Very friendly staff, eager to help. Great collection of skin care and hair care products. Limited make up options but those that they do have are of very high quality. They also have a great selection of perfumes and candles which are hard to find at other locations.

Loved working with the lady who helped me buy/send some Trish McElroy home so it’s there when I am home between trips. She was so helpful and sent a few small items out the door with me as I head to the airport. I’ll be back next year!!

Laura and her coworker did an amazing job helping me choose a concealer today! I was on my way to my mother’s birthday and forgot my concealer. Not only did Laura pick the perfect color for my skin, she applied it with precision!

Great experience! I initially went into Blue Mercury in La Jolla to find the right shade Ogee foundation. Tracie helped me and was terrific throughout my experience :) She helped me find the right Ogee shade but I ended up not liking the consistency. She recommended a Lune + Aster CC cream instead and gave me a sample of it to try at home. I went back to purchase it but since it's a very popular shade, it's sold out online and almost everywhere. Tracie called multiple stores and was finally able to secure one for me. Amid my two visits, she also addressed multiple customers without making me feeling like I was forgotten about. Compared to some recent visits at other stores, I was pleasantly surprised to have a good customer service experience with someone who wanted to help, was knowledgeable, and wasn't sales-y or pushy at all. I'm also excited about the product! I definitely recommend this shop!

Lovely upscale location in La Jolla. They carry my favorite Trish mascara. If you haven't tried tubing mascara yet, I learned of it at the Blue Mercury in Clarendon, Va, it's great.

I have never left a review on Yelp or any website before. However, my experience with Bluemercury was so bad that I feel compelled to leave a review. My friend had recommended them so I called them and left a message that I'd like to come in for a consult. I did not receive a return phone call so I actually called several times and left messages and they never returned my call. I decided to drive to the LaJolla store, which was a 20 to 30 minute drive, to speak to a sales person and hopefully either get assistance or make an appointment for assistance. The sales person said that she could not assist me, but she would set up an appointment for me and so I agreed to come back on another day. I came back at my scheduled time only to be informed that even though my appointment was in their system, they did not have anybody there to assist me. I spoke to the manager, and she was extremely rude to me, and quite frankly simply ignored me. I asked if she could arrange for anybody to give me some assistance. Eventually, another person came up, who was very helpful and apologized for my situation then asked if I wanted to schedule a time to meet with someone. I politely thanked her for the offer and said I do not know my schedule, you don't answer or return phone calls and I can't be sure that if I made another appointment, you would in fact have someone to help me. So I gave her my telephone number and asked her to speak to ask someone who could help me and have them to reach out to me to schedule a time. I never heard from anyone. I want to emphasize that I was extremely courteous and respectful through out the entire process, so their behavior is even more disconcerting.

Great selection of items but I went in with my sister today and it was her birthday and we were looking for new foundation for her and some help and assistance but it was almost like we were invisible. Completely ignored by all staff even upon me asking about carrying a product line there. Must've not been dressed to the La Jolla standard. Super uncomfortable and horrible experience, we left and felt pretty unseen, definitely won't be back and it was a special occasion to take my sister out.

I accompany my elderly mom on shopping trips to Bluemercury in La Jolla quite often. I actually live closer to another store but we prefer the LaJolla location because of Morgan. She is so patient, knowledgeable and helpful. Even if Bluemercury doesn't stock something she will research and order it for my mom and even send it to her when my mom is in her other home in Idaho. Mortgage stylus and customer service skills are top-notch and I'm very grateful she is earned a loyal customer for sure.

I wish I had the chance to give zero stars. Have been there at 18:47 today and the cashier said sorry we‘re closed. The closing time on the website said 19:00. He was rude and told me: but today I’m closing now …
