We recently stopped into Bootlegger for a bite and a beverage. Shasta waited on us and was an excellent server. We decided to split a build a burger and ordered a beer each. The burger was enormous and delicious - Thursdays they are on special and you can get as many toppings as you like with no up charges. It’s a good deal. The fries were a bit disappointing because they weren’t crispy enough and kind of soft/limp. It wasn’t super busy the day we went but I imagine during baseball season or weekends it gets pretty crowded there. Bootlegger has a large selection of brews on top. We will definitely be back again.

The atmosphere is good the waitress is okay but PLEASE BE AWARE . Make sure you keep you recipe. The waitress overcharged my card ! I got a drink and two shot (it got charge $60 on my card) but when I signed my recipe it was a different price because I tipped in cash ! They do not have my business anymore .

First time at Bootlegger and we had a party of 11 and the food and service was fast and amazing. RAND our server was very attentive and friendly..Everything was on point..We will be back..

Food was whatever. I guess what you would expect for a bar. Drinks were okay, decent variety of beers and mixed drinks. For a holiday weekend was pretty slow for a Saturday night also.Went to use the women's restroom and it was absolutely horrendous. Idk who does restroom checks, but most stalls out of toilet paper or just badly placed quarter rolls on the back of toilets and wet paper towel rolls left on the counter with no dispensers. Also looks dusty AF and grimy. Appears they never clean their stall doors or vents. For a place with only about 4 females present at 10pm, looks like they may only cater to the male staff? So sad

Mostly rated it high bc it's a Niner bar, and food is good. Service sucks like most bars in DTSD... Oh well.

(Last visited 5/15/2023.) Hanging out in San Diego with my boys for the weekend and it's the last full day before we have to head back home. Well, it's Sunday Funday so that means brunch! I found out this place offers bottomless mimosas on Saturdays and Sundays 9:30am to 1:00pm so we pulled up and got started! Here's how it went...Atmosphere/Appearance: The Bootlegger is set right downtown on the corner of Market Street and 8th Avenue. There's a big vertical sign hanging way above the door pointing down to the bar in a very 60s Las Vegas sign sort of fashion. The inside gives me not-quite rustic vibes with its leather seats, exposed brick, yet modern amenities such as huge TVs hanging over the bar. It was a good mix. This place was LIVE though! It was lively, energetic and just an overall good time.Service: I can't remember who took care of us because there was so much going on, but we sat at the bar so the mimosas were flowing at Mach speed. Lol. We never needed to ask for anything because we had it.Food: I went with the Steak & Eggs, which is seared skirt steak, two eggs any way, tomatoes, peppers and a potato hash. It was cool. I'm here for the drinks and I just need food to soak up the alcohol. Lol. I would certainly lean a different direction, maybe toward the chicken & waffles with mac & cheese or something like that.Value: Pretty great if you ask me. Bottomless mimosas are $25.00 and you get to drink for 3.5 hours if you get here at 9:30am. Lol. That's pretty good value. My steak & eggs were only $15.00 so that's why they were pretty mid. Lol.If you're coming for brunch you're going to love this place! I know I did and I look forward to returning next year!

Vast selection of beers and drinks. Bartenders know how to make drinks and food is great. Definitely a place to go to watch football or wind down after long days.

Great selection of beers here and great service. The menu is pretty long, and on top of that the build your own burger and nacho options make anything possible!

Came in for a late brunch and ordered the chicken and waffles with the Mac and cheese. Mac and cheese was tasty. The chicken seasoning kinda had a sweet taste but not overpowering(was a fan of chicken)

Bar staff is awesome, food is great, atmosphere is perfect, highly recommend, will be back consistently, every bartender every night is different but yet awesome, each one whether it's, Rachel Natalie Maddie Vinny Nick any of them, every night they remember you,they are amazingThe bar manager Dave is attentive in a positive way and i appreciate it , he isn't in the back just hanging out he remembers those who frequent the bar, he just gives bootleggers a homey feel.This is the east village cheers, this is where the locals goIf you want to learn what San Diego has to offer come here, we will show youCory. ...
