My son transitioned from a well reputed charter school to SCBA this year. We were nervous about the move but wanted a school with more of a neighborhood feel. We've found it at St. Charles. The staff (especially Principal Cota) have been extremely warm and welcoming. The students are kind and friendly. I've been impressed with the academics and feel like our son is thriving. We also love that the school has sports which has allowed our son to play new sports in a low pressure environment. I have toured most of the schools in San Diego and am really happy we chose SCBA.

My son is new at Saint Charles. The fun Youth Group activities, compassionate teachers, and focus on having a kind learning and school environment are what makes this school great. We love this school!

We enrolled our kids at St Charles earlier this year and it has been an incredible experience. Mrs Debra Cota is a very impressive leader with tremendous passion. She is very involved and her team of teachers share as much passion and kindness as her. St Charles is a rare find and all the kids seem kind and motivated.

St. Charles Borromeo Academy has been a terrific school for my children and my entire family for the past 3 years. I have been impressed with the quality of the education. The teachers really care about each child and have partnered with us to nurture each of our children in individual ways. The emphasis on Christian faith and virtues is at the core of everything the academy does. It is not just a school but a community. We have made so many close friends through the academy.
In this time of COVID, the school pivoted over a weekend so that not one day of learning was lost. Now that we are back this fall, asynchronous learning has been impressive. Seeing the teachers in action has given me a whole new appreciation for the high standards at St. Charles. If you are looking for a school in the Pt. We love St. Charles Borromeo Academy. We have been there 3 years now and came from another catholic school. We moved to St. Charles as it was closer to our house, just a mile away.We know this past year has been challenging. The administration and teachers did an incredible job over this past year. I was impressed with the school before the pandemic, but they have really done a great job with the online program, hybrid and then back to full time in classroom scenarios.St. Charles does a great job instilling the catholic faith and teachings on a daily basis as well as providing a challenging academic environment. They do have sports teams but the school is small so sometimes it can be hard to form teams and/or find coaches but they have several sports at the school.And if you haven't attend mass there, Fr. John Amsberry is incredible. We are blessed by the best!

I wish Saint Charles Borromeo Academy had an extension for High School. We had the best experience with this Catholic School. We've moved around a few times, which required our daughter to switch schools as well. We were afraid to make this last move to SCBA because she had excellent grades and friends in her previous school, and we didn't want this to change. SCBA made the transition so smooth, we will always be grateful. Our daughter has been well prepared academically for High School, made friends and had a lot of fun during these years. Her teachers were excellent professionals; dynamic, demanding but kind. Mrs. Cota, the principal, was a bonus! She is very friendly and approachable, and an excellent listener. :) SCBA is a hidden treasure. We'll miss it!

Amazing school, parish and community. The teachers are genuine and care about every child. The most parents stay involved and engaged to make this place the best it can be for our young minds. Great community feel!

This is our third year at Saint Charles and we are so happy with the school. Both my kids love going to school and have loved their three teachers so far. I am confident that my kids are receiving a great academic education while also learning how to be good citizens in this world. The school community, including the church community, is very welcoming.

St. Charles Borromeo Academy has been a terrific faith and academic home for our 4 kids over the last 4 years. The teachers are so caring and engaged. Everyone from the principal down knows our children and in genuinely interested in them. When we have had challenges, the teachers have been responsive and accessible - they have really partnered with us to help each child thrive. SCBA is a humble little school with a lot of heart. The school has shined through the pandemic - pivoting quickly to online learning and then reopening in a hybrid format and now full-time. Through it all, students have continued to learn and keep up with regular grade-level learning expectations. We are so blessed to have for St. Charles Borromeo Academy.

Both of our children attend SCBA and love it. They love their teachers, their friends, and the aftercare too! We like knowing our kids are growing up with book smarts as well as kindness, compassion, love, and mercy. It is also a wonderfully close and supportive community on all fronts: teacher-parents-and staff. We love it here...and Miss Diana...YOU ROCK ❤️

A true gem. Small children feel, safe and comfortable in a truly friendly environment. The older children are very focused on school. They have great manners and excellent character. Even the school location is ideal. Across the street from Liberty Station, it makes it really covenient to take care of errands, meeting up with friends and afternoon pick-up of the kids coming in from downtown. Since it's only one class per grade, we have a better sense of who's who at the school. You couldn't ask for a warmer, more spirit filled environment with down-to-earth parents who just want the best for their children.The new principal is just so approachable and really cares about the success of each child. If you want pompous and flashy, this is not the place. If you want a small, warm community with a serious tone to academics, this is your home.

St. Charles is a fantastic school with dedicated and professional teachers and staff. A great emphasis is placed on Catholic teaching and tradition, including service to others and involvement in the school and parish community. Students receive a quality education and are treated as individuals, especially those with learning challenges. The teachers show compassion to their students, while maintaining an environment in which students learn to be responsible and accountable for their actions. My child is treated with respect and care and has grown tremendously in his two years of attending St. Charles. We plan to be a part of this special community for many more years.
