We were loyal customers of Union Bank for over 40 years. Then UB was taken over by U.S. Bank out of Minnesota. It was quite the messy transition those first couple of weeks during which we were unable to access our online account and sat waiting for a representative on the phone for nearly half an hour on several occasions. On one of the calls, after expressing frustration at the long wait, the rep said with irritation: "Come to the bank and I will help you close your account." Yes, he actually said that!You may say, "Well, it was the first couple of weeks, they were probably very busy." Yes, and that is why you would hire extra people at that time to fill in the gaps. Obviously, Behemoth Bank did not need or want our business.HomeStreet Bank to the rescue, and in particular, Chuck Cadwalader, the bank manager over at the Mission Gorge branch. He showed us what true customer service looks like. He even came over to our home several times so we could sign paperwork, etc.What's more, Chuck is philanthropically active in our community. We would rather support a local bank that cares about us than a behemoth bank with lousy customer service from another state.The positive attitude, the friendly staff, the respect. Wow. Wish we'd transitioned sooner. But better late than never.

Our church recently (last year) switched to HomeStreet Bank. We are at the branch on Mission Gorge and Friars Road in the Vons parking lot. Charles "Chuck" Cadwalader is the VP and branch manager. They have been very attentive to our needs, especially during our pursuit of the PPP loan, etc. Thank you, Chuck.

Wow- this bank is so much more than a bank! Think of it as a business partner! Seriously- everyone is deeply involved with the community that when you step in the door you have a friend that you can chat with about community events! I work primarily with Chuck and Melena but I know everyone there knows me by name! It's such a great feeling! Thank you!

I wish I would have switched banks sooner! I have been with HomeStreet Bank for about 3 or 4 months, and I cannot thank Melena enough for making the transition so easy. I thought it would be a daunting task to switch, but Melena as well as the entire team made me really feel at ease and handled everything very professionally. I never knew how important it was to be valued at your bank; I can say that is something I never felt at US bank. And you get cookies and coffee when you go in! Go see Melena asap.

Everytime I come in you are always greeted with a smile and a hello they somehow always know your name. Very friendly staff. They always have coffee cookies and fruit waiting for you. Excellent service.

I don't even want to call this a "Bank". It feels more like you're going in talking to your friends when you come in. I have to compliment Yesenia. Her customer service is impeccable. Chuck and the team at Homestreet have amazing customer service! I went to the postal annex to get last minute travel documents printed and they couldn't help me. I have my mortgage with Homestreet and remembered that they are always friendly, so I took a chance and asked if they could help me. Chuck, the Vice President, personally helped me to print the travel documents and was friendly and hospitable the entire time. They really saved me during a last minute stressful situation. Big banks are overated. Work with Homestreet and you'll see and feel the difference. The entire team there has a personal touch and makes you feel like your more of a member of a upscale club rather than a customer.

I decided to open up a new checking out because I wanted to save more money that was easy and accessible. So I checked out homestreet and was greeted by warm welcomes and hellos! The bank teller that helped me was Melena and she was so sweet and full of energy, my kind of people! She explained everything so easily for me to understand. I will definitely be loyal to this bank and to this location now! One thing I LOVE MOST about Homestreet banking is the reversal charge. With any ATM that charges a certain amount since it's not that bank.. you'll get that fee back! So great!
