We wholeheartedly recommend Coastal Christian Academy to any family looking for a supportive, faith-based school with an exceptional education in San Diego. The academic experience here is outstanding, and we’ve been so impressed by the entire community. As a military family, relocating and adjusting to a new school every few years can be daunting, but joining CCA has truly been a blessing! From day one, our son and family felt welcomed. Mrs. Jacobs, the CCA staff, teachers, and families welcomed us with open arms, and we immediately felt God’s love pouring out through everyone. CCA beautifully combines faith, high-quality education, care and a strong sense of community to create an incredible environment for kids and families.
The personalized care and attention students receive is incredible and an answered prayer. A huge shout-out to Mrs. LaRosa and Mrs. Jennifer for their support! The small class sizes and individualized teaching are a big reason we continue to stay here. The teachers genuinely care about each student’s academic progress and understand the unique needs of every child. Whether a student needs extra support or a greater challenge, the teachers work tirelessly to ensure their success. In addition to nurturing academic growth, they pray for and with the children, instilling God’s love and guidance in everything they do. They also maintain regular communication with parents to ensure we are always aware of how our children are progressing.
Aside from academics and individualized learning, the love and support from everyone at CCA has been another reason why we love it here. Drop-off and pick-up feel like family gatherings - something those far from family can appreciate as we rebuild our little villages every time we move. The staff and teachers know each child by name, not just their own class, and welcome the kids each morning with a smile. I especially love watching my son and the school come together every morning by the flagpole to recite their pledges and pray for the day ahead.
My son also loves Chapel time where students across all grades get to connect and worship together. The values taught by teachers, chapel time and activities across the school like POD teams, have been amazing. It is encouraging to see the older students (middle school and high-school) serving as role models for younger ones, teaching good morals and leadership skills through POD activities.
The strong sense of community, faith-filled environment, and commitment to both academic and spiritual growth make this school a truly special place. Highly, highly recommend it to any family seeking a supportive, Christ-centered education for their child!

This school has been SUCH a blessing to our family. The staff is well experienced in education and VERY organized and experienced at running a school & the most important part for me is it really feels like a family. Everyone cares. The other parents, the teachers, the staff. My son has thrived in his class. If you are looking for a Christian Education like non other, in San Diego, it's worth coming to visit to see for yourself.

This school has been amazing for our two kids who have been here since pre-school / 2nd grade. The teachers and staff are all comitted to developing our children both academically and spiritually. The size of the school allows for a great teaching environment. We're so thankful for this amazing school!

We are grateful for our time at CCA! Our son has a wheat allergy and they immediately accommodated us without me even asking - I was touched! My son loved Mrs. Frymire's class and often times did not want to leave for the day. I always appreciated how they kept Christian teachings within their curriculum and loved that our son would come home talking about Jesus :) We only left because we moved across the country!

My daughter started at Coastal Christian Academy about a month ago and we just love this sweet school! The teachers and staff are the kindest people. She was immediately welcomed in by the children and loves making friends. It brings me so much joy to see her work and hear about everything that she is learning. We have been immensely blessed to be a part of this school!

Had the same experience as Eval C. My child tested into the class but they said he was having issues adjusting to the classroom and told me to find an alternative school after 2 weeks. Never gave him a chance. My child was so afraid to go to school for the remainder of the time there (we had to wait until the new school processed him a week later) and for about a month into his new school. He loves his new charter school and they aren't even religious. Really wanted my son to have a Christian education but he's learning how to behave in a class and about inclusion/kindness in an outside enviornment

We have our (3) daughters enrolled at CCA. Our oldest started in 2021 in the Kindergarten class and we were so blessed by the caliber of education, instant friendships and community/parent involvement. Since then we have enrolled our two younger daughters in the preschool while our oldest continued in the elementary school. We love the small-class sizes, care, communication and individualized teaching plans. They offer three different enrollment options, full-time, hybrid and homeschool. We currently utilize the hybrid option, which allows us to homeschool 2 days a week (Mon & Fri) and let them attend school with their classmates 3 days a week (Tues - Thurs). The teachers handle all the "hard stuff" and let us as parents take the reins twice a week to reinforce principles. I love that flexibility and it makes homeschooling a breeze for me. We use those two homeschool days to do gymnastics, art classes, music, play-dates, etc. So it gives the girls SO many options. We love the community chapel times, and the values and morals taught and modeled on campus. We love the "one drop off" and the collaboration that allows our daughters to see each other throughout the day and be a part of each others milestones (graduation, extracurricular classes, running club, etc.). We love the smiles and greetings by staff/teachers each morning. Each child is seen & known by name. They offer after-school care (YES!), running club, gardening opportunities, preschool enrichment activities (dance & frisbee), school events (jog-a-thon, trike-a-thon, etc.), school spirit days, fun themed school days (star wars day, etc.), and much more. The school is 7 years into its conception, but has grown by leaps and bounds over these last few years. Adding a 7th & 8th grade class, more teachers and classrooms. The cost for this quality Christian education is affordable and they offer a 10% discount for military families/first responders & sibling enrollment. This is a great option for families looking for a safe, inclusive, affordable, faith-based community for their children's preschool - 8th grade education.

