This hertz location is the worst. I went there to pick up my reserved full size vehicle. The car was dirty and the trunk was full of junk and big industrial tools in the trunk. . I went back and spoke with a girl and requested another car that is in “ready” condition. She wanted me to pay for an upgrade or wait 30 minutes for her to clean up. I told her that I won’t pay for an upgrade for their inability to do get the car ready as per my reserved time. BTW, I am a Hetrz President Cicle status and they didn’t try to make it right for their inability to provide a clean and correct vechicle. The girl at the front desk, is argumentative and rude. When I ask her for her name, She was mean and said i did not say it right because it is hebrew. She finally gave me an another car that is still dirty with 1/2 tank of gas but empty trunk when I tried to call corporate to report them. This location has the worst service and corporate really need to replace them.

I paid for the EV managers special. I got there and they only had one EV with no charge. They offered a non EV without extra charge or to pay extra to upgrade to a Tesla. I shouldn’t have to pay extra for an upsell for an EV. But I did. They said the charge was at 68% but when I got in the vehicle it was at 40%. Nothing but a horrible experience. Bait and switch, and lying.

Confirmed 4 days prior that they would have the car I reserved, but was told it wasn’t available when I arrived for pick up. Shuttle service was convenient, but driver was extremely reckless behind the wheel. Went to Enterprise instead. Terrible experience.

I WISH I COULD GIVE HERTZ ALL ZEROS. I AM IRRITATED, DISPLEASED, DISSATISFIED, IRATE, AND OVERWHELMED. LUKA AND ANNA, ARE INSENSITIVE, INCONSIDERATE, RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL, UNETHICAL, UNPROFESSIONAL, AND DISHONEST. LUKA AND ANNA ARE NOT SYMPATHETIC OR EMPATHETIC FOR ANYONE'S SITUATION. I AM A DISABLED VETERAN WHO LIVES ON A FIXED INCOME. I RETURNED THE RENTAL BACK TO LOCATION WITH SAME OR MORE GAS. I RETURNED THE RENTAL BACK WITHIN THE TIME LIMIT. HERTZ CHARGED ME $175.00 FUEL CHARGE AND ONE EXTRA RENTAL HOUR. I CALLED THIS MORNING AND SPOKE TO ANNA AND ASKED FOR A REFUND. THEY KEPT MY DEPOSIT OF $200.00. ANNA WAS RUDE, ARGUMENTATIVE, DISRESPECTFUL, AND UNWILLING TO HELP. LUKA AND ANNA SAID IT WOULD TAKE TWO TO FOUR WEEKS TO RECEIVE A REFUND. THAT IS UNACCEPTABLE, ABSURD, AND WRONG ON SO MANY LEVELS. I WILL NEVER RENT HERE AGAIN. I WOULD EXPECT YOU ALL NOT TO RENT HERE. HERTZ DOES NOT SUPPORT THE MILITARY AND THE VETERANS.

Would actually give zero stars if that were an option. Rented a mid-sized sedan, arrived to pick it up and only AFTER charging my card and not saying a word, a full sized SUV was brought around. I told the person that I wasn't comfortable driving such a large vehicle and was told that was all that was available so I canceled the rental but was still charged even though it was entirely the fault of the location. Now, I'm fighting to get my money back. Never using Hertz again.

I was set up with this location due to someone hitting my car. Terrible service, nobody answers the phone. Had to call customer care to escalate my call. Finally confirmed my appointment for pick for the day I was to drop off my car. Rep said "all done, just call the location 1hr before you need to be picked up so they are aware you are on on time". Again tried calling 5 times, nobody answers so I currently at the repair shop with no rental.

5 stars for Luka. You never know what you are going to get at Hertz but this experience was excellent. Got better car than we reserved for the same price, added a driver for no extra charge (due to AAA membership) and it was easy to pick up and drop off. Give Luka a raise!

If it could be 1 star, that'd be more accurate. They don't fully disclose what you are paying for even though they reassure you that you are taken care of. They are all about getting the cars out. Don't matter if they are clean inside and out. All the sudden month later. After returning the vehicle. Being a Tesla, there's a new $250+ charge. For charging. Even though they tell you there that it's included in the amount that was already paid. Won't be back, the bait and switch is crazy.

Very poor customer service on this one. Arrive 10 minutes before closing, and yes I know that’s a bit late but more than enough time to swipe a credit card, and they deny me from picking up the car that I already reserved weeks in advance. Seems pretty easy to do so, in fact I know it is because I walked over to Enterprise and they took care of me in 5 minutes. Wouldn’t recommend this one as the staff was snooty and not customer friendly.

I've rented here about six times and had a couple of safety issues with the cars. One of the cars that I rented had no windshield wiper fluid (the tank was completely empty), so I had to buy a refill on the road. Another time, the rear tires were pumped up to 50 psi (the max pressure is 40). Fortunately, the vehicle's tire pressure monitoring system alerted me to the high pressure, which I verified with a hand gauge, and I let out air to get the pressure down to the correct level. This same car also had some trash from the previous renter, which tells me that it was not cleaned or inspected very well.Vehicle selection is quite limited. I always reserve a compact car, but I am often forced to take a larger car because there are no compact cars available. Recently, I reserved a compact car but was given a 300-horsepower turbocharged sport sedan, which was harder to park and got worse gas mileage than the car that I reserved.This location also seems to be understaffed. Most of the time, there is only one staff member on duty. If other renters are in line, it can take a long time to get help, even if I'm just trying to return my car.

The service here was outstanding.I had reserved a car with another agency that’s green in color. Minutes prior to my departure to pick up the rental I was told they did not have cars and were canceling my reservation. They said they were looking for cars for their guaranteed customers. I was one and I needed a car ASAP.Then I called Hertz on Balboa. Luka reserved a car for me immediately. Luka was friendly and kind even though I was totally on edge. Not only was the vehicle ready for me upon my arrival 30 minutes later but the cost was less than that other agency. I needed to extend the rental was able to do that as well even though it was over the holidays. I highly recommend this rental car location and especially Luka. Luka is a great ambassador for Hertz.And that other agency? I won’t go back there. Ever.

Rented a car on 7 Oct in San Diego offsite airport. The gas light came on 20 miles down the road because the tank was almost empty. Short while later the tire inflation light came on. one of the tires was over 10 pounds under inflated. I ran my finger across the dashboard and it was full of dust. I asked for compensation and they send me a certificate in case I choose to run with them ever again. I won't.
