I didn’t like the breakfast selection for such a big hotel it should have more selections for the military members and family since we all have to give up our spouses or family for the service of our country.

We spent our Anniversary there for 5 days. It was clean, next to the beach (we really enjoyed), and the staff very friendly. Great to see so many Navy pilots and tremendous respect for this old Marine.

We come here very often & enjoy all that this base has to offer. This Navy Lodge is one of the best that we have visited so far. Thank you to the Navy Lodge for all of the hospitality. We will definitely be back very soon.

Great spot!So clean. Rooms are very fresh and plenty of room.Staff is very helpful and friendly. Many staff working about cleaning and assisting customers.Has access to the beach, a pool, and a kid area.Has a continental breakfast (bagels, toast, cereal, boiled eggs, coffee and tea).As we were lounging at the pool. I even noticed the room attendant cleaning the balcony railing, chairs, super impressed when after washing down sliding glass door they even wiped out the track of the sliding glass door.

We had an amazing stay at this lodge. It has been one of the best base accommodations we’ve experienced. We stayed in a Deluxe suite with a balcony overlooking the water. The rooms were clean, bright and airy. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our kids loved the pool and east access to the playground. We loved the sunset views and being able to sit on the balcony at night after they were asleep. The small NEX downstairs is super convenient. We absolutely plan to return if we’re out that way again.

Older building, but very clean and friendly. Lodge is right on the beach with a courtyard that consists of a little playground, tables/chairs and a pool. Breakfast included with stay. There is a little snack/trinkets shop in the lobby. Reasonable pricing compared to commissary. Beach towels in the bathroom. Lodge also has a coin laundry mat if needed, a cardio only gym and a rooftop terrace that is food/beverage friendly. If you're looking for a simple, clean, affordable, safe, family friendly location.. THIS IS IT! We are definitely returning.

Location so great. Hotel is clean. Can't beta that. The customer service sucks. No one smiles or has any bit of personality. They act very out out to even help you check in to your room. We arrived around 2:30 for 3 check in and nothing was available yet. Then the proceed to tell me my room can be ready anywhere between 3-5. What ?!! I have two kids and decided we'd go to the pool. But unfortunately the front desk couldn't give a key to go to the pool. That's so crazy. So we sat in the lobby as my boys run a muck. Doesn't seem like complaining would be worth it. I doubt you'd get anywhere.

Loved our stay here! Our family room was clean and we were able to get an early checkin. Literally can't beat the price and location in San Diego! The pool was perfectly clean, playground was well kept. Navy takes a lot of pride in keeping this facility running in optimal condition

THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE COTTAGES.For the price - currently $180/night - it will never be beaten. You get two dedicated parking spots, two bedrooms, one bathroom, full kitchen, stacked washer/dryer, and an outdoor shower on a back patio that is literally on the sand! It sleeps six: a queen, two twins and a fold-out double. They include six beach towels and six foldable chairs, and you get complimentary continental breakfast next door at the Navy Lodge, and use of the pool there! If I had to say anything negative, it's that furnishings are dated (but it was very clean). Also, they include dish soap, etc, but nothing for the washer/dryer. And, you'll want to bring your own bar soap and shampoo.

Loved it! My kids (5 and 8 months) loved it too. Secluded beach, clean rooms and grounds, heated pool, play ground... all wonderful. We stayed on the bottom floor right by the playground/pool. There is amazing access to everything. Close to everything. Close to sea world and the zoo. We will always try to get a room here for all our SD trips!

Should be 0 stars, but only reason why it’s not, is the location on the beach and overall appearance.Cons: - Checkin was over 1 hour late. Supposed to be at 1500, but didn’t check-jn until last 1600…and it was at least 15 other ppl waiting as well. The front desk attendant was extremely rude and no help whatsoever (Asian woman named Karen, I believe). She even raised her voice multiple times at an elderly male veteran, UNSAT!- I finally checked in around 1600, but was given a room that wasn’t even ready (see pictures). I went back to the front desk, got another room..and that room was not ready and dirty as well….UNSAT!!!- Front desk didn’t offer any help, or even apologize. All they said was, “you’re just going to have to wait. Our cleaning team has until 1700 to clean the rooms.” Checkin in 1500, so how does this make sense?- The mattress was basically a rock with blankets on top.Pro:Super nice location and very nice hotel. Could be an easy 5 stars if they work on customer svc, maintenance, and the bed.
