Food, service, and ambiance are top notch! Food: -Toasted Italian sub everything on it. It was exactly how I wanted it to taste; crunchy on the outside, warm, soft, some spice and a lot of flavor. -Pastrami with the works. So flavorful and good! Service: The kind gentleman at the counter suggested the heated Italian sub and I am so glad he did! Great suggestion ( and he was wearing cool glasses) Ambiance: Located on a corner downtown makes the window watching perfect. The walls are lined with windows, there is an adorable counter to eat at as well as a few tables. The funk music playing gave this place a cool and inviting old school vibe. 90% of the sandwich patrons were in fluorescent work vests eluding that this is the local fave amongst the real people of the city! I highly recommend coming here!

Grab & Go Subs is a hot spot in downtown San Diego off of C Street for lunch sandwiches. The weekday I went it was really busy but they have everything down to a science and provide friendly and efficient service. You order your food, pay and wait for your number to be called. I ordered a Meatball Sub on this day and, as you can see by my pic, it’s not super large in width but it is really tasty and the marinara is delicious. I only mark it down one star because I thought it was a little skimpy on the meatball size. I will try something different next time and report back. There is zero free parking in the area so walking or ride share is probably best.

Love my usual turkey avocado Swiss spinach wrap, love the pesto pasta, love the breakfast sandwich...simple basic quick & good. Right by the office, you can even call and order ahead. Staff is always nice.

Perfect sandwiches for a downtown lunch. Not downtown expensive, large, filling and always tasty. They make substitutions or additions easily. The staff is always friendly and helpful - even during the crazy lunchtime rush when there's a line out the door.

13$ for the Italian but honestly it's just a 13$ lettuce sandwich. Never again. It's bad when subway puts more meet on their sandwiches

Checked out Grab & Go Subs in downtown San Diego during a work trip. Convenience was the name of the game - it was right across the street from our hotel, so my coworkers and I figured, why not? Lunch plans, activated. Let me tell you, these sandwiches and wraps are the real deal. I went for the Vegetarian as a wrap - provolone, avocado, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pepperoncinis, oil and vinegar - and it was an absolute delight. Flavor town, right in my hands. My coworkers opted for the Turkey & Provolone sandwich, and they were equally pleased. Turkey, provolone, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pepperoncinis, oil and vinegar - the classic done right. No complaints from anyone; everything was on point. The service was fantastic, and the place itself was squeaky clean. Big shoutout to the team holding it down at Grab & Go Subs - you can tell they take pride in what they do. Oh, and it got pretty busy during lunch. I guess the secret's out, and rightfully so. If you find yourself in downtown San Diego and in need of a satisfying lunch, this is your spot. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.

$12 now for a "Grab & Go sandwich. I started buying these a few years ago for $5. They went up to $6. Then, after Covid they were about $9. Now, $12. Are you kidding me? I'm done. I've had my last one.

I was looking forward to a good sandwich from this place given the reviews and that it's not a franchise. Instead I was pretty disappointed, there's more meat in a Subway sandwich. They should rename the Italian Sandwich to the Italian Salad Sandwich.

The food quality is deficient and greasy and processed meat. I do not recommend it to anybody.