Our 3 daughters currently attend CCA and we have enjoyed our time there. We started attending in Fall 2021 when our oldest daughter started kindergarten. At the time we were looking for a homeschool hybrid option that was close to where we live. What we got was a whole lot more! Small class sizes, diverse student body, welcoming community of parents/staff, hybrid/homeschool/& full time options, AFTERSCHOOL CARE!, summer camps, running club, gardening time, etc. It's a smaller school with lots of opportunity for parent involvement and input. My kids are known, cared for and challenged. During our oldest child's kindergarten year, the small class sizes gave her many one on one teaching moments, her curriculum was tailored to her needs and the teacher even gave her more advanced work to keep her engaged and challenged. Our daughter blossomed and stepped out of her shell, she would give class presentations throughout the year for her classmates, was the "class ambassador", and got to do many fun projects. To see her loving to learn, feeling safe at school, making friends (with all ages!), and taught from a biblical perspective....was worth every penny, and given the affordable tuition and sibling/military discount...it wasn't as many pennies as we thought to give our kids this gift. The campus may be on the older side of ancient (renovation is coming soon though!), the student body is still growing (they opened in 2017), and extracurriculars are still being organized (which means lots of opportunities for involvement!)...yet the families, students, staff and teachers are truly amazing. Come check it out!

1.5 just for being friendly. While they are friendly enough, they exclude an entire genre of children and are too lazy to acquire the necessary skills to teach kids with special needs. I found this out after wasting a lot of money and time at their school. They should be held to the same anti-discrimination laws as any public school. They even say they don't discriminate on their web site, but in all reality they do. If your child didn't go there for pre-school and have been conditioned to follow like sheep, then this school is more than likely not for you. Your child it required to follow and be able to do extremely advanced work in kindergarten. I don't really recommend this institution, it is a waste of money. Maranatha Chapel has a better private school program.

I can't say enough good things about this sweet little school! We have been at CCA for 5 years (since it opened) and absolutely love it! If you're looking for a huge school, this isn't for you. But, if you're looking for a "bubble of love" where your child will get individual attention, small classrooms, Godly discipleship, academics and surrounded by warmth, this is for you! Tuition is very reasonable compared to many of the private schools we inquired about. ...around $30/day for k-8, which is well worth the cost. Our children have really blossomed here! :-)

Great school with Christ-centered teaching and loving staff. A great value too if you’re looking to move out of public school and concerned about affordability. Highly recommend!

We have three elementary school aged kids at CCA, and it's a great environment for all of them. From our busy son to our perfectionist daughter the staff has always been great and able to work with their individual personalities and allow them to be themselves while also teaching them to function in a class environment with others who have different personalities. There is a real sense of community at the school because of its small size where families really do get to know each other and interact at social events like potlucks or service projects like campus clean-up days.

We love having our child at Coastal Christian Academy. Friendly, safe, clean learning environment. The teachers really care about the kids and it shows. They do a variety of activities to keep the kids engaged and learning, including outdoor play on their playground! We love that our child is growing in a God focused environment. Our kiddo never want to leave at the end of the day!

We’ve spent the last two years at this school which has felt like home to us. It is truly a family. The teachers and staff genuinely care about the students. We have loved the hybrid homeschool model and small class sizes. If you’re looking for a loving, Christian educational environment, this is the school!

Our kids have done great at Coastal! They started out in the Preschool and have loved growing there. The teachers and staff care about your kids and want your kids to be prepare for the grades ahead while encouraging God's love to all. It is also amazing to have a school that communications on a daily and weekly basis.
