Friendly staff and car was new, nice and clean. Car was ready to go and check I'm was without issue. Hertz is worth the extra few dollars for sure.

Great clean car but no one around at 6:00 am per the web site. when they are supposed to be open. Tried calling too. No answer. I am President Circle member too. Seems Hertz is always hard to contact.UPDATE Phone rings now at 7:05am and no one answers. No text chatting to get things resolved. No contact at all.moved to a 2 star.UPDATE: They finally called me at 7:30 as we were about to take off. Couldn’t answer.Bottom line - keys were left in drop box. They would have known that if they answered the phone at 6:00am when they are supposed to be open. More to comeUPDATE: Matt and Frank took care of me. Much better and Matt has a good sense of humor. I am non stop traveling for business and this was so far one of the worst experiences in USA. Robert was questioning the “FN” on my alabama drivers license which I figured out via Google and told him it stands for “foreign”. Never anyone asked me for this before… after clarifying that I am a foreign investor from Germany, he wanted to give me first an electric car, then wanted to charge $20 more per day to change it to a non electric one - “only available is the large SUV”. When I asked to go ahead, he moved his finger to the midsize SUV… he even told me that I didn’t see it right. I asked him to check the cameras since I was in that moment pretty sure what I saw. Then I asked to just give me my electric car and let me finally go. This time he just went back and 15 feet away said he will be back. A few minutes later a lady came to my counter and asked how she can assist me today. I said that Robert is taking care of me already. She said that he will not, since he asked her to take care of me. I asked who she is since she did not have a name tag. It was the store Manager, Amanda. I said good give me my car and let me go then. She stated that today’s manager special would be the midsize car. When I asked confused what happened with the electric car, she stated that I am wrong again…That was the moment, I said that I will record this on video to protect myself. She directly said that I need to leave Hertz if I record. I asked if their cameras are also recording audio - she declined. I asked her to give me this as a written statement. She did. She is a new Manager stating that she has more than 4 years experience and couldn’t answer me how long she is managing the store already. Unfortunately, another example of a company promoting someone since they don’t have anyone without giving them the needed skills or checking if the basic management requirements are met. I saw at SIXT, renting prior to this experience much better service which is in no way comparable to this disaster.I also paid the deposit without anyone even telling me how much they are going to charge…The only nice moment was the guy named Mustafa at the end where the exit gates are. He was calm and nice and should be welcoming customers…The pictures are showing the insurance packages and the setup which customers can expect when they pickup their cars.

the worst rental experience I have had was with Hertz in Phoenix, AZ. Until now. I was never yelled at by an agent (for asking how long I have to wait, in an empty office with zero customers, after 30 minutes.) I was never lied to 3 times in a row by an agent and the manager and humiliated for showing up at the time of my scheduled appointment and questioning why no one is assigned to me after 40 minutes. Amazing service, just amazing. Hertz never disappoint in having no standards in customer care.

Terrible! After being talked down to about where I parked the car (in the return section like I was directed to do over the phone and didn’t see anyone around) I was told I couldn’t upgrade to a bigger vehicle because of my orders and the guy was super rude the entire time. I understand the orders but I know coworkers that have exchanged their vehicles and had no issues. I traded a Versa because the engine was giving me trouble… what did they do?? Put me right back into the same make and model! After I got snippy back finally he started to be nice and said to come talk directly to him on Friday about a full size vehicle.. why not just do the nice thing in the first place? Not get mad at a customer for not knowing the behind the scenes process. Absolutely condescending and sexist. I watched the two employees be polite to 3 men before I stepped to the counter. I didn’t even realize it was because I was a female alone with car issues that I was treated like it was my fault somehow. So sick of places like this. I understand a rough day but seriously?! Enjoy the case of water I couldn’t retrieve from the trunk. Punks.DO BETTER!

The vehicle we rented was not there and they offered us a smaller one that did not fit our suitcases. The lady who served us did not want to listen to what we said. Her name is Lucille González.

Last night was unacceptable. I have never had an issue getting a car here as a Gold member, but for some reason there were no cars in the garage and I had to wait an hour for a half charged electric car that I did not want nor was suitable for my driving needs. I lost so much time and money because this car was not charged, and I did not have the range to get me to my destination.

Hertz for the win! We had a week long trip in San Diego. We rented a Hyundai Santa Fe. Everything was going well until the 2nd to last night of our trip when we were driving back from dinner 20 mins away and the check engine light came on and the car started shaking. We were praying to make it back to the condo. We did and called Hertz road side assistance. They were very helpful and set up a claim number. Since it was late they had us call back in the morning. Hertz representative called several local locations but they didn't have anything available. We did have to go back to the airport location which wasn't too far. In and out in 20 minutes or less with an upgrade at no charge. Thank you Hertz for your swift customer service on this issue.

When we checked in one person was working. The people in front of us had some type of issue and she didn’t know what to do. Finally a second person came out and he was clueless. After 20 min they asked those people to wait and helped us. I made a mistake and booked the car in my name but used my husband’s credit card. The lady didn’t know what to do. Another person came out from the back and found a form for her to fill out. Great. Then when we got to the cars I knew that I had booked an SUV. The signs said midsize and compact. I didn’t see a sign for SUV so I went into this “office” and the man sitting there did not even stand up and then was rather snotty when I asked about SUV’S. he told me that electric cars don’t have a grill on the front. And I could take any car with a grill. My question to him had nothing to do with electric cars. So I guess midsize is an SUV. We finally just walked to a car and drove away. Check in was easy and very fast.

Great experience renting at this location. Was here on a work trip, booked the manager's special and got a Hyundai Elantra with low mileage. The line-up for the shuttle was particularly long when we exited the terminal, so we took an Uber to the Rental Car Center to beat the crowds.

We would like to give a big thank you to the manager of this Hertz San Diego Airport branch. I forgot his name (he wrote it on a piece of paper but we lost it sorry. We had a good chat with him and he has also been to Mexico too!) He was tall with dark hair and very patient with us. He helped my husband out as he was having trouble with his booking and we were there for 2 hours. I am very thankful he came to the rescue as we don't have a credit card and only a debit card. It was on Monday 12 Feb. In the end it was finally resolved and we picked the cute green car for our road trip.

This was a great experience! Shoutout to Marty who made this whole experience smooth and was so friendly. He helped us out with all our questions and even took the time to write us a list of recommendations of things to do in the San Diego area. We will definitely be using this rental car place again.

Didn’t get the car I requested and they are trying to talk me into a downgrade and while paying g the same. SCAMMERS
