think they can get away with that. Not to mention I have seen human feces on the floor of the bathrooms multiple times. There are rarely any staff on site and when they are they barely do they job, not letting customers in, and leaving for a “break” for hours at a time. do NOT get a membership at this sad excuse for a gym, there are plenty of better options within the area.

Great place to zone in on your workout. Nothing extremely fancy but has all the machines and free weights one will need. Big plusses for me are the monthly price and the key fob to go anytime I want. All members are pretty chill and seem to be there only to get their workout in, like me.
