Be aware! I got food poisoning on February 28th, 2024, and had to have an ambulance pick me up from the restaurant.Food tasted alright while I was eating it, but I could not finish my meal. Before I could even leave the resteraunt I was throwing up.To top it off, this was happening right in front of their resteraunt, and they offered no help. Even the ambulance was disappointed in the lack of action from the people standing inside.I should have known that there was something up when no one but me was there during lunchtime.

Great pho! Nice spacious dining room. They sometimes seem a little annoyed if I ask for basil, but they do give it to me.Parking: Never had an issue with parking here.

Service was great! Both my boyfriend and I loved the pho and the fried rice. Everything was at a very good price as well. We left happy, full, and feeling a bit healthier.

Good pho, best in the area. There are off menu items you can request. My wife prefers tofu over meat and they were able to recommend common dishes people like that were non meat.

DISGUSTING food, and awful service. I ordered the Pho and literally had instant diarrhea for the next 3 days. My wife ordered some rice dish, and she threw up. DO NOT EAT

I came here for lunch on Labor Day with my mom and my grandma. It was a recommended spot-- my grandma heard about it from a friend. The inside was spotless and they had many tables/seating. I liked the left side of the space because it was more light than the right. It felt a bit dimmer on the right side of the restaurant, that could be from the way the sun was entering through the windows as well. They are big on cleanliness; after a customer leaves, they wipe down the tables and sweep under the tables. They have hoisin and sriracha condiments in refillable bottles. Their sriracha is a bit more orange than usual so it must be one of the newer bottles. They supply the table with individually packaged wooden chopsticks which is nice. They are on the circular side which I like because it's easier to pick up food. The workers were really kind and friendly, smiling, and held great conversations about the restaurant. To eat we ordered: grilled pork spring rolls, pho tai, and 2 che desserts. The spring rolls were really good, freshly rolled. It had a nice balance of noodles to veggies. Inside it had lettuce, carrots/daikon, crispy egg roll wrapper, beansprouts, and nem nuong. The peanut sauce was more on the lighter side, so barely any hoisin mixed in. And it was quite thin, but overall very much enjoyable. You get two rolls and it's cut in half-- so you get 4 pieces! A great sharing starter. The pho tai...It was decent. I don't think the broth tasted particularly clean and the rare steak was overcooked by the time it came to us (my mistake, I forgot to ask for it on a side plate). We were given a small plate of veggies such as beansprouts, sliced jalapeno, lemon, and basil. But I feel like they should have given us a bit more than that one small plate since 3 people were eating pho. Personally, I wouldn't get the pho again...perhaps try something else on the menu! For the che, I forget the name of which it was called on the menu. But one of them came out and it reminded me of che thai-- it had red rubies (aka water chestnuts), banh lot (pandan jelly), sweet mung bean paste, and coconut milk. This looked amazing. But the red rubies were overcooked and very clumped together. It was still warm, the red rubies have to be dunked in a cold water bath to be separated before being added into che thai. And the banh lot was tasteless and too soft. The coconut milk was thin and not very sweet. Because most aspects of the dessert drink went in while still warm it had melted the crushed ice and made it quite watery. This che thai, in my opinion, was not good. I wouldn't get it again. The other che was my grandma's choice and it had colored milk jelly, slivered almonds, longan, and crushed ice. It was refreshing, but not much flavor. Overall, a good restaurant. (3-4 stars). There are a few things I'd skip next time coming here. But the menu is a few pages and they have different dishes so I am open to trying more of the menu on my next visit. In comparison, the prices here were much more affordable than other restaurants. Hopefully, next time they will take the time to make their che thai better (:

Saturday night my family and I went to have a " good dinner night " at this place that it was our favorite for more than 10+ years. We order our food and as normal they brought some water but this time the glassware was dirty, with marks of lipstick. Ok we thought it was fine just a small mistake. They change them, after a few minutes of eating the food with my daughters and wife I was going to take a piece of fry tofu and I notice there was a black dot in the plate and surprise! A Fly!!!We couldn't believe that was happening after so many years of service. The waitress just apologized and wanted to offer a 10% discount, we did not finish the food, paid and walked away. A week after we recover from food poison. We will never come back!

This is by far the best place to eat in allied gardens. The food quality, the service, the ambiance.... Even the range of options. Keep doing what you're doing! I wish more restaurants around here were up to your standards. It's consistent here. And the price is reasonable too. :)

Saigon Star was a local favourite since it was close by.They deliver, take to go and have sit down space. This review is for a delivery order:Rare Steak PhoUnusually greasy broth with an oily aftertaste. Bummed about this one because their pho had never let us down during previous experiences. The topping ingredients were fresh, otherwise.Grilled fish and ginger spring rollsThe fish was battered and the lettuce in the roll did not taste right. Ginger nor it's flavour could not be found.I usually order shrimp spring rolls and was disappointed in trying something new.Salted and Pepper CalamariI did not eat this time around but was told it was delicious as per.Shrimp CurryLots of zucchini and some shrimp -could use more shrimp that zucchini, since it is after all shrimp curry. The curry in itself was simple with a hint if spice. Delivery was quick and complete. Two out of four items hit the spot.Disappointed with how the food was this time around but willing to give it another chance.

Very disappointing Pho. Broth was bland and chicken was dry. I could do better myself.

Me and my family were in the area and were looking for a nice place to sit down and here we found Saigon Star. The staff was friendly and quick to sit us down. Our order came a lot faster than we expected, usually because at other restaurants we order drinks and wait forever for the food, but here it's pleasantly different. Our appetizers came and we about devoured them and the rest of our meal came just in time. We order fried rice, wonton soup and an item from the Pho combo section. All of which were delicious, but the texture in some of the food felt weird but that might be because I'm so used to americanized foods.Would reccomend this to people who are looking for a chill kind of atmosphere and some delicious food.(Parking was kind of a nightmare, but food makes it worth everything)
