Not a member of this Bank and after today's interaction I'm glad I'm not. Went to the ATM to pull $500 and the ATM spit out all $50 bills. I was hoping for $20 bills like normal ATM's, so I went into the branch within not even minutes of the ATM withdrawal with receipt in my hand to ask the Bank rep if he can kindly switch out my $50 to $20 bills. He asked if I was a member I said no I'm a member of a different credit union but I used your ATM since it's a co-op and didn't realize that your ATM would give me $50's instead of $20's. He told me sorry I can't help you since you're not a member. I told him I literally pulled out this money out of your ATM less than a minute ago and I have the ATM receipts to show you he told me that the ATM is ran by a third-party and he couldn't help me. Not like I'm asking for more money than I got even switch. Advice to management next time I think you should have a sign in front of your ATM let us nonmembers can know prior to using your ATM. Thank you California Coast credit union for not being assholes like them.

On two different occasions, I reached out to SDCCU support to help me. Neither time was the support agent able to resolve my issues.I just have had so many interactions with other banks where they were able to help me immediately and resolve my problems. I would think a company that I literally pay to hold my money would have my back more.I would rather stick with the big name brand banks than this credit union...

After the last few interactions I've had with this bank and the people working here I will be withdrawing 100% of my funds and putting it elsewhere. Worst bank I've ever used

Excruciating doesn't even begin to describe it. Oh, and they nickle and dime you with fees also. How about a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT for forcing DIABLED PEOPLE and SENIOR CITIZENS to physically come into a branch location for every last bit of help - help that any number of other banks will give online or via a phone call? I think that is worthy of consideration! Want an account printout (if you don't have access to online banking ... oh, more on that below!) - well that will be a $5.00 fee at the office! Don't have your account number? Go to an office, can't be done on the phone. Have your account number? Ok, now we should be able to log-in, right? NOOOOO!!!!!! -- you have an old phone number from 5 years ago, and you can't receive the calls or text messages to reset your password. But it should be easy to change your phone number, right (most people these days don't keep the same phone number for more than 5-7 years like they did in the Ma Bell old days). Call customer service and am told that I have to physically go in to a branch to update my phone number. At this point, I'm thinking that I will be charged $5 to update my phone number at a branch? Excruciating, aggravating, pre-1990's runaround -technology. I think I will go to US Bank instead.

My whole family Banks with SDCCU for more than 25 years. It's a good Credit Union, but the branch at Sports Arena Blvd is the worst! I've been there 3 times now, and every time they take forever to help a customer (even when employees are not busy). Very poor customer service. They need a new manager. This is the closest branch for me, but I rather drive further than deal with that branch.

Stopped in to re-open my closed account. The Rep Alexander Gregory Fabiola acted like he was a beginner. He provided poor customer service. He kept telling me I needed $40 to open a new account. I handed him a cashiers check from my credit union for 40k and he looked like he had never seen a cashier's check for that amount. He kept saying I need to go talk to my manager. They both were dumb. I walked right out b/c I already have two other accounts with a credit union but wanted to move some of my money. Never want to use one or two. Always had three accounts. They need to be re trained and stop trying to judge a person on their race. Also maybe they can not open several accounts in such a large amounts so they feel un privileged ?. Very unprofessional!!

I reported my cards missing on the 6th. I went to the bank on the 8th. I was told I would receive new credit and debit cards 5-7 working days. Two weeks later no cards. My automatic bills are being flagged as no payment. I have nothing to pay with. I DO NOT recommend this bank. Do not use them.

Avoid SDCCU - they refused to fix fraudulent charges even with proofavoid at all costs! Do NOT bank with SDCCU! If you can go to any other credit union do so! I had my card stolen back in 2017 and used in a completely different city than where I live - and in the middle of the week while I was at work. I have tried to fight this every single year since then, and ended up just paying the charge off to see if it would help. After that they kept refusing a pay for delete on my credit report. I have sent proof multiple times that the charge wasn't me and that I wasn't even physically near where the charge was made and they keep denying everything! This charge was made at a bar in LA on a Wednesday in September 2017, which I didn’t do because I had never been to that bar and I worked second shift in San Diego on weekdays (didn’t get off until 1am) throughout 2017. I provided proof like hardware test reports and my time card statements from that week to show that I was at work in San Diego and couldn’t have made it up there. I even tried getting in contact with the bar but no one responded and I’m sure they wouldn’t be able to provide proof I wasn’t there anyways. It's so hard to talk to anyone at SDCCU and they kept sending me to different people to talk to. I've emailed, called, and visited different branches but no luck at all. I’ve even filed a police report for card theft and SDCCU ignored it. I ended up emailing the CEO with disputes and proof because I can’t get anywhere with anyone, all they say is “sorry can’t help you” even when I explain that I can give them proof and try to show it!Do NOT use SDCCU if you want to bank with a reasonable organization!!!

Atm took my cash deposit without it going to my bank, then told. Me to kick rocks and talk to my bank to sort it out. Took me several weeks to get the deposit back.

I have been a member since the mid-70s yesterday at the Sports Arena San Diego Credit County Credit Union was the worst experience I've ever had with SDCCU. I came in to deposit a check. They asked for my password, I gave it to her. She then asked for a federal ID, I complied. She checked with her supervisor to ok my deposit, when she returned she asked me to remove my mask and endorse the check again. With all the checking of my id, she did make the transaction.10 minutes later I have never felt more like a criminal than I did attempting to deposit a check in my account. I'm sure it had nothing to do do with my skin color, right.

You have no banking power here. It's hard to access your own money, transfers are too difficult and getting someone on the phone is nearly impossible. Do yourself a favor and just go to a Wells Fargo or other big name to avoid all the frustration you will surly have with SDCCU.

This is consistently the WORSE SDCCU in town. Rude tellers, long lines. Twice within the last month I've gone in here to do routine banking. There is always a line. One time there were 3 women in the glass office possibly having a meeting, which included a lot of laughing. They could clearly see the long line but only came out to tell us what socially distancing circle to stand on. And when I was finally helped by a short woman with short arms I was rudely scolded about endorsing my check. Yesterday I was there with my 88 year old mother, who had a $25 check to cash. Again the long line and only 2 tellers open. There were 2 women behind the tellers and the only time the possibly "manager" came out was to police standing on the dots, and then she stood there with her arms crossed and her very unprofessional tight blue jeans. If they would offer some help the line would move. The young brunette teller who helped my mom took probably 10 minutes to cash a $25 check. My mom presented her debit card, requested a certain way she wanted her $25 and it took forever. She had to show her DL and remove her mask. No matter that she has a LOT of money in her account that the teller could clearly see. When we got to the car and looked at her receipt the teller screwed up the documentation of how she wanted her cash. She requested four $5 bills and five $1 bills. The receipt reads four $5s, and four $1s. I hate this bank. It surely was not one that was reviewed to name SDCCU the Best Bank. Are these the rookies? Or just the most incompetent and rude bunch of employees? I never have a problem at the Balboa location. I wish Mildred Street would open back up. Their employees were competent and friendly. Sports Arena SDCCU sucks! I will try to stay OUT of this location.
