Struggling financially, was charged for an overdraft fee. When I explained my situation, they would not reverse it. I will be closing my account. They claim to be care about their clients wellbeing, but their actions say otherwise. Disappointing. I would recommend finding a different banking institution.

Terrible customer service. I was charged 5 overdraft charges after Costco put a $150 hold on my account for purchasing $38 in gas. I had the money to cover every purchase I made. SDCCU was only willing to remove 2 of the charges. I closed my account. Other financial institutions are willing to do much more for their customers when things like this come up.

I have issues on my homeowner insurance, I'm glad got the right person Claudia of SDCCU branch at 2525 E. Plaza Blvd. helped me. By far one of the worst banks in Southern California; online banking is constantly offline, the branches are deserted with one person helping 10 people in line, random issues with their debit cards declining but then working just fine the next day. They are so incompetent that they warn you all the time about protecting yourself from social media scams, yet they allow their Facebook page to be filled with scammers posting comments because apparently no one manages that asset in the bank. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from them.

The worst bank. I've been a member for over a decade, I've had to go elsewhere for credit cards and car refinances. The app does not work to deposit checks, and at the atm it takes an unprecedented 8 business days. I once deposited in person at the Regents branch and the teller put a hold on my check bc I didn't sign up for the things she wanted me to and I had less than $1k in checking (since I had to deposit my other checks in a real bank). I work hard long hours, I cannot take time off to go to the bank. I'm a very kind customer and hate to make noise. This review has been years of suffering in the making. When I changed my name, I was locked out of my own account online, they asked me to just try it on wifi. I had to beg them to double check for me and it turned out they hadn't changed my info on all their systems. A few days later, they canceled my current card, and I can't activate my new one online or by phone bc it won't take the last four of my social. Online it just directs me to a page to sign up for a credit card. This is a bank for people who get pension checks direct deposited and never have to think about their money. Not for regular people who need to access their funds regularly.

called to resolve a major problem with the mobile deposit. The tone I got when telling her i have already done what she was saying was just the end. Going to close all 3 accounts and go else where. even BOA has to be better then these guys

A staff person was not well trained. My CD was matured, I called and asked to transfer to a new Promo with a better rate. However, my money was sitting in a temporary account and not moved until I found out later. Called again a second time and other staff person seemed to know what to do and transferred successfully.

VERY RUDE MANAGER working here on 12/22/22. My mom came in to simply cash a check. As soon as she walks through the doors the manager harshly yelled across at my mom to take off her sunglasses, when my mom tried explaining that they're prescription sunglasses the manager rudely said she didn't care and it was policy there and she had to walk in partially blind...Absolutely no reason to treat someone that way and she could have used her "manager" skills to politely explain why and not yelling out at her. It's a ridiculous policy in my opinion. Do you make people take off their masks as well when walking in. The attitude from the manager didn't stop there and gave my mother a hard time when trying to cash the check, asking for fingerprints and other Unnecessary extra steps to cash a check less than $100, she and I have personally never had to do that before to cash a check. I Will NEVER USE this bank again and will recommend others not to as well.

So I was skeptical to come in here because of the last reviews on Yelp that popped up but I said shoot how bad can it be?? All I can say is Wow! Thank goodness for Serena Mitchell! Everything I needed she was quick and precise on how she helped me which I appreciate. No long wait and friendly staff. I recommend this SDCCU to anyone wanting to have their banking needs met. Too bad I can't give them the zero stars they so richly deserve. I applied for a small used car loan of $30k with these people through the car dealer and was denied!!!!!! I have 800++ credit, very little debt except a reasonable mortgage, pretty high income (whatever I want to withdraw each month) and a high net worth. Not sure who they actually *do* lend to but I've never been denied a loan in my life and I'm stunned. I could buy the whole damned car dealership for cash so I'm not sure what customers this credit union thinks is worthy of their crappy little loans. Since I'm not interested in dumping cash into a depreciating asset like a car, I'll go back to my regular banker. Geeez DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THESE IDIOTS PS - Wow, now I'm super glad I was denied, actually, after reading everyone's bad experience with these jokers. I feel like I dodged a bullet.

This place stinks to high heaven! A youngwoman so called "banker" made a MAJOR error on my dying mothers account and I did not find out until after she passed away. They are refusing to correct this problem take responsibility for her error; therefore holding back funds from the beneficiary. Shame on you ! Justice will be served. DO NOT SUPPORT YHIS BUSINESS!
