Pepper Grove is a playground in Balboa Park with two separate play structures for smaller and older kids, featuring a sand pit and swings. The large play area has lots of pavement for bikes and scooters. A significant portion of the structure is in the middle of the sun with no shade, and some areas are roped off because they are broken. The park offers good parking, lots of grassy spots with shade for picnics, and many picnic tables. Public bathrooms are available but can be a little dirty. It is a dog-friendly area. The location is a very easy walk to the museums and shares parking with the Fleet Science Center.
