As to date, do not follow Google map. Turn left on Elrod Avenue to NFCU instead of right. It is right behind the CDC on base.Great experience! We’re staying nearby for the Surf Cup Tournament and this location was less than 2 miles away. No lines and I was able to get in and out in no time, provided that they just opened for business on a Friday.The Staff were friendly and professional even showing me how to order cashier’s check in the app. The facility was cool and tidy. Drive-thru and ATM available. Plenty of disabled parkings, about 10 spots, with 2 spots for van accessible.

My husband and I walked in to, hopefully, see a person and have them help us initiate a car loan application. We were taken right away. They gave us a form to fill out and as I was filling it out the lady told us not to worry and that we could do the app on our phone… Okay. I didn’t think much of it. I thought she’d ask more questions and input the answers or such but no. She explained to us that NF was trying to have their members use technology. I understand that, but some people would rather have the human help; otherwise, why even have loan officers? Tellers? etc. Anyway… we got approved right away but here’s where the problem comes with the whole technology thing: she never asked essential questions like, who is this loan for? Who’s in the loan/lease right now? Are there any changes, etc. They issued a draft, not a check, on my husband’s name only and we needed with my name on it, or both our names. We didn’t even need our names on the draft. I was so confused since I’ve worked for multiple credit unions and they all ask these questions plus they issue cashiers checks. They wouldn’t change it. To top it off, they do not take care of sending the check or some DMV stuff. Again, why have employees in branch then?We had to go to another location and ask for the draft to be fixed but they refused. We went to cal coast since SDCCU doesn’t do lease buy outs anymore and the service was much better and different! They processed everything in person, we asked question, they issue CCs and send them, they take care of all DMV paperwork, etc. Granted, NF approved us on the spot but the loan was useless to our needs. I was very disappointed as their rate was also much higher than our rate with CCCU and our experience. Maybe in the future we will give a second chance but for now we are okay with our credit cards only.

Mina K. had been very helpful on our banking needs. She has provided us with a lot of advice which helped us when making our final decisions. Always professional when conversing but interjects light humor which made us very comfortable when talking with her. We discussed about our mortgage and Mina K. was very versed on the topic We even had to wait on her because she was already familiar with our situation. Superb Customer Service! Five Stars and Thumbs Up for Mina!

Yes, another Covid excuse compliments of NFCU. Branch is too full to go inside to cash a check. Go through drive through and told I can't cash a check, they can only place a hold on a government check. Yep, their mission is to "support military members." Sure...they hold checks so they can earn more money on interest with your money. Pathetic credit union.

Friendly staff love everything about this place I'm so glad I finally found a bank I like going to without the rude staff. Everyone here was great and amazing polite and have smiles on there faces. Will only go here for now on.

My account got hacked and I had one small error with my account and now it’s been permerlly restricted but they can unrestricted it when I need to get my pay out. I didn’t have any money taken out and they ducked me over. I’m new to the service and didn’t have any problems till now and they don’t care and just rushed me off the phone wouldn’t bank with them

This is a decent location on the Miramar Base. So access is not for everyone. If there is a line it's usually short. I like using the drive through tellers or ATM. Not anything great but just another Navy Fed location. The ones out in town are usually packed with long lines

I am sorely disappointed by the terrible customer service I received from one of your employees. Jennifer (Jenny) made it seem as if I was wasting her time, that she was inconvenienced by presence and she came across awfully racist to me and my family. I regret having to make use of this back if continuiously met with horrible service. Employ better people Navy Fed!

Mari is awesome! I use to be a little unsure about this Navy Fed in particular from previous problems in the past but ever since I worked with Mari recently, it made me reconsider. She's super helpful, friendly and insightful. Thanks again Mari!
