I am shocked by the negative reviews and I question the intent of the people that wrote them. I found him to be personable and very knowledgeable. I would recommend this neurologist to my friends and family.

Dr Reidler is a very rude man and arrogant. I waited for 45 minutes past my appt time and was referred by my doctor for back and leg pain. by the time I left he told me I had carpel tunnel in my wrists and never addressed my back. I would not recommend him to a soul...save your time and patience and go see someone who is kind. If so many of us have had problems with his attitude it surely has to be him that comes across that way to so many people. So disappointed and I left with nothing accomplished or help.

Dr. Riedler is the worst doctor I have ever been to in my entire life. I would rather be in pain the rest of my life rather then go back to him. He lacks empathy, scoffs and makes faces when you answer questions and ultimately makes you feel like and idiot and doesn't believe you. I 100% agree with everyone else's reviews about him. Awful, awful, awful.

I went to Dr. Riedler a few years ago and he always talked to me like he thought I was stupid when answering his questions. He is not friendly and probably spent about 5 mins with me each time I saw him and would leave the room at the end before I had the chance to ask him questions sometimes. He didn't care at all. After reading his notes on me years later, he says multiple times that my explanations "don't make sense" and my stories are "not very convincing", yet he doesn't say that to me in person so maybe I could explain better or maybe I just forgot! He was asking me questions about things that happened well over 10 years ago, so of course I can't remember every little detail that has occurred. It's very hard to find a caring neurologist at all these days though.

A total of 12 reviews (including this one) and only two are positive about this "doctor." I think the negative reviews speak for themselves. I accompanied my daughter to an appointment with this guy and I observed his unprofessional behavior first hand. My daughter suffered a traumatic brain injury two years ago and was looking for a neurologist to take over her care. She forwarded several hundred pages of records to Sharp several weeks before her appointment and even emailed Riedler a week before so that he would know they were available. On the day of the appointment, Riedler was 30 minutes late - I suspect because he had been reading my daughter's records for the first time. It was apparent that he didn't completely read through the records because he asked a number of questions that would have been answered by reading the records. He wanted to focus only on her headaches - to the exclusion of a number of other symptoms she has to deal with on a daily basis. His recommendation for treating the headaches was to recommend medication treatment, which has already been tried and failed. He refused to consider Botox treatments, which have already been shown to work with my daughter. He never once did a physical exam, or even attempted it. He gave my daughter a list of over the counter substances to try for her headaches and we later found out that the one he pushed the most has been found in several studies to not be safe when taken for more than 12 weeks. All this while we had to hear that we were interfering with his lunch hour because he had to take a little extra time (remember, he was 30 minutes late to the appointment and came into the exam room at 12 noon.) Sharp Rees Steely needs to seriously look at replacing this "doctor." He clearly has no interest - other than handing out pills - in treating patients, particularly when it involved difficult cases. I personally wouldn't take a dog to this guy.

I cannot recommend Dr Riedler. He was cold and insensitive to me. He recommended electromayogram.. a medieval torture technique ..- a test involving putting needles in the leg to try to confirm a nerve pinch in spine. I was reeling after receiving this test and crying on the table. He walked over to his computer and proceeded to ask me questions like nothing had happened. After pushing an epidural on me . .I declined and then he says, "yeah to be honest, I don't think that would work anyway." TO BE HONEST!? I don't want to hear these words from my doctor. why the hell were you pushing this on me then?! He's terrible.

RUDE, ABRASIVE AND SHOULD NOT BE PRACTICING NEUROLOGY! This man will diagnose you , never explain anything, he will raise his voice, put you on meds and then later say you are suddenly cured! The worst bedside manor I have ever encountered!

Has poor communication skills and lacks empathy. Rude. Arrogant. Diagnosed me with Parkinson's. Did not discuss side effects of meds or correct way to take them. My daughter was with me. I never went back to him. Cannot recommend him.

I had some qualms about seeing Dr. Riedler after reading some of the reviews here. I am writing this review because I had a very positive experience with Dr Riedler and the staff at SRS in Sorrento Mesa. It is possible that someone had a bad experience but this is definitely not my case. Very short wait, efficient and pleasant nurse (Bonnie), and a Doctor that spent quite a bit of time with me, doing a thorough check, reviewed my history and patiently answered my questions. I felt very comfortable with Dr. Riedler. He impressed me as being completely on top of my condition, and even though my prognosis is not great, I know I can trust him completely. I think Dr. Riedler as a good as they can get.

I chose Dr. Riedler from the list of adult neurologists available to me because I saw that he often is voted one of San Diego's Best Doctors by other doctors - San Diego Magazine. I was very impressed with him. He put me at ease by letting me talk in my own way without interrupting a lot like some doctors do. I didn't feel rushed. He seemed very intelligent and experienced. He was knowledgeable about my condition, which isn't a very common condition. He seemed to sincerely care that I was in pain and I have seen that he is willing to do everything he can to help me, so that is reassuring. I would definitely recommend Dr. Riedler to anyone needing a neurologist.
