Spectacular state of the art facility with as many machines, weights, and classes as you could possibly need. The facility was very well maintained and the young man at the front desk was courteous toward us visiting from out of town. Our YMCA membership was easily found and accepted...we are thankful for the great customer service he provided. Highly recommend this YMCA if in San Diego!

The facility itself is adequate. It seems to be regularly cleaned at least. It's smaller than other San Diego Y's and doesn't offer all the amenities of the larger Y's but at a basic level it does the job.However, I have to agree with other reviewers of this Y, the customer service (entry & front desk) in the mornings is awful. They are not helpful at all and quite often the employees in these areas, their attitudes border on arrogance. I find it to be truly comical. They lack knowledge about the YMCA's published policies & shouldn't be in a customer contact position at all. Additionally, Jackie Robinson Y, seems to have as many days when its closed or "closing early" as to days when it's fully open. But its one of the cheaper Y's in San Diego and you get what you pay for.

Worst customer service ever. They have an issue that they need to close the pool for around 2 weeks. I only pay my membership for my kids using the pool but we have to stop using that because of their issue. I asked to extend or refund my membership for those 2 weeks. Then they said they cannot do that. That meant I lost money for my 2 weeks family membership. It's so stupid, doesn't make sense to me. Why they could do that . I paid my membership for a month but can use only half month. Super stupid customer service. No more membership here.....

My kids love the sports programs, the building is always an ideal temperature. It's clean and a moderately quiet environment. Would Definitely recommend

Customer service is straight garbage. Their supposed to have knowledge of their own policies and procedures. They change a part of my account without proper authorization. Gave a different price than was told. Charged for the wrong price and process for refund is longer than any standard company. YMCA cost more than all other big name gyms but they had behind the 501(c)3 "non-profit". They are worse than big name gyms.

I'll let you know after I receive the service I came to utilize. But overall, the ladies at the desk are very friendly and the layout in here is beautiful. There's also a gym on the second floor. I'm going to take a look around since I arrived early to my appointment

My favorite YMCA in my area. Shout out to Lapay for always answering my questions and always maintaining a positive attitude! The hours are different but if you need to sneak in a workout over the weekends I'd recommend the YMCA Mission Valley (earlier hours Mon - Sun / opened on the weekends). Would be six stars if the hours would be earlier but I understand people have lives too haha. No complaints here.

What good is it to have a membership to this place??! Tried going in for a workout, it’s 2pm and this place was s closed on a Saturday, hours of operation are till 5pm on Sat. Look through the windows and the employees are playing water gun fights!! You can’t make this stuff up. On top of that, this place is closed Dec 23-25, meanwhile, the rest of the working class has to work on those days. Obviously this place cares more about hosting events etc then being open and there for their members. Consider my membership voided!

The customer service is amazing, brand new equipment. I love it, I recommend it to everyone. The employee Isabel is so cool and friendly she helped spot me when I needed help on the bench press

The gym itself it great, the hours are terrible. They aren't open on Sundays which is pretty ridiculous and during the holidays they close the Friday before the holiday which is just weird. Online it wasn't posted so I showed up to the gym on December 23rd and found that they were closed. I understand people want to be with their families on Christmas Eve and the day but the day before is odd. They did this again for New Year's weekend. They were closed the 30th, like why? Good gym just not so great hours.

the gym itself is fine, the staff/customer service was not. my mom got a family membership to add me and my grandma onto it (we all live in the same house hold) and they told us they couldn’t add us to the system until the end of the month. we waited and were told we needed a manager to process it and get us ID cards. every time i asked for a manager she was either not there or busy. after 2 weeks of waiting my mom goes to ask when she will be available and they tell her we actually can’t be added to a family membership because i’m over 18 and we don’t all have the same last name. yes i have a different last name because my mom is remarried…which is not any of their business. then they started adding all of these extra fees if we wanted to still all get a membership. AND, they lost all of the paperwork we had filled out and had my mom do it again. what a complete waste of time, if they had said this in the beginning i would have just stayed at my old gym and not waste 2 weeks and multiple trips up there to be given the wrong information by multiple people.
