This place is run by crooks!!!!! DO NOT COME HERE! We returned a car on the day we embarked onto our cruise at this location. We first got there when it’s supposed to open at 10am but a note was placed on the door saying they were out getting a car and to call a number. So, called the number and no answer and a voicemail was left. Then we waited for about half an hour and finally someone called back and a staff came out to meet us at the car. He then told us he will take care of it from there and then we proceeded to the cruise terminal.My husband noticed Budget did not charge his credit card for a long time until he received a billing statement like two weeks later. We only rented the car for 2.5 days and the bill came to over USD$1,100!!!! We were just beside ourselves cuz the statement shows that the car was dropped off all the way in Van Nuys like 5 days later! That means we were charged for those extra days for no reason! We were on a cruise ship out in the middle of the ocean!Anyway, my husband was able to contact Budget customer service and resolved the issue. Now, we are just waiting for our credit card to be adjusted accordingly. But again, this location is shady as hell! Do NOT go there!!!

The customer service here is the worst in San Diego they walk out for breaks and completely lazy. They told me one price and as we left changed it and upped it because he had a tantrum about driving the car up. The cars are alright but definitely need better customer service employees if you want people to ever come here the current ones aren’t up to standard.

Avoid this rental car office at any rate. I was billed for a full tank even though the clerk told me it is ok to return car with same amount of fuel as on pickup. The car was almost empty. Beware.

We had dreams of cruising the California coastline in a convertible. With a silky scarf in the wife’s hand and a drivers cap in mine we entered Budget Rental, excited to see where the day would take us. When my wife went up to the counter to grab our “stang” the gentleman told her, “We only have a hemi Durango.”…….A DURANGO…We reminded him that we had reserved this specific car, far in advance.We were essentially told that we were out of luck and our California dreaming was up in flames.

Made a reservation 3 months ago. Called us the day before pickup to say the we had to call them to arrange a different pickup location…turns out there are no cars in our entire county for us. Tried to call a supervisor, but they just kept redirecting my call. HORRIBLE customer service!!!!

Beware of up charges. When I was checking out, the rental agent I talked to lied to me to get me to sign up for the Fuel Purchase Option. When I saw the total was more than the $119 I was expecting, I mentioned it, and he told me that the charge would be taken off and go back to $119 if I return the car with gas in it, which is what I did. This is apparently not how the Fuel Purchase Option works. I was told that the charge gets removed EXPLICITLY by an agent, so I must conclude he was either ignorant or lying to me to get a bigger commission. Both of those options are a huge problem.

They know how to *take* the reservation, they just don't know how to *hold* the reservation. And that's really the most important part of the reservation: the holding. Anybody can just take them.
